can yall tell me?

  • how many inches you lose per pound?
  • I have lost about 1.3 inches for each pound...but it depends on how many places you measure. I measure neck, bust, waist, hips, thighs (x 2), calves (x2), upper arms and lower arms. I've lost 61 inches and 47 pounds. That has translated to about 4 sizes -- from a 22 to a 14.
  • EVERYONE is different ... I don't lose pounds but inches ....
  • I've lost 4.5 inches overall and 26 pounds. I have no idea how it works out pounds to inches though. It doesn't seem to be steady at all.
  • It all depends on the person is what I was trying to say... It depends how much exercise you do, how muscular you are to start off with, there is no set ratio of pounds to inches. I've heard that 10# equals 1 dress size, but even that was different for me I went from a size 14 to an 8, that's 3 dress sizes, and had lost only 15#...
  • there is no correlation of pounds and inches because you could technically lose 5 inches and stay the same weight if you are replacing your fat with muscle
  • I lost two jeans sizes and gained two pounds when I first started heavy weight training. I was already at what I thought was my goal weight, and went from a size 8 to a size 6, dropped 8% body fat and gained 2 pounds.

There's no correlation what-so-ever. It depends on where you store fat, where you lose it first, how much and how you exercise.

Impossible to do! You can't replace fat with muscle. Muscle is muscle and fat is fat.

Here are the possibilities. Of course option 1 would be most preferrable.

Muscle can build and you can lose fat. Opt 1
Muscle can build and you can keep fat. Opt 2
Muscle can build and you can increase fat. Opt 3
Muscle can decline and you can lose fat. Opt 4
Muscle can decline and you can keep fat. Opt 5
Muscle can decline and you can increase fat. Opt 6

Muscle weighs about the same as fat. So you could feasibly gain weight in Option 2. However since muscle burns more fat than fat does, you'd probably lose the fat fairly soon.

And if you use a combination of cardio, weight training and good nutrition you can lose both subcutaneous and internal fat at once. This results in a loss of 1 dress size per 15 pounds fat loss, average.
