Default I have a question re: Coffee and weight loss

Greetings everyone!

I am a total coffee junkie....I love the stuff...I consume roughly 6+ cups per day. ( I drink it black)

My question is, will drinking coffee impede weight loss?

I've done some research online and seem to get conflicting answers.

Thanks in advance...

Based on the replies, I may cut down to one cup tomorrow....Eeeks....

Hello fellow coffee lover! I somehow managed to lose 122 pounds in a year while drinking a pot of coffee a day.

Still do!

this is not fact- but...

when i had a minor plateau in my weightloss... my trainer recommended increasing my caffine intake! totally a wives tale im sure... but
its a durectic (spell? it makes you eliminate "water")
gives you energy
increases met. rate temporarily

i say it cant hurt!

My dietician told me that caffeine increases your metabolism temporarily and that there is nothing wrong with drinking it in moderation.

Coffee is one of the foods with the highest level of chemicals in it (pesticides/herbicides) so you might want to look into organic.

I brew myself a big 'ol cup (probably about 3-4 "normal" cups) of organic/fair trade coffee every morning and wouldn't dream of attempting my commute without it! I don't feel it's had any negative effect on my weight loss efforts.
