You mentioned that you lost a pound after a day of high calories. I wanted to let you know that I have read if you stay around the same low cal range your body will become super effecient with it and your metabolism will slow down.
If you vary your calories each day it will keep your body guessing and rev up your metabolism. I pretty much have to do this or I won't lose weight. I have a super low day (1200- 1400 cal) followed by a high day (1700-1800), then a couple medium days (1500-1600 cal), another very low, then high, etc. This keeps my metabolism revved up and I have better results with weight loss.
