I need a support buddy....please

Hi :write:

I'm Jenn and I am 19 yrs. old. I have tried so many other weight loss programs and I am thinking that by sticking with this site and counting my calories I will finally be able to reach my goal.

I like having someone to talk to about how the day, week, or even month is going because I feel that it is a lot easier for me to stick to my diet if I have to tell someone else about it.

I thought I was doing well yesterday and I even went to the gym for 2 hours and it was really relaxing since it was still kinda empty. Then I came home and ate like a gazillion oreos before I fell asleep for the night. :rollpin:

My biggest problem is going to be trying to stay on my diet while I work. Oh...did I mention I work in a movie theater in the concession stand. Thats right-----free soda and popcorn all day long. :corn:

If anyone wants to chat you can PM me or I have my AIM name in my profile to talk online. Byes for now and goodluck to everyone!

Hi brokenxreality! Welcome! Since you are looking for a buddy, I would like to have you check out the part of the forum called "Buddy Up!" There are others there that post specifically looking for buddies as well!

:)

Hi Jenn:

I'm glad you found us, welcome to 3FC. It has been SO helpful to me to have this website available, I hope it's helpful for you as well.

Hey Jenn--welcome to 3FC!

I am 22 years old with a TON of weight to lose (how did I even gain so much in just 22 years?!). I'd just like to say that when I was in college, I worked at a movie theater at home between semesters and during breaks, too! Oh yeah, free soda and popcorn all the time. We also got free nacho chips, but we had to pay like 99 cents for the cheese stuff :p It was horrible for a dieting person, but great for a young person's job (lots of other young people to work with and free movies!). I would go back and work at a theater part-time again if I knew they'd maybe actually pay me more than minumum wage :dizzy:

Anyway...I actually got really sick of the popcorn, especially after coming home smelling like it all the time! We used to have popcorn fights when it wasn't too busy, so popcorn became more like ammunition than food to me  To this day, I will not eat popcorn. I just got SO sick of it--the taste, the smell, the nothing-like-butter butter-flavored greasy topping...I also HATED diet coke, so I thought I coul donly drink the other high-calorie sodas. Then I started mixing the doet coke and regular coke together. Still a lot of calories, but still less than just regular coke. If you're addicted to the soda, that is my suggestion. That's how I eventually weened myself off of regular soda and onto diet coke (although now I am addicted to the new CocaCola Zero, which is so much better than diet coke, in my opinion). It's still hard for me at my current part-time job (Ruby Tuesday restaurant), but I stick to diet coke, water, and the occasional light lemonade (5 calories per serving).

Another suggestion--get the oreos out of the house! If you don't have junk food in your house, then you won't have junk food to binge on! Of course, I don't know your living situation. Do you live on campus? Do you live with any other roommates?
