day 50 ...
no late-night eating ... 8 days in a row ... yet another new world record !!! last night was a bit of a challenge though. had trouble falling asleep so, of course, my food-addicted brain told me that a quick snack would be just what i needed to relax. i didn't give in though. have been craving one of my favourite treats; a starbucks oat bar. a ton of carbs and calories in these things. i was seriously thinking of getting one with my rewards points (love the starbucks !) then i looked at the calendar; i am less than 2 weeks removed from the christmas/new years indulgences ... too early. so despite a couple of challenges, i have stayed on course. need to find a way to reward myself that doesn't include a bunch of sugar. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 51 ...
the good news ... no late-night eating ... 9 DAYS IN A ROW ... uncharted waters and another new world record for joe !!! now the bad news ... while grocery shopping i took a stroll down memory lane AKA the baked goods section. examined a lot of items but the result was always the same ... massive calorie load. i stood my ground. then i veered down the cereal aisle ... MISTAKE ... examined a box of cereal that i am very familiar with, having bought literally hundreds of boxes of this in my lifetime ... " shredded wheat and bran". a healthy cereal by just about any yardstick you care to use, i sez, as i place it in my cart, somehow "forgetting" that wheat will almost always result in a morning headache, the intensity of which is in direct proportion to the amount eaten. fortunately i didn't go overboard but i compounded the issue by mixing in some salted sunflower seeds ... DELICIOUS, but packing a huge calorie load. so, for clean-eating, as i define it, i score a fail. now i am faced with the herculean effort of tossing out perfectly edible food. hope the birds appreciate this. took a long time to fall asleep last night, but once i did, i slept fairly soundly. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... FAIL. |
day 51 ...
no late-night eating ... 10 DAYS IN A ROW ... new world record !!! the bad news ... rather than toss out the cereal, which any intelligent person would do, knowing that it gives them a headache, i decided to eat a few handfuls ... DUH ! who had a headache this morning ? tossing it out right after breakfast. i thought that giving up bread would be difficult, but this is bordering on pathetic. once again, i have to give myself a fail on clean eating, as anything that makes you sick, no matter how healthy it may be for most others, is NOT clean eating. night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... FAIL. |
day 52 ...
no late-night eating ... 11 DAYS IN A ROW ... ANOTHER NEW WORLD RECORD !!! it came with a price though ... had a very difficult time falling asleep and was hungrier than i have EVER been since i started the new eating style, in spite of having had a large dinner and feeling full afterwards. it took a lot of effort to not grab something to eat to help "knock me out". in addition, i woke up with a pretty good headache despite having no wheat at all the previous day. i did have some uncooked oatmeal and that has been one of my suspects for a while. will be watching that closely. also had a lot of chick peas, and legumes of any kind are also on my"watch" list. anyhow, through all this i managed a 3 star day. we have a break in the rain today, so that's always welcome in january. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean-eating ... WIN. |
day 53 ...
no late-night eating ... 12 days in a row ... another new world record !!! fairly uneventful day. having achieved so much success in the late-night eating department i have noticed that i am getting a bit lax with my water intake; not enough to give myself a fail, but definitely falling back sometimes into the habit of snacking, rather than drinking water. will be correcting that. clean-eating is becoming a habit now, but i need to find a bit more variety. tomorrow is the weekly weigh-in and it's looking good for a 1 lb. loss for the week, which is the goal. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ...WIN. |
day 54 ... weigh-in day ...
no late-night eating ... 13 days in a row ... another new world record !!! this is why i think that journaling ones progress is so helpful. i can look back and see how hard i struggled to string together 2 days in row of no late-night eating. i have come a long way in this area. yesterday was a football-watching day; very inactive and thus, reaching for snacks more often than i would have liked. it's fortunate that there is really almost nothing unhealthy to eat in the house. still got adequate water in me though. the weigh-in ... scale showed a 1 lb loss for the week, which was rewarding; the scale seems to be finicky with a discrepancy of +/- 2lbs depending on it's mood, so it was nice to see a loss for the week. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN; weekly weight loss ... WIN. |
day 55 ...
funny how the days add up if you just stay with the program, and there's the rub ... the program has to be something you can live with over the long haul. willpower is a key ingredient, but willpower alone will take most of us only so far. no late-night eating ... 14 days in a row ... another new world record !!! yesterday was a good day. took my grandson to his off-season training and walked around the track for OVER an hour, only taking a washroom break about 40 minutes in. first real exercise i have had in MONTHS. I thought that a) i would sleep like a baby last night and b) would be stiff as a board this morning. oddly, neither thing happened; go figure. still waking up with morning headaches as often as not. had some oatmeal, both cooked and uncooked during the day. oatmeal is on my watchlist and has been for some time, particularly uncooked. i have read that oatmeal can be cross-contaminated with traces of wheat during production ... so there's that. night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ...WIN. |
day 56 ...
no late night eating last night ... 15 days in a row ... another new world record ! it can't be co-incidence that the scale is responding nicely to this period of no late night eating. on the down-side, woke up with a pretty good headache this morning and i did eat a fair bit of uncooked oatmeal yesterday. oatmeal now moves from the watchlist to prime suspect status, particularly when uncooked. haven't had red meat for at least 56 days, probably longer, and i have been craving it lately. i tend to eat WAY too much of it so i will have to buy a pound or so and divide it up into 1/4lb packets which i can then defrost 1 at a time. yesterday makes 5 - "3 star" days in a row, my longest streak yet and, as already stated, the scale is loving this. there's a saying that goes something like "plan the work and work the plan"; right now that is looking like good advice. night time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 57 ...
no late-night eating ... 16 days in a row ... another new world record !!! yesterday went well, weather was good for a change, kept busy, got some walking in, slept well. weather forecast for today looks good too. it's always a big deal to get a sunny day in vancouver anytime during nov. - feb. i now have strung together 6 - "3 star" days in a row. i know there is a challenging day lurking somewhere ahead, but for now things are ticking along nicely. in the headache department, i ate only COOKED oatmeal, as well as a muffin and in the morning i had only a very slight headache, so uncooked oatmeal remains on the prime suspect list. definitely not giving myself a demerit for the muffin as my calorie intake was low for the day. night time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 58 ...
no late-night eating ... 17 days in a row ... another new world record !!! yesterday went well, as i had anticipated. good weather, plenty to keep me busy outside and no stress. a recipe for success. have now strung together 7 "3 star" days in a row; also another new world record ! in the headache department there are 3 things worth noting. woke up with no trace of a headache. the day before i had TWO separate servings of COOKED oatmeal, no dairy whatsoever (not even lactose-free), and i have eaten an apple a day over the last 2 days. apples were once high on the suspect list and it's an interesting co-incidence (?) that having had no dairy whatsoever, i had a headache-free morning. will be buying my usual yogurt and cottage cheese today, so we shall see where this goes. night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 59 ...
no late night eating ... 18 days in a row ... another new world record ! not that i was without temptation; looking at it in print, it might appear that i am having an easy time with this aspect of things ... yes and no ... old habits die hard, and i am tempted every night, but the gap between my after-dinner dessert and bed-time is only about 1 - 2 hours so applying a little willpower in this area goes a long way. the encouraging news of the day is that i had healthy servings of both yogurt and cottage cheese (all lactose-free), as well as a serving of COOKED oatmeal, and this morning no trace of a headache. this moves UNCOOKED oatmeal into prime suspect/red flag/high alert status. will see how this plays out. yet another "3 star" day, making 8 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 60 ...
no late night eating ... 19 days in a row ... another new world record !!! while some nights are definitely better than others, the trend seems to be towards falling asleep quicker and sleeping more soundly; hope this continues. again, i had 2 servings of COOKED oatmeal and my usual intake of lactose-free yogurt and cottage cheese, with not a trace of a headache this morning. i have been fooled before in this area, but will continue to monitor this; looking good right now. if i can keep oatmeal as a regular part of my eating regime that will be a huge plus, as i need the fibre and love the taste. i actually prefer the taste when it's UNCOOKED, but will be happy to stay with cooked if it means the end of the morning headaches. another "3 star " day, making 9 in a row and, of course, the scale is rewarding me. tomorrow is weekly weigh-in day and it's looking like a happy one right now. night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 61 ...
no late-night eating ... 20 days in a row ... another new world record !!! today is weekly weigh-in day, and the scale has rewarded me for a REALLY good week of working the plan ...195 lbs. ... down 2 lbs for the week ! the only blemish on the week was yesterday; football watching day. i found myself snacking a lot instead of reaching for water ... old habits die hard. didn't even realize i was doing it until evening. it may be no co-incidence that i woke with a headache this morning. even though i had maybe 3 glasses of water i wonder whether i dropped past a water-intake threshold that pushed me into dehydration territory. i checked through my entire journal and there is a strong enough correlation between low water intake and morning headaches that i will be watching this very closely. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... FAIL; clean eating ... WIN; weekly weigh-in ... WIN ... down 2 lbs. |
day 62 ... no late-night eating ... 21 days in a row ... another new world record !!!
slept well but woke with a headache. i did have a small amount of mayonnaise as well as a small amount of regular dairy; could i be THAT sensitive to lactose ? watching carefully. have to give myself a fail in the clean eating category for this sin. still looking for ways to get more fibre in my diet. when i was eating half a loaf of bread (or more) a day, fibre was not an issue; not at all. night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... FAIL. |
This is amazing. Personally, i have tried drinking water and quitting wheat but 3 days into it and then quit for a few days and so on.
You doing great. |
day 63 ...
no late-night eating ... 22 days in a row ... another new world record !!! slept well, no morning headache (note : no dairy at all). even had reasonable-sized servings of ground beef the last 2 days. a nice change from chicken and fish, with no unpleasant readings from the scale. in the bad old days i would make a BIG stir-fry with massive amounts of ground beef and onion sauteed in a fair bit of oil. becoming calorie-conscious pretty much rules out that sort of behaviour. was blissfully unaware of how many calories were in a pound of hamburger. a 3 star day. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 64 ... 194.5lbs ...
no late night-eating ... 23 days in a row ... another new world record ! i was tempted though ... walked through the kitchen to close a blind and there was a juicy, sweet, cara cara orange on the counter. for just a second i almost instinctively went for it ... old habits sure do die hard. on the headache front, i was woken early by a fairly bad headache. having gone 2 days without headaches and not having eaten ANY dairy on the 2 days preceeding, dairy is now on my watch list. i buy only lactose-free dairy products and having done a bit of searching i haven't come across anyone stating that this is an issue, but i have to keep an eye on it now. have some cottage cheese (one of my absolute favourite foods) in the fridge so it's going to be hard to leave it alone for a couple of days to test this out. i also had some prunes for the first time in months, so this is on the watchlist as well. EDIT : had some PARMESAN. aged cheeses contain a substance called "tyramine", known to cause headaches in some people. PRUNES also contain tyramine. a 3 star day ... 2 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 65 ... 193.5 ... lbs. ...
no late-night eating ... 24 days in a row ... another new world record !!! as i read my own entries it can look like i am having no trouble with the late-night eating. not so; the gap between my after dinner "dessert" and bedtime is so brief that i get by on willpower alone, but i absolutely do not see myself able to do this for the rest of my life. i am hungry and tempted every night. i am 3 - 4 months away from target at my current pace and, unless my evening yearning for food changes, i plan on having a late-late-night snack when i get to maintenance mode. at least it will be a healthy snack, not like in the bad old days when i could gobble down 6 slices of bread with butter and jam and a litre of milk; i am not going back there. on the headache front ... no dairy or prunes yesterday and no headache this morning. today i will have some of my beloved cottage cheese and avoid the yogurt and prunes and see how things go tomorrow morning. i can live without the yogurt, would reluctantly give up the prunes, but would be sad if i have to give up cottage cheese. a 3 star day ... 3 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 66 ... 193.5 lbs. ...
no late-night eating ... 25 days in a row ... another new world record !!! NO headache at all this morning. yesterday i ate cottage cheese, as planned, but couldn't resist having some prunes as well, so the issue is either with the yogurt, which is supposed to be much higher in tyramine than cottage cheese, OR it's the cumulative effect of all 3 of these foods. TBD. a 3 star day ... 4 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 67 ...
no late-night eating ... 26 days in a row ... another new world record !!! only a slight headache this morning. yesterday i ate just 2 prunes, a smallish amount of cottage cheese and a smallish amount of yogurt, so i am thinking that quantity matters here and also that yogurt, being higher in tyramine, should probably be scratched off my food plan, or at least be used very sparingly. TBD. not going to list my daily morning weigh-in any more; just weekly. i know that the scale is only accurate to within +/- 3 lbs, and i can deal with that in my head, but to see a "gain" on-screen is somewhat unsettling. i am in this for the long-haul, so a weekly weigh-in is going to show the trend better, i think. a 3 star day ... 5 in a row ! night-time eating ...WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
Congratulations!
|
day 68 ...
no late-night eating ... 27 days in a row ... another new world record !!! yesterday morning i had half a pancake with breakfast, along with the accompanying syrup and butter. this is probably going to be a regular thing as it's a weekly post-workout breakfast with the grandson, so i am not giving myself demerits for it. my "clean-eating" efforts have been so good that i think i can afford the empty calories that go with it. for water intake, i think i was treading very close to "not enough", but i will also not give myself a demerit here as i was probably very close to, perhaps actually achieving, adequate intake. i just mention it because i don't want to slacken off and fall into dehydration mode. on the headache front ... was knocked out of bed with a medium-strength headache. i had eaten no prunes, no cottage cheese but a fair bit of yogurt the day before. going to switch it up today and have some cottage cheese and no prunes or yogurt. i love the prunes, and the fibre is needed, but i consider dried fruits to be a "luxury" food, and i don't want to have them too often. a 3 star day ... 6 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 69 ...
no late-night eating ... 28 days in a row ... another new world record !!! yesterday went well. NO morning headache. as planned, i stayed away from the yogurt and had a fair bit of cottage cheese. it's only 1 day, but i am hoping that i am zeroing in on the main culprits. will have a yogurt-free day today and see what happens tomorrow morning. i miss bread, and my body misses the large quantity of fibre that it has. i DO have 2 slices of toast with my saturday morning breakfast but that's all. when i have reached my goal weight i would like to incorporate a small amount of bread into my daily eating plan, but not sure how to go about doing it. i don't think i should keep a loaf or a package of bagels around; past experience shows that i will inhale it. i would have to make a daily trip to the store to buy just 1 bagel or 1 bun. TBD. a 3 star day ... 7 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 70 ...
no late-night eating ... 29 days in a row ... another new world record ! now 2 days eating no yogurt and 2 mornings with no headache. this is a small sample, to be sure, but i am hopeful that i have discovered something, had plenty of cottage cheese, too. real lousy weather here, cold and wet slushy west coast snow ... blah. will have to keep myself busy indoors so that i don't keep snacking all day. the scale, after stalling out for a while, has now responded to all the good days i have strung together ... yay ! a 3 star day ... 8 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 71 ...
no late-night eating ... 30 days in a row ... another new world record !!! now 3 days with no yogurt. had a very slight headache this morning, hardly worth mentioning, but when you have been dealing with morning headaches for such a long time, they are all of interest, no matter how mild. last night i had a couple of shots of baileys to try to help me sleep, as i felt wide awake, so the mild headache may be attributable to the alcohol. when i woke up, i was feeling a little tired of the whole weight-loss thing. now that i have breakfast and coffee in me i feel much better about it. the plan is working; staying the course ! a 3 star day ... 9 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 72 ...
no late-night eating ... 31 days in a row ! that's a full month anyway you slice it and another new world record !!! now 4 days with no yogurt. again, a very slight headache in the morning and the only suspect left is (lactose-free) cottage cheese, which i ate a fair bit of. would hate to have to give it up; will try to keep the intake down to a cup or less and see what happens. i believe oranges and bananas, which i also eat at least 1 of every day, contain tyramine; will have to confirm that. edit : oranges are listed as being high in tyramine, as fresh fruits go. also, i had 2 slices of salami, also high in tyramine. love oranges, will have to watch my intake. today is the boys' birthday dinner ... will be eating smokies and probably a cake of some kind. if there is cake or ice cream it will be very challenging to keep it down to just one serving. also, smokies, not to mention the cake, are probably crammed with wheat, so things could get painful tomorrow morning. a 3 star day ... 10 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 73 ...
no late night eating ... 32 days in a row ... another new world record !!! last night was maybe the most difficult that i have had in this glorious 32 day run. i actually took an orange out of the fridge to warm up to room temperature then spent the rest of my waking hours trying to justify eating it. in the end, i thought it would be a shame to end my winning streak so i persevered and did not eat it. the reason it was so difficult is that earlier in the evening we had a grandkids birthday dinner. i knew that this was coming, of course, and had long ago given myself permission to have cake and some other food-like substances as well. in addition to the cake i had smokies, mac and cheese and corn chips, even a glass of orange pop. i know from experience that eating sugary stuff only results in wanting more of it, thus the powerful urge to eat later that evening. anyhow, i got through it and the cake wasn't really that good, i would have been happier with a toasted bagel with butter and jam, to be honest. the pop was a pure sugar indulgence; refreshing for a moment but always leaves you wanting more. i enjoyed the smokies and mac and cheese, but it's good to have it out of the way and get back to clean eating (no demerit for this by the way ... it was anticipated/planned/permitted). edit : worth noting; no headache whatsoever after all that junk. go figure. a 3 star day ... 11 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 74 ...
no late-night eating ... 33 days in a row ... another new world record !!! still tempted every single night, though. what keeps me motivated is A) wanting to keep the weight loss going, B) wanting to make this into a real life-long habit and C) not wanting to break this glorious string of victories ! now 6 days without yogurt and no morning headaches. it occurs to me that this is more important ... MUCH more important than the weight loss. yogurt is no longer a regular part of my grocery shopping list, along with aged cheeses of any sort. tomorrow morning is the weekly weigh-in and, unless i go off the rails, i should be showing a loss of 1 or 2 lbs for the week. a 3 star day ... 12 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 75 ...
no late-night eating ... 34 days in a row ... another new world record !!! last night was very hard, and that makes 2 difficult nights in a row. i think i may be slacking off in the water department; i don't actually count the glasses but i have noticed that the last 2 days i have been snacking more and probably drinking less. going to have to re-focus on this aspect of things. now 7 days with no yogurt and 7 days with no headache. the correlation is simply too strong to ignore. monday is weekly weigh-in day and i have showed a loss of only 1/2 lb. for the week. better than a gain, to be sure, and the scale isn't super accurate, but this week i am going to focus on water intake and just a wee bit less snacking. i am toying with the idea of cutting back on day-time snacking and introducing a late-late night snack if i keep having difficult nights like these last two. not giving myself a 3 star day as a wake-up call to make sure i am drinking enough water in the future. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... FAIL; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 76 ...
no late-night eating ... 35 days in a row ... another new world record !!! last night was a lot easier, simply because i had dinner/dessert SO late. had a bit of trouble getting to sleep though, so there's that. 8 days in a row with no yogurt and no morning headache. also in the headache department, i have eaten COOKED oatmeal many times now and no headache. UNCOOKED oatmeal is still on my watch list but having determined that the main culprit seems to be yogurt and aged cheeses, i may roll the dice and try some uncooked in the near future. came up short on the water intake again yesterday. i thought that i had this part nailed down early, so this is a bit puzzling. old habits die hard i guess. i have been snacking when i should be drinking (water) and it is definitely hurting, but not entirely eliminating, my calorie deficit when i do that. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... FAIL; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 77 ...
no late-night eating ... 36 days in a row ... another new world record !!! will i ever get used to it though ? 9 days in a row with no yogurt, but i had 2 servings of bread in the morning and 2 servings of UNCOOKED oatmeal later in the day, along with 2 apples . woke up with a mild/middling headache and any one, or all 3, of those things have long been on the suspect list, particularly bread, but i always felt that bread , if eaten early enough in the day, wasn't causing headaches. there won't be any bread today and i will avoid uncooked oatmeal. i'll try eating 2 apples and see if i am ok with them. got back on track with adequate water intake today, so that's good news. a 3 star day. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 78 ...
no late night eating ... 37 days in a row ... another new world record !!! that part of it just isn't getting any easier, but somehow i manage to be getting through it night after night. fairly bad headache this morning. having had no yogurt; the prime suspect is the half-grapefruit that i had. grapefruit and oranges known to have "small" amounts of tyramine ... so there's that. no demerit in the clean-eating category as i had believed that i was ok with grapefruits and oranges. will be monitoring those two things now. threw away the remaining 1 1/2 grapefruits. a 3 star day ... 2 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 79 ...
no late-night eating ... 38 days in a row ... another new world record !!! last night was, for whatever reason, noticeably easier than other nights. will just go with it, i guess. no morning headache ... the only "questionable" food i had was a single sourdough bun. no yogurt/prunes/grapefruit/oranges/bananas/oatmeal; so there's that. a 3 star day ... 3 in a row ! the scale is telling a good story, too. hope it still looks good at the monday morning weigh-in. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 80 ...
no late-night eating ... 39 days in a row ... another new world record. was difficult, as it almost always is, but it's the one area where a little self-discipline really goes a long way. no morning headache; ate 2 apples, a banana and some cooked oatmeal, so those items are starting to look pretty safe for me. failure on the water intake though; got busy working outside and just never took the time to pour a glass or two, so i only had the 1 morning glass and 1 in the evening. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... FAIL; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 81 ...
no late-night eating ... 40 days in a row ... another new world record !!! no morning headache ... 2 days in a row. again, i ate, throughout the day : an apple, 2 bananas, cooked oatmeal and cottage cheese. i was worried about over-ripe bananas because they are known to have more tyramine , and really ripe is the way i like them. might try an orange today; if not, definitely tomorrow. today is football-watching day so probably going to indulge in some rather high-calorie chicken wings and maybe finish off the bottle of baileys that has been hanging around since before xmas. tomorrow is weekly weigh-in day and it's still looking good in that department. a 3 star day. night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 82 ...
no late-night eating ... 41 days in a row ... another new world record !!! had a middling headache this morning. yesterday i ate an orange, a lot of grapes and a blueberry bagel. the bagel is the number 1 suspect. bread of all kinds is off my list of acceptable foods but this was an exception that i allowed as a super-bowl "treat" ; some treat ! it's funny that i have had a bottle of baileys irish cream (which i REALLY like) in the fridge for over a month and a half, but from the moment i brought that bagel home i could hardly stop thinking about it. no demerit for the bagel as it was a conscious, planned transgression for the super bowl. a 3 star day ... 2 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 83 ...
no late-night eating ... 42 days in a row ... another new world record !!! SLIGHT headache this morning, the suspects are 1 orange plus 1 banana. sucks to have to be so careful about what one eats , but that is the new reality for me. just have to focus on the fact that i CAN eat these things in small amounts, and there is a huge variety of foods that i CAN eat with no problem. other than the morning headache, i fell asleep rather easily and slept rather soundly throughout the night, so there's that. a 3 star day ... 3 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 84 ...
no late-night eating ... 43 days in a row ... another new world record !!! pretty bad headache ... started around bed-time making it difficult to fall, and stay, asleep. finally took a couple of pain-killers somewhere around 5:30AM. having eaten super-clean all day with no transgressions whatsoever i was puzzled. just finished a quick search and found that regular ole' green peas are a source of tyramine, and for last nights dinner i finished off the bag ... what i would consider 2-3 normal servings ... so there's that. no demerit for clean-eating as it was unintentional and i was totally unaware. a 3 star day ... 4 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 85 ...
no late-night eating ... 44 days in a row ... another new world record !!! bad headache this morning; knocked me out of bed about 2 hours early ... AGAIN. food-wise, the only real suspect is that i overdid it a bit with the cottage cheese and had 2 oranges. HOWEVER ... i have come to realize that as soon as i get a coffee in me the headache quickly vanishes. i have read that caffeine withdrawal can occur 12 - 24 hours after the last dose. i am very sporadic about having a mid-day coffee ... sometimes i will have one around noon, sometimes hours later, sometimes not at all. starting today, i am going to make a point of having a coffee around 6 - 8 pm and see where that takes me; i may be onto something here, or not . TBD. not worried about it keeping me awake as it doesn't seem to affect me that way since i cut my consumption back a few years ago. the scale showed a 3lb. gain since yesterday morning !!! i know the scale is finicky but that is disturbing. can't be right though, even a staggering 2000 calorie overage wouldnt produce that kind of gain in 24 hours. eager to see what it says tomorrow. a 3 star day ... 5 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
day 86 ...
no late-night eating ... 45 days in a row ... another new world record !!! NO headache this morning. had a cup of coffee, as planned, at 7pm and it didn't affect my ability to sleep, as expected. ate 2 oranges and a lot of cottage cheese. this is day 1 of the "evening coffee" plan. the scale has recovered from it's 3lb. spazz so i am feeling relieved about that. a 3 star day ... 6 in a row ! night-time eating ... WIN; water intake ... WIN; clean eating ... WIN. |
