My lowest unconfirmed weight last year was -30.5 lbs. My lowest confirm weight last year was -28 lbs.

I overate yesterday. It seems to be a Sunday thing. I keep trying to plan better for it without success for now. By the strict numbers I was over by about 300 calories. However, if I account for my buffer I tried to build in earlier in the week even with this perceived overage, I still have an extra 900 calorie deficit.

I brought my daily calorie target down by 10 calories to account for my confirmed weight loss. Today I was 110 calories below that limit. I feel like I am in better control of my appetite which is fantastic!

My lowest unconfirmed weight this year was -30 lbs. This means I have two more pounds to go before I am in new loss territory this year. I think I may drive myself bonkers with these numbers and trying to understand how to account for them.

Today was very tough and I am surprised I made it through successfully. So when does it become a lifestyle change? Today is even harder than the first day over sixteen months ago. I miss being able to eat the quantity of food I want. I am always scaling back and I always feel it. It makes me sad and wistful.

I managed to complete an eighteen hour fast today. We'll see how it plays out on the scale tomorrow.

Hi Pipsickle! I just wanted to encourage your efforts! I think this is a great title for your weight loss. It made me think of my own weight loss too. I still have to lose at least 35 more pounds to get to an "ideal" weight. At first it was 100 pounds! It's been over a year now (since August 2020). I would definitely have the same title too! Best wishes!

Thank you for the encouragement! And congrats on how far you've come!!

Today was a turning point day. I am unofficially lower than my starting weight for the year. At -29 lbs today and was -28 lbs officially at the start of the year. Even more exciting, it puts me into Class I for obesity instead of Class II. I will celebrate in 5 months if I can keep it off and continue losing more weight.

Holding steady today, I can celebrate in just a few more months. I really want to stay here or drop more. I don't want to to bump back up into the other obesity class again.

Holding steady weight wise so far. However, I usually have higher weights on Saturday and Sunday. My full weigh-in pattern is below. I am not feeling very well. It is from someone who is sick but not with COVID. Either way, I feel lousy and I don't think I have a cold for at least two years.

Sunday- High
Monday- Middle
Tuesday- Low
Wednesday- Middle
Thursday- Low
Friday- Middle
Saturday- High

Well, today was a new recent low weight of -29.5 lbs. I know I should be excited but I feel a bit frustrated.

Typically on Fridays, I eat a very light breakfast and salads for lunch and dinner. I usually squeeze in an extra exercise session too. Then on Saturdays, my weight is up as compared to previous days.

Yesterday, I ate a ton of pizza for dinner and skipped my extra exercise and my weight goes down.

I have been really sick yesterday and today. I missed my all of my usual exercise today (walks and the elliptical). There is a reasonable probability that my weight will be even lower tomorrow. If that is the case, my scale will reset itself because it is the end of a ten pound increment. My scale resets itself every ten pounds (up or down). It has no numbers and announces your weight relative to the starting weigh-in.

I am hoping it doesn't reset tomorrow because the loss is impacted by my not feeling well. If it does reset, I will hear for several days if not weeks, you are X pounds above your starting weight. That feels discouraging; I much prefer to hear you are X pounds below your starting weight.

Oh, do I dare to hope that I am on my way? I am on the verge of being hopeful that I am finally moving forward after a year of struggling. Today, I can confirm a one pound loss. I will change my side bar to -28 lbs, from -27 lbs. This means the next confirmed loss will be lower than where I started the year. Holding my breath to see if that happens.

My target each week is to lose a half a pound. As such my theoretical daily calorie deficit needs to be 250 calories. To get the scale moving again, in practice the deficit needs to be an additional 200 calories per day. A total deficit of 450 calories per day which is very challenging for me.

A half of a large refill bottle of liquid hand soap is helping me with my psychological conundrum. As I mentioned, my scale has no numbers and only announces my weight relative to my starting weight. The scale resets itself every ten pounds whether up or down.

My scale is on the verge of resetting itself as my weight moves down through a very critical milestone for me, -30 lbs. I hit this milestone once before last November. I danced around it for a couple of months and then gained several pounds despite my somewhat desperate attempts to stop it. It was awful and demoralizing to hear for weeks you are X pounds above your starting weight. And then, even more awful, it reset- ARGHH!!

This was so painful, my preference is not to go through that again. So here I am on the cusp of the reset which I don't want unless it is going to stay. That is where the bottle of hand soap comes in. It weighs three pounds. I am going to hold it while I weigh in until the scale resets while I am holding it. At that point I should be below the vast majority of bump ups in weight I see. Although, I did see a 4.5 lb jump up one time.

All the while, I will have conflict within me. Part of me thinks this is all silly and I will never lose the weight so why bother. The other part, well, it is holding its breath. It really wants this to be the time we can say goodbye to this weight. And it will hold a bottle of hand soap for me in the unwavering belief that this is indeed the time. Bless that part of me!

My weight was at -29.5 lbs this morning.

Exciting News! My weight this morning, -30.5 lbs, was tied with my previous lowest weight along this journey. I saw this weight only twice on 26Nov2020 and 02Dec2020. And as I continually whine about, I was not able to maintain it.

The next loss will be new weight (unofficially of course).

My liquid soap bottle trick worked like a charm and my scale did not reset.

As usual, today was tough and I barely made it within my calorie limit. I was able to complete a 16 hour fast though. The target was 18 hours but I will take 16! Unfortunately, I have eaten enough tonight that it affects my planned lunch for tomorrow. If I eat as planned, I will be over on calories. I'm not sure I have it in me to make changes though.

Happy I have my liquid soap bottle trick. The scale bumped up a bit today. This is somewhat unusual as Wednesday is typically a low day.

It has turned very cool here quickly. Last night it was even sleeting but it wasn't below freezing. It didn't stick. I was a bit over on calories. Or was I? It is within the extra I am shooting for. It is difficult to get the theoretical numbers to line up with what happens in practice.

Staying the course though. Tomorrow is a skate day.

My weight was up again today. A total 2.5 lbs above recent lowest weigh a couple of days ago. I may have to buy another refill bottle of liquid soap if I don't get the weight off before I need to refill the dispensers.

Now that the weather is cooler, I have pulled out my jeans. To my dismay, they are tighter than they were this summer. The last time I wore them was in July. I really don't understand it as I am a little lighter now. I do need some new jeans, two of my pairs have holes in them. That being the case, I ordered a couple of pairs. One in the same size and one a size smaller.

And back down to my lowest weight. I've also realized my soap bottle trick helps with another issue, missing disappearing pounds. For example, if I am within a pound of my scale resetting and I lose a pound and a half, the scale resets to start the next 10 pound increment. However, it never accounts for the extra half pound loss. The weight disappears off of me and it is also missing from the grand total of weight loss.

Puttering along; staying on plan. Today was a double exercise day with the rec center and skating. Usually this means a bump up weight wise. Fingers crossed for only a small bump up.

As I have mentioned, I take a lot of supplements. None are for weight loss. I personally view most of the ones geared specifically towards weight loss as dangerous. My supplements are around blood sugar, blood pressure and fatigue. In addition, previously, I had found if I drink a tiny amount of an energy drink before skating, my skating session went better. By a tiny amount, I mean about one ounce. I don't think energy drinks are particularly healthy and wanted to get away from that practice. I started taking supplements of some of the ingredients that I thought were safe. They seemed to help but only a little bit and I was still using the energy drink if I felt really exhausted.

Long story short, about 2-3 weeks ago, I felt like my heart was racing at times. So I dropped the supplements that I was taking just because they were in the energy drink and the energy drink. I feel like I have crossed some type of energy management barrier. Probably saying a metabolic barrier would make more sense. This directly corresponds to crossing over the from Class II to Class I obesity. Makes me wonder if there is a rationale for how they made to obesity classifications.

Definitely a bump up and larger than I would have liked. However, I am able to confirm a half pound loss this morning. I will adjust my side bar from -28 to -28.5 lbs. For official, confirmed losses this is NEW weight lost!

Unfortunately, I do not have anything waiting in the wings for confirmation next week. I will be at least two weeks before I can confirm another loss.

Last night I thought I was doing okay dinner wise but over did it with sauces to the tune of 260 calories. I will pay more attention next time. Already over calorie wise today. Working to minimize the total damage. Calories reset at 5:00 pm.
