I love that people dig up old threads! They're new to me, and they already have a lot of responses. :)
I have found there are 16-18 cherries or grapes in a cup. FYI!

Cool! I love cherries. WW considers all fruit to be 1 cup=1 pt. I have also counted how many almonds are in a serving-32 that is 1/4 cup. I could eat cherries and almonds all day. yum.

I've come to this same conclusion, and I'm okay with it. I can't stop counting calories when I reach my goal because I KNOW I will start overeating again. I like having the accountability.

I was thinking about portion sizes just the other day as I was eating a 100-calorie bag of popcorn. I have a cute little blue bowl that I eat it out of. The bag fills up this little bowl, kind of heaped up, and it looks like a nice full bowl of popcorn. But I used to either eat a big regular bag (that has 3 servings) or I would make it home-made, so I'd have a HUGE mixing bowl of it. Now I'm perfectly happy with my little blue bowl of popcorn, but it sure seemed teeny when I started.

I measure anything that can be measured, because my idea of portion sizes is still out of whack. And I hardly ever drink a glass of milk with dinner anymore because I was amazed at how many calories I was consuming just by drinking huge glasses of milk a couple of times a day.

I can't imagine stopping counting calories. I know I'd be right back in my big girl jeans within a matter of a few months. Something in my head is just out of adjustment when it comes to knowing what a portion size is. Although I think it's getting better; the last time I went out to Thai food with co-workers, I looked at my lunch and realized it was HUGE. In the past, I'd have polished it all off but there is no way I could do it now. But over time, I know I would gradually eat a little more each time till I was right back up to being able to eat the whole thing.
