I managed to stick to my challenge D6, although I had a crisis yesterday. Not only do I tend to eat sweets when depressed, but I also do it when I'm very positive and happy- :?:
I also caught a cold :( . Nevertheless, there is no way I will ruin my challenge just because of that. Whenever I'm close to any banned food a tiny voice tells me :nono:
See you tomorrow.
P.S. How will I know that the new thread is active?

R2, D2 for me.... so far so good.
You guys are all doing great! Keep up the good work!

Day 1: A Success!

Well, I made it through R2D1! YAY! Note to self: 64 oz water, no fru-fru drinks, limited sweets. I also got back on the exercise wagon, so we're off and running.

Linda - Looks like we're on the same schedule now! I had to start this round over a couple times, but maybe we can keep each other motivated to the next day. Hope your weigh-in goes well today. :smug:

Dragon - You're over 1/2 way done with this challenge, so don't give up now! :jig:

Apple - Great job on losing 4 lbs! That's awesome! I look forward to seeing that on the scales. :hat:

Skinny - That's what I have to do with exercise too...go straight to it from work. Do not pass go (home), do not collect $200 (fast food). It's much easier to get sidetracked if I stop at home first.

Bburougs, Eternal, Elisa - How did yesterday go? :chin:

Punkin - Still doing those girlie push-ups? One and two and three... :drill:

Don't fade out on us, friends! You can have success today!

On Day 6

Good Morning

Whew! I made it through yesterday! Almost didn't exercise but thought about this challenge and didn't won't to start over. So I did 35 minutes on the treadmill & did weights upper body.

Hervon - I did good yesterday on the water - 92 ozs. and the fruits/veggies. But also had cheetos and 2 cake donuts. I know not good food choices. My food plan need lots of work. Maybe my next challenge should be no sugary, fattttyyyy & salty, crunchy, cheesy snacks    out of the vending machine (Just thinking out loud, ladies). Get it together girl! Whew!!!, OK, hopefully today I will do better on the eating.

Appleblossom - Congrats on the 4lbs lost. Great job!

You guys are doing so great! Keep up the great work everyone!

Have a good day everyone!

well today was day 9. Almost done. Finished up the house on Sunday and took it easy yesterday... went for a walk so it counts. I am happy about the walk. I measure and weigh in on thursday but am not expecting much. I don't think that I would lose much... if anything from all that I did do. That is fine and I will come up with another challenge to start that day too.

Day 2 of Kathy Smith plan for me. I stuck with it yesterday....until my 1/2 cup of Edy's Grand Light vanilla ice cream after dinner (2 points on WW, and I did log it in my food journal). I refuse to beat myself up about eating a reasonable amount of ice cream. All my other food choices during the day were within program and I ate several servings of fruit/veg. I made some sauteed Swiss chard for dinner and served it with Lightlife Italian sausage links (they are soy, lowfat and very tasty). It was filling and made me feel very virtuous!

Hello Everyone, hope you're having success on this fine Tuesday. Today is day 9 of round 1 of my goal of journaling. I've written everything down that I've been eating in a notebook, the time of day and the calories.

What an eye opener! I've only ever journaled when I'm trying to lose or doing well. This is the first time I've just eaten without much thought or good intention and recorded it.

The grim facts: I've averaged 2282 calories a day. Only two servings of fruit and veggies a day, 1+ alcoholic drinks a day, and only one day of exercise.

Lots of room for improvement! My next goal will be getting the calories down to 1600-1800 a day, 7 servings of fruits and veggies, and 5 days of exercise for every 7 days (cardio and strength training). And cut way back of the drinking.

You all are doing great. It's fun and motivating to see how all the rest of you are doing and it keeps me accountable because I know I'm going to report back here. :D

R2D2 weigh in day.... lost 1.6 pounds! I'm on my way guys!
This is VERY hard work, isn't it? Elana, why wouldn't that lite ice cream be on program for you? If it was only 2 points, you journalled, etc. then it's an "ok" thing!
I have dessert every single night, and plan on it. I give myself enough points or I use some of my flex points. If you feel deprived, you will end up losing it all - I know from experience!

Maimers 10-12-2004 02:43 PM

Hey there. I think I am going to join in this challenge. For my first 10 days, I want to stay in my points range, and I want to do my 3 days at Curves. I figure I'll start small then start adding more and more exercising into my daily routine. :D I suppose I'll count today as Day 1 of Round 1. So, I'm doing pretty well today. I have class tonight, and I'm normally ravenous afterwards since I don't get to have dinner beforehand, but I will do my best to stay within my points range (which, shouldn't be too hard since I was pretty good all morning and afternoon!) I'll check back in tomorrow!

Hi Maimers!

Just wanted to send a quick note to you, Maimers! I am a Curves woman, too. Don't you love it?

Still OP with R2 goals! This is Day 2 for me.
Catch ya later...

Maimers 10-12-2004 03:43 PM

Hey there Hevron! I do love Curves! It really is a fun place to workout. And I always feel so good when I'm done. :D Now if I could just keep it up and go on a regular basis. It's just so hard cause of their weird hours. I would love to go on my lunch hour, but of course, they're closed for 2 hours in the afternoon. Oh well. :)

Round 1 Day 7 for me. I just left the school gym. The excercise seems to be going well. I just wish I were seeing some difference on the scale. Hopefully soon.

Welcome Maimers and Vollybchick.

Day 3 complete! :D

It almost doesn't seem like a challenge anymore, so maybe it's too easy? :dunno:

kittykitkat1971 10-12-2004 06:58 PM

My 10-day challenge

I tried WW for a month and had to cancel. I am not able to eat veggies and certain other "low-point" foods, and I was just too hungry. I did lose 3 pounds which I am happy about. I have changed to calorie counting and I have maintained my loss for 2 weeks. I have learned a lot over the past 6 weeks about portion control, healthier food choices, and the benefits of water. Now I need to punch things up.

I want to exercise daily. No excuses. Just getting myself on the treadmill or bike, or driving to the gym, is so daunting. Funny thing is, when I do it, I feel great.

I plan to exercise daily for at least 20 minutes at a time. Most of the time I end up keeping on for a good 40 minutes. But 20 is a goal I think I can achieve right now. I do have some medical issues which can at times get in the way, but I will work around that and be creative in what I do and when.

I know this is probably lame to some people, but it is a real challenge to me, and I am excited!

Here's to new habits :D
