Thank you for the warm welcome. I neglected to mention that I have a son who is 4.

I have all the exercise garb on today. All I have to do is pull out the machine. Wish me luck!

If anyone has any great tips I'll take any help I can get! All I basically drink all day (no kidding) is water, so that part I have down pat. That's enough whining from me. Thanks again!

Everyone have a great day! :)

Good afternoon!
Youi will have to forgive me for not gettting personal at all. Our computer at home is on the fritz, so I came online at the library to check email and do some research. I plan to print out the thread and get back here later. Maybe the 'puter at home will behave tonight. I survived the weekend with both Dd's- and actually it was pleasant until I had to discuss with Dd that I do not approve of her attending the same small college as her Bf.
I've spoken to our youth pastor, and Dh today and we are going to give her a ton of other options. She is stubborn............who knows how she will respond.

Welcome Julie!!!!!!!!! (pianolady?). Sorry I can't get personal, but I have only a few minutes here. These ladies are great. And congrats on losing 60#!

Hopefully my computer will get out of its hormonal mode and I can get back on later. Have a great day!

Good afternoon all!
Welcome Kleekitten! Sounds like all your exercise is really paying off! Did you say what diet plan you are on? I'm Spryng, mother of 3 (3,2, and 3 months) and wife of a great DH of 5 years. He is an OTR driver so I don't see him very much. usually once every two weeks or so. But I'm getting use to it. I'm on weight watchers after having tried so many other plans out there. I love this plan for me. It's fits perfectly into my lifestyle and allows me to enjoy all the foods I love without feeling like I am on a rigid diet. :) It's great. I can't wait to get to know you better and look forward to reading more of your posts!
Ginny I hope your computer gets fixed soon. Do you know what is wrong with it? My computer is dead but thankfully dh computer is working right until I can buy me a new one, which will be really nice. :)
My day is going really well. I had a good filling lunch ( a sandwich, quaker rice chips, and clam chowder all for 8 pts!) I don't know what I am making for dinner yet. I need to go check out my freezers and see what's in there. But this friday I have an ultrasound scheduled to check my liver and gallbladder. And also to make sure my IUD is in place. I looked for the string last night and couldn't feel it so it kinda worried me... so they will check that too. But anyway... only 3 more days until DH is home!! I'm getting excited! I can't wait to see him. The kids are getting anxious too.
Well guess I'll get off here. TTYL!

kleekitten 10-14-2003 03:17 PM

Hi Spryng! I'm not on a diet plan. The weight loss so far is the result of taking Xenadrine EFX (no, I'm not trying to promote it).

I had been down about 6 more pounds, but I'm not sure what happened. My inches are still coming off though. I know that I have to start exercising in-doors again. My exercise has been taking care of 3 acres by myself this year, but that's about at an end for the year. (Thank goodness!)

I've only seen my hubby about 30 days since Dec. 31st. It's been hard, but I started focusing on losing weight more so that he would look forward to our visits. ;)

In April I had my appendix removed, and found out one reason why I was having a hard time losing weight. I've changed my eating habits, but I didn't eat too bad to begin with. I eat less now since I only have to feed my son and myself. TMI? Ha ha!

Thanks for the response!

spryng 10-14-2003 03:34 PM

Kleekitten... you can never give to much info here!! lol. What exercises do you enjoy? I recently bought The Firm Sculpting series dvds and I love them! It's a great workout plus is really toning me. I too seem to be losing inches and my weight is coming off very slowly. I think too because I am putting on muscle weight which is a good thing. So I try not to worry about it. I do the same thing with my weight loss... I'm really focused on it now that DH is gone alot so that when he comes home he can see the changes in me! Plus I have alot more energy and he sees that more than anything else, even though I've gone down a pant size already. When do you exercise? I do it after the kids go to bed at night... that is my down time. It also helps me sleep. I try to get it in 5 days a week and take the weekends off. But this week I'm changing it because I've been stuck with my weight loss for 3 weeks so I looked into my food journal and saw that the week I lost really well I only exercised 3x's and ate at my target pts with just some of my flexpoints eaten... so I'm trying it this week to see if it will work again. I hope so.
Well I need to get off here. TTYL!

Hi!!!!!!
Welcome Kleekitten!!!! Sorry that I missed you when I was online earlier.........but I was in a bigger rush than normal. Good for you getting a lot of water in. It really helps!!!!!:) Plus think of all that excercise you get from running to the potty:lol: . Hey, I am on WW, so drinking lots of water is not foriegn to me. What kind of tips are you looking for?????

Spryng- wait a day or so before you panic about the string. Usually it does show up.....guess it is just part of the normal changes of being a woman. GLad that you are getting yourself checked out for the pain you were in. Neat how your journal showed a different eating pattern during a good week. That change might be just what you need to break out of a slump. Can't wait to see the next WI. Guarantee there will be results!!!!!!:)

My afternoon went ok. Both older kids are at Dd's soccer game, so I actually have a wee little bit of peace and quiet.....for the next 5 minutes. I am on my own computer- the hormonal part of it is ok right now. I am going to leave it on so I can come back on later. So far I am within points range and water too. Tomorrows WI (if I get there) should be interesting with my travelling and less activity. I did eat OP for the most part. If I do not go to WW tomorrow, I found another meeting on Thursday- and at this one they have spare copies of the old journals, which I like better. Nuff of my babbling. See ya later! Ginny

spryng 10-14-2003 05:26 PM

Hey Ginny!
Yes I was suprised at what I saw in my journal. Maybe I was over exercising?? I don't know. So this week I am only exercising for 3 days instead of my 5 to see how that affects me and also I'm not going to eat all of my FP's. What I had was one high day (the day I ate my pts plus some FP's) and then the rest of the day I pretty much so stayed at 22 pts a day. So that is what I am doing this week. I ate about 10 FP's on saturday and that is all I will have this week. But I know it's working already because I couldn't resist getting on the scale this morning and it was good! But I'll post my official loss on my WI day, saturday. But I'm feeling much better. And about not being able to find my string.. well I know that my period will happen any day now so I think that has alot to do with why I couldn't feel it last night. My midwife had told me to check for it a week "after" my period... so this is too early anyway... but the ultrasound friday will reveal all, lol. Can't wait to hear all about your meeting! Oh and can you let me know how much a food points slider costs to buy by itself? I may have you pick one up for me and I can reimburse you, if you are ok with that. I would like to have one in my purse... the one here at the house I'm very careful with and keep in a safe place away from the kids and such. :) I have that site I can print one off of but I have no ink right now.. figures huh? lol. Well I have to get off here, I think nap time is over :( Always nice while it lasts! TTYL!

ECmom 10-14-2003 07:47 PM

Hi!
Just a quick check in. Spryng, I'll try to get a hold of another slider, they will not sell you one, but if I plead insanity that will work! Congrats on the informal WI. I chuckled a wee bit but am happy about your non officiall WI. Sounds like going back a wee bit to the winning points works for you too. Me, I am counting it the winning points method, and finding that I am much happier.......even if I do not use them all. Trying to get to an even 20 points was driving me insane, and I just like having the extra points allocated each day unless I have a special event or blow out.
Gotta go, Ds was nice enough to let me here for a minute. Have a great nite.
Ginny

Pianolady 10-14-2003 08:12 PM

I feel like I joined and went into hiding...

I usually pride myself on never being "sick", well, sure enough I ran into a brick wall and was very under the weather today. Temperature and bad head cold. I felt so good yesterday! I resisted the temptation to exercise and took the day off, and made sure I ate enough and drank lots of water, so I should be better tomorrow.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, I'm a little slow when it comes to learning new names, so bear with me. :^:

spryng 10-14-2003 11:28 PM

Good evening all!
Ginny, why don't they sell the sliders? That seems strange. But I guess they don't want too many people getting one and not officially joining the program huh? Kinda like what I am doing!!!! LOL! But if you can't get one that is fine, I understand. Maybe I should break down and buy one of those electronic ones... ugh, they cost so much though. In the future maybe. I guess I have kinda reverted back to the winning pts method some. But I know that if a special occasion comes up I will use my flexpoints... like when DH is home this weekend. I'm sure he's going to take me out to eat so I'll plan on it. I'm glad though you were able to go back to what worked for you so well already. That is the beauty of this WOL!! :)
Julie, so sorry to hear about you being sick. DH called today and he has something like you also. Fever and body aches.. I hope he is better by friday. I sure don't want it. Rest up and we hope you feel yourself soon.
Well my day has been great. I fought with myself on exercise tonight. I know I needed it but I just feel crampy (TOM finally came!) but I knew that if I didn't get some in tonight then I would have a hard time doing it tomorrow... and I need at least 3 days worth of it this week and I know that when DH is here I won't get any in. So I just put it in and did it. I feel good now that I did. I always enjoy my workouts so it was strange for me to fight with myself over it. But now I am cooled down after my shower and I'm ready to call it a night. I hope you all had a great day and get a good nights sleep. ttyl

gemini 10-15-2003 02:45 AM

Hi gang........ I am sleepless at 2:30am, so I thought I'd check in. I had a tough day, emotionally. No appetite, as a result, so I was way under on points (-10)....... I honestly could not have forced myself to eat. I pray tomorrow is a better day, and that my benedryl kicks in soon........ hope everyone else is snoozin' like a baby.

Freckles 10-15-2003 08:17 AM

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to all you newbies here since I last posted. I used to be a real regular here & one of the founders of this thread, (along with Ginny). Somehow, time has slipped by and the unfortunate thing is that "tomorrow" turned into months, so it's been awhile since I posted last. :( I have read the current posts on this thread and I'm looking forward to joining this thread once again. Julie/Pianolady: You have given me the most incentive, as I used to surf the internet while I pedalled my recumbant bike too! The time sure does fly by when you're pedalling. So.....I guess I should dust off the bike and start my exercise program! Oh! Oh!, dd just woke up & it's time to get her ready for school. TTFN

spryng 10-15-2003 08:58 AM

JACKIE!!! I am so glad you have decided to come back to us!! Boy I have missed chatting with you. How have you been? I actually put my recumbany bike back in the closet... after I bought those Firm dvds I just don't want to peddle anymore. but I remember how much it helped you shed those lbs. I'm so happy to hear you are coming back now. :)
Jen, I hope today is better for you. If you need to talk anytime just email me ok? But try to get close to your target points today so that your body doesn't go into starvation mode. But I know it's hard when you are emotionally spent. I'm sending you a great big *hug*, I hope you feel it. :)
Well I'm ready to start another day. I have to run some errands this morning but then I'll be home all day. I just plan on doing some laundry, dishes and then relaxing. But I need to make a plan for dinner. What are all of you having today? Yesterday I had oven fried fish which was terrific. I don't know what I want for today. I'm actually craving that meat loaf again, lol. That was really good and made great sandwiches the following days.
Guess I need to get off here. Have a great day all!!! TTYL

Sandybrat 10-15-2003 09:16 AM

Hubby is gone til Thursday night... left yesterday morning so its just me and the kidlets. I havent a clue what to do for dinner. i should figure out something tho.... you know now that u mention the meatloaf that sounds sooooooooo good. LOL Does anyone have any exercises that target your hips? I think i need to start focusing on that area... Well, i am going to finish my tea and keep browsing here... take care of u...

Sandy

spryng 10-15-2003 09:32 AM

Sandy, my Firm workout really targets my hips, thighs and butt (because of the fanny lifter) I'm seeing an improvement in those areas and I've been doing those workouts for just a couple of weeks now. I know I'm losing inches because my jeans are getting loose in the waist, thighs and hip area. Yippeee!! Maybe in just a couple more weeks I'll be in a 10! That's what I'm hoping anyway. But then I'll have to go shopping because I don't have any size 10 jeans. I had lots of 14's, a few 12 (which I'm currently in) and then a bunch of 8's from the last time I lost weight, and a couple of size 6's, I guess I hung on to those because I was dreaming. But you know what? I think that when I get to my goal weight and get really toned using these firm videos I just may see a 6 again!! exciting to think about. But anyway, no 10's so Iguess that means a shopping trip! lol, not that that bothers me. :) Good for you for getting your exercise in today already. What did you do? Oh squats are excellent for hips, thighs and butt, you can do several reps of those hovering over a chair or stool... and do some where you come up very slowly and some you move a little faster (but not with momentum) I hope that makes since. Do you use a workout tape? But those squats work and boy do you feel the burn while you do them. I can finally do all of them during my workout. I've even started using the weights while I do them (3 lbs ones, they use 8 lbers, I don't think I'm ready for that yet, but I'm getting there) Doesn't that meatloaf sound good? I need to get off here and go buy some ground turkey. I think I have made up my mind on what I want to make, lol. TTYL!
