Plateau Busters

Has anyone came across a forum or a thread on 3fc about Plateaus.
Im just curious because I feel im in one since its been a while since I have even took off a pound.
I know what my areas that I need to change is but just wondered if there were some others going thru this as well.

I have not hit the gym as much as I used to ( I keep using the heat as a excuse) I have worked out maybe three days a week unlike the 5 to 6 days I was working out.

I have not measured out my portions and have skipped some meals lately.
I will step it up and put myself first again. I have let my job and the fact my son is out of state with my mom for a visit detour me some but I will work on it and remind myself that Everything is alright and to get back in my routine and watch myself.
Thanks everyone.

I have seen lots of threads, but not a dedicated forum.

I've been losing weight that I've hit both kinds of plateaus. The REAL ones where, despite doing everything right I still didn't lose weight and the PSUEDO ones where, I didn't exactly go off plan but wasn't as diligent as I needed to be with my diet or exercise and just sort of maintained for a while. Frankly, I think they both have their place on the road to our goals.

Of course, on a real plateau the only thing you can really do is try changing up your routine and riding it out. Take measurements, pay attention to your clothes because you are usually making progress, just not the kind you can see on the scale.

When I realized that I wasn't losing because of my own habits I did the same thing - changed what I ate, when I ate, exercise, everything. Not only did it keep me from being bored but it also meant that I had to THINK about what I was doing again. The eating and exercise routines I had been doing I could do with my eyes closed so it was easy to relax and not pay as much attention as I should. Another thing that helped was to re-do all of my weight tracking forms. This was a mental ploy to help me start over in an effort to get that same motivation that we all have when we first start losing weight. For me, seeing how far I'd come was encouraging but it wasn't motivating. I had come to the point that I needed to stop focusing on how well I had done and start focusing on what I had left to do. I created two excel worksheets so that I could still congratulate myself for having made this whole journey yet clearly see how far I have to go to reach my goals. It might be a simple as just adding a second ticker to track your "new" beginning.

You are doing so well so don't let the scale get you down. You are going through what we ALL go through at one time or another. There is nothing to be done but to keep cheering each other on!

I've just come out of a "real" plateau, three long weeks of it. I tend to plateau every six weeks or so. As jawsmom has suggested, I take measurements, and I get my body fat measured also, so my plateaus are just my body catching up with it all, changes are still happening to my body. I tend to know when one is about to hit, and I give up weighing in for a few weeks, so that I don't get down about it. I also now know that this is a good time to change up my exercise, so I go to the gym and get my program re worked.

I now call it "sticky scale syndrome" rather than a plateau!! It's the scales that have got it wrong not me!!!!
