Dear everyone,
you better all get moving because today or tomorrow I will be taking delivery of my CPAP sleep machine and they promise boundless energy much higher metabolism and an end to this dreadful fatigue. I am excited. I slept with one at the clinic last night no fun but after 3 hours less sleep in a hardly warm and cuddly place I feel much better. I have had no asthma today and have quite a bit of energy! They got me to go from 65 episodes an hour to 1.2. They said that I did not have time or oxygen to dream before.

So I am really hoping for the best and renewing my diet commitments. I need to loose a bit now. I have not really lost in a few weeks. I want to get down for tomorrow’s weigh in and then charge on next week and start the ball rolling. I am sure that being able to sleep will help. Anyone want to commit to a Post Easter surge downward? I really want to be strong this next week!

Yea to everyone who is loosing! We can and will do this. Love to all you losers Vanessa

Hi Everyone

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. It seems that there just isn't enough time in the day. I started going to a trainer and that has been amazing. Its great to finally have someone explain exactly how to exercise and what muscles are being affected. I'm currently working out 6 days a week. lol, I'm still amazed that I am doing it! I never ever thought I'd be the type of person who wants to go work out and is constantly at the gym.

In addition to the trainer I've also started a new diet plan Monday. I'm working with a dietician to help me learn what to eat and how much. I'm eating 6 meals a day and I haven't been hungry once since I started, I've actually had a hard time eating it all! They keep telling me that in a few weeks I'll be able to eat it all but it doesn't seem possible. In the first 2 days of the diet I lost 3 pounds! Who'd have thought eating would make you lose weight?

It sounds like everyone did pretty well over Easter.

*hugs* to all

Evening everyone. After Easter I am back and determined to stick to it. I feel like I did the first day I joined this challenge and hope everyone feels the same. We were all doing so great. Maybe a small extra challenge to get us encouraged again? My small challenge will be to actually be good for the entire weekend this week! I am going to do it. I have aready said no to drinks tomorrow night and my plan is to come home and and relax. I am going to exercise in the morning from now on because I just can't seem to find the time at night to do it. I get home at almost 7 and still have to prepare dinner. So I am going to set the alarm 45 mins earlier and get it out of the way first thing. I hope everyone is doing great and miss ya all!

Default Here comes the sun!!!

Good morning. It is beautiful here in middle America! It is supposed to get to 81 degrees today. Wish I could call in sick, but my boss already knows that we are camping this weekend. That would be a little too obvious. Oh well, I might take the laptop on the patio today and try and get a few extra rays.

Water Nymph - I am soooo jealous. I would love to do what you are doing. Having three more pounds gone would be awesome. Good for you for your commitment and dedication!!! What kind of foods are they having you eat? 6 meals!!! You'll have to share some of your info.

Trixi - I am going to make a mini goal to lose three pounds the next two weeks, come **** or high water!!! I have been stalled at 175 for 3 weeks now. And I am excercising almost everyday and eating what I think is pretty good, but need to see more loss.

Vegwall - I hope that you enjoy the sleep. I can't imagine what it is like to not sleep at night and it must be very hard for you, especially with kids to run after.

AZ - glad to hear that you had a nice time with your parents AND stayed with your program. Hope the 3 pounds were more than dehydration! Where in the mountains were you. Around here it is mostly flat. Mountains would be a nice change of scenery.

Lissandy - Let me give you a leg up back onto the wagon. Together we can ride it off into the sunset!

Hula, Den@, Lorias, Everyone else....Take good care of yourselve and have a great weekend!!!

Default Well, It's Friday and I feel like a slug...

I'm dissapointed in lack of self control this week. The scale is creaking, and I'm freaking..but it's nobody's fault but my own. I've been slacking off on my water, and being basically 'unhealthy', and can I feel it. We are on school vacation next week and hubby will be home, and we have to finish his downstairs office, so maybe next week will be better. I'm sure I probably won't munch as much when he's working from home everyday..

Trixie, you should be doing cartwheels- I know I'm doing them for you!

To Everybody else..

We're all starting to slack off a bit posting...We need to get back into it so we can be here for each other!!! Love to you ALLLLLL!!!

And a note to VegWall about the CPAP machine..

I feel for you.. My hubby suffered horribly ( and so didn't I LOL) from snoring and sleep apnea. The sleep specialists felt that a CPAP wouldn't help, so he opted for the surgery- recovery was a bit rough, but SOOOO worth it. As he has been low carbing and eating better, his apnea has reduced to practically non existant, and even his 'loud breathing' is gone. Might be something for you to think about down the road.. He's not sorry he did it, believe me.

Happy Friday, Everyone!!!!
Well, I've decided to stay off the scale this week. I've finally got back to eating right, exercising and feeling in control, so I don't want the scale to spoil it for me. I don't know why holidays have to ruin a really good thing, because I was on a roll. Anyway, that's in the past and on to the future.

I joined a walking group at lunchtime two days a week. I love walking with the gals, because I forget I'm exercising and enjoy the social aspect of it. We meet Tuesday and Thursday, and I'm already looking forward to next Tuesday. I took a break from the gym these last few days, but I'll get back to it next week. I start to feel guilty if I'm not there.

Trixi, congratulations on losing 3 more pounds. You go, girl!! I think I need to exercise in the morning, too. A change in schedule might be the trick. I'm taking you up on the challenge to be good in eating this weekend. What a good challenge! When we go out to dinner, I promise to only eat half of it.

Boatingmommy, thank you for your great support message. It totally got me back to reality and back to control. Have fun camping.

Waternymph, I'm so proud of you that you are exercising 6 times a week. That gives me inspiration to do that, too! Thank you.

I'm a little short on time, since I'm supposed to be getting ready to go out to dinner with my hubby. I better get going. Have a great weekend, everyone!!! Take care and I'll see you next week.
Love, Dena

I almost didn't weigh or check in today - knew the scales would be up.
I have been slacking this week - only 1 short day of exercise and I am up 2 pounds - didn't journal either and ODed on ice cream the last 2 days.

I really need to pray for motivation and some gumption this week - hard to beleive how lax I have been. Mentally I keep beating myself up for being lazy, not motivated, etc and then still eating!

Hmmm - Well I am going to try and pick myself up and get back on the wagon

I had my first night at home on the machine! I am alert! This has not happened for years. I am not painfully tired and have great hope. Lissandy, for some reason they did not think I am a good candidate for the surgery. The doctor told me that I am at such high risk we needed something to work immediately. I figure that it is annoying but the effects are worth it and then if I lose weight I can revisit the whole topic. I was in tears this morning as I thought about the last time I was not painfully tired upon awakening. I actually feel quite human. I know what you mean about your sleep. Jeff has been sleeping with one ear open to make sure that I do breath again for years. He must be exhausted. I was stopping 65 times a hour! He looks more rested too.

Well I have 7 days until my 46 birthday and I want to lose weight as a gift for myself. I would love to have you join me in a push to make this week count. I have lost a lot of inches in the past month but virtually no weight. This is discouraging. So I start today. My kids are off school next week so I am going to keep all of us moving.

Love and congratulations to everyone, we are still here and trying and that deserves recognition. I for one have quit too many times before. Love Vanessa

Default Happy Saturday Everyone!!!

Well it's a rainy and stormy day here in Toronto but I am feeling really great. My team won last night (hockey) and I woke up this morning got on the scale and I am down another 2 pounds I have almost left the 60's behind. I am hope next week I will be in the 150's.

Today Shawn is taking me to a new restaurant that serves lo-carb. They also sell the products they cook as well. I am hoping to find a new food to eat.

I am glad the we are getting back on track after the holiday. It's hard but we can do it. Just think we don't have another one for a few months and maybe by that time we will be able to have what we want and not have to worry about if it killed our diet or not.

I am going to stick to the food challenge and not cheat at all. Hope you all have a great weekend and I will let you know how the resturant went. I love the fact that I am going out to eat and I won't be cheating!

Default Hi Gals

Sorry I haven't been able to check in. I just started a new job after being at home for a couple years and I think my system is in total shock. I actually have to wake up at a certain time every morning and report to someone, oy vey. I don't think working is a natural part of life.

Well sounds like you all are doing awesome. Keep up the great work. I'll be checking in periodically. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!!

Hula - Congratulatoins on the new job!

Today is yucky outside again. Big storms this morning (I was hiding in the basement) We went to the cafe yesterday that has the lo-carb menu. I had a breakfast wrap that pretty good and very filling. I bought a few of the products. The place is really expensive and I don't beleive I will shop there to often. Afterwards we went to this new Loblaws that opened up and it sells everything. Not only did I get my groceries for the week but we also picked up a crock pot, garbage pail, Toronto Maple Leaf Underwear for Shawn, Face clothes, and a 10 foot above ground swimming pool for my daughter. Good shopping trip. Oh yeah I also picked up the WATP's 4 mile and did it went I got home. Except for the fact that it takes an entire hour to do I found it to be challenging but not exhausting. I will do that one on the weekends.

Last night I did the stupidest thing and I still feel horrible. I have three cats and they love to catch mice (well not one of them cause he's blind and the only way he could catch a mouse would be if it threw itself into his mouth and even then he would just lick the thing) anyway, my cat was swatting at something while I was watching a movie we rented and at first I thought it was just a leaf but then realized that it was a baby mouse. We thought it was dead and went and grabbed a paper towel to pick it up and flush the poor thing. I always feel really bad when my cats do that but I know it's a fact of life. Well, the mouse was not dead and I think it was just stunned alittle and not really hurt that bad. So me being me wanted to help make it better. Shawn thought I was weird but I made him get a box and we put the mouse in the box with a little but of cheese and a couple drops of water. I put the box in the computer room but the door doesn't shut all the way and I didn't want the cat to get it again so I told Shawn before we go to bed I was going to put the mouse in my daughters room (she is away for the weekend) I just wanted the mouse to feel better and then let it go tomorrow. I started to get tired and put the mouse in the room so I would not forget. Stayed up for another hour and while I was in the bathroom Shawn called me and said that my other cat (he's evil) must have been under the bed cause when he went in to turn my daughter's light off the cat ran out of the room and the box was tipped over and no more mousy. This cat eats them whole. I felt so guilty and was crying because I pretty much trapped the darn mouse and let my cat have a field day. I thought I was doing the mouse a favour but ended up just prolonging his poor life for another two hours. I am a sap for all living things, I put spiders outside and I feel truly horrible that I was responsible for this little guy's life ending yesterday. Well that was my evening.

Veg - I am happy that you are sleeping better....sounds pretty scary what you were going through. Sweet dreams for you from now on!!!!

Hope eveyone is enjoying the weekend and I hope we all check back in real soon....We still have quite a few weeks left and even through slip ups we can still do this challenge. LET'S GET IT GOING AGAIN!!!!!

Happy Saturday!

Thanks Den...I am glad I am not the only one who would feel bad....mice creep me out but they deserve a life too. This one was pretty cute. Shawn seems to think because my evil cat is still looking around the house that the baby mouse may have gotten away but I am not so sure, I think he just thought it was a snack and is now looking for the entree.

Good night

Dale
