Barely squeaked by today with a deficit. I dare say if it weren't Halloween, I would have done better. Went ice skating at the busier rink and it was quiet. Plus, the ice was groomed better.

Happy to report a 2 pound loss for October and a confirmed 1.5 pound loss for the week. Eating has been completely off the rails today though. Will regroup and try to do better tomorrow!

Yesterday, eating wise, was terrible! Oh My! I actually stopped counting- stupid lack of self control and leftover Halloween candy. I didn't even weigh myself this morning- so rare for me. I thought I read somewhere that the human body can only absorb so many calories at a time. I really hope that is true. If it is, I'd like to know how many that is!

Today I am doing my best to get back on track but I think it will take more grit than I have. I should be done eating for the day and have a modest calorie deficit to my name. Unfortunately for me, my appetite is ferocious right now. It is like my body has become aware that it is losing weight and it doesn't want to let it go. I've tried all of my tricks to no avail. Currently white knuckling it! How can a mini candy bar be worth more to me than my health and longevity?

So, I made it through yesterday. After nearly crying over uneaten candy, my ferocious appetite dissipated into nausea. Then it would reappear again and repeat the cycle. Going from feeling really hungry to feel nauseated seems unusual to me and I've had it happen before. I've tried to look it up but wan't able to find anything.

Did better today and am on plan. The scale has gotten wise to my antics and was up two pounds this morning. My saving grace is it is an unofficial weight and I have a chance to balance things out by weigh-in day.

I went bike riding and ice skating today. I wonder how many other people do both on the same day. I spent an hour and a half exercising today.

Wanted to have a snack before bed last night but was able to skirt by without one. Scale is looking good. If I can hold this weight until weigh-in day, I will be able to confirm another loss. So close to being 'regular' obese rather than class II obese. Two more pounds to go.

I really like the ketone test strips. They are the most consistent indicator for me that I am on track. Scales can be so finicky.

So November 2, was my weight-versary of losing 10 pounds. I had planned on wearing an extra 10 pounds in a backpack the whole day but was too tired. My hubby brought one of his 10 pound plates (weight) for me to use. It seems so heavy- very glad I am not carrying that around on my body any more. Still debating on whether or not I will carry it for a whole day.

Had to edit yesterday's post. I ended up eating more for no good reason. Seemed most from compulsion- I thought of a food and ate it because it was stuck in my heat to. Such a long journey. Not surprisingly the scale was up today. I've been really tired again lately and I think that plays into this stupid overeating.

Tomorrow, my day is all topsy-turvy and I will be visiting a relative. They asked me to come on a short notice. It is a two hour drive there and back with the possibility of snow. I will make tomorrow my rest day and will exercise on Sunday instead.

Ooohhh!!! This compulsive eating is keeping me overweight. I had an out loud argument with myself on the way home from my relatives about whether or not to stop for fast food. I don't usually talk to myself but was really trying to sort it all out. I ended up not stopping but then ate just as many calories as I would have if I did stop when I got home. The whole day lost in about 20 minutes!

Ate too much again today for someone who is trying to be healthier. I tracked every bit of damage and have a plan to get back on track. However, a key part of said plan is to say 'no' or at least 'not now' to myself. A skill I am lacking in at the moment.

So I had planned on exercising today since I rested yesterday. I have been so tired today, I just couldn't. This is also playing into my poor food choices. Not entirely sure how I will get this turned around. The fatigue is bad enough that I would go to the doctor for it. However, I've done that in the past. All I get are shoulder shrugs and referrals to other doctors which in and of itself is exhausting.

In order to exercise at the rec center, I need to have a reservation. Today I forgot to make them ahead of time. However, they have a kiosk you can use to sign up right in the lobby. I was in the process of signing up but I needed the last two available slots (hubby was there too). Someone beat me to it! I was almost through the process and got kicked out. We talked to the folks at the desk to no avail. They know us and thought we were going to get the last two slots. They had even written us in on the paper. Ultimately, we had to leave without getting to use the facilities. Now I have to decide if I am going to try to go tomorrow to make up for it. Going outside of my routine doesn't usually work for me.

The second thing I did when I got home was to sign up for the rest of the month. I would have made them for December too but it wasn't available yet. The first thing was dinner- LOL!

Stopped out of more exercise sessions due to Covid restrictions. I was registered for ice skating today. When I showed up at the appointed time, I was turned away. It was canceled due to the 'Safer at Home' order from the county. I was particularly annoyed because they didn't even bother to send an email. Another unlucky person also showed up for skating before me and was turned away. However, they did let someone on the ice to skate- lucky duck. I had a really full day for work. I was already pushing it by heading to skating so that compounded my frustration.

Then I tried to set up an appointment for the rec center but they were totally booked. As soon as December sessions are available for the rec center, I am going to book them!

For me personally- Safer at Home = unhealthier!

Pipsicle, I'm sorry you are losing out on your opportunities to exercise. You are doing so well with it and your good intentions aren't turning out well. I hope you will be able to get some appointments. I'm glad they are taking precautions to protect the clients.

I went to my alternate ice skating rink today. Figured I better go since I am not sure when the next chance to ice skate will come along. This was the last public skate session they had posted. They usually post more soon but who knows what's going to happen these days. It was over the lunch hour but I really needed that time to prep for some meetings tomorrow. I paid the price and had to work well into the evening tonight. I'm pretty tired so hopefully I'll sleep well.

The scale said it was a new low weight this morning. I simply don't believe it. Wish I had more confidence in my efforts.

Went to the rec center today to make up my missed Monday workout. I missed Monday because they were too full and I was turned away- not because I didn't try. I made up my Tuesday ice skating yesterday. I missed Tuesday because they canceled it and I was turned away- not because I didn't try. I will make up my Thursday ice skating tomorrow. The wouldn't let anyone register for ice skating today. Tomorrow, my ice skating reservation is 4-6 and my rec center reservation is 4-7. I'll have to give some consideration to timing. I think I will go ice skating first. It will be better to do that on fresher legs.

Let's see...the scale said I had another new low weight today. So strange since it happened yesterday too. I will not be fooled though. These are false low weights. It will take at least a month to confirm them with official weekly weigh-ins. Did I say a month? Nay, it will truly be more like two months and that's if all goes well. Just need to keep at it- ounce by ounce.
