Dropping inches not lbs...
Hey folks!!
I'm on my weightloss journey to get down to 140lbs...currently sitting at 160lbs and well and truely stuck!!I'm still losing inches every week but the scales stay the same... Now I know weightloss isn't just about the number on the scales and it's probably gaining muscle etc but I need to get the weight off so I can ride more ponies during the summer. So as pleased as I am with my progress I started up at 170ish I really do need to keep these lbs shifting... I'm currently doing as much walking as possible during this covid lockdown, I eat clean and lean, lots of good lean meats, salad, green veg. If I have carbs I keep to brown rice etc. I'm just looking for any tips and advice for anyone who has been in the same situation? Hope everyone is well and keeping safe Thanks in advance x |
It's hard to lose 20 lbs when you're not very fat to begin with.
It's much easier to go from 250 to 210, than to lose 20 when you're probably near a 25 BMI now ? |
I've just checked on NHS calculator....bmi still 29.4 yikes

Just remember that the time will pass regardless. If you do nothing or go back to eating less nutritious foods you will likely gain weight. If you keep at it you will lose weight, provided you are taking in less than you are using up. Maybe shake it up a little and add some weight lifting or high intensity interval training to your exercise routine? As stubborn as the weight is, you have to keep going forward or you will go backwards. Keep going!

Still no biggie, you're basically average at like 5-2 ,160 or so, nothing major, like I need to lose 75 lbs ! Those 20 lbs will be hard to lose since you aren't really that fat to begin with You may think you are fat, but you are quite average, in reality ! Most adults have 30 +++ lbs of blubber on their tummy ! |

Do you really think it matters to a pony if you are 160 or 140 ?
I rather doubt 20 lbs would matter much there ! |

Getting rid of inches really is a big deal in quarantine
|
Really pleased with my progress, just a pain I need to get to 10 stone....other wise I wouldn't even weigh myself

I find that making sure I get my water in helps, as does changing up my activity. A change in type of exercise may help shift things. Are you calorie tracking? Maybe try cutting back one ounce of protein on your servings. ALso the BMI calculators can be faulty. You may be leaner than you think but it is muscle which weighs more and the calculator doesnt take that into consideration. Still since your goal is a scale goal for riding, the BMI really doesnt matter as much. One thing-- I do an occasional 24 hour fast with water and gatorade (sugar free) once in awhile. That seems to jump start things again for me. It is going to be slow going when you have so little to lose, so you may have to be patient
