Concerning healthy lifestyle/diet tips, does anyone care to share what tools they are successfully using? Or books/websites/resources that really helped them?
I'll share:
- Fitbit Versa 3
- Fitbit Premium software - I mostly use Premium for its enhanced sleep and mindfulness features, otherwise the free version is fine.
- Cronometer nutrition app - THIS is priceless. I bought the annual fee program.
- LoseIt diet app
- Optavia/Medifast for snacks (I'm not on their 5&1 meal plan anymore but their puffs and bars keep me on plan when temptation strikes. For example, I can bring them into the movies and eat them instead of junk.)
- Personal training with fitness/nutrition guru Jeff Kotterman of TriSystem fitness (he has a YouTube channel)
- Lowcarbfriends.com (alas, their website is closed now)
- Book: Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes
- Book: The Mood Cure by Julia Ross (to help with mental health, in my case, as it relates to overeating)
I am considering trying Noom when I reach maintenance. I have yo-yo-ed enough times over the years to finally realize that I need to stay on a program for the rest of my life, like AA.
Can anyone recommend a good maintenance program?
