Huh-zah! The belt and the seltzer were enough to keep me on track last night. The mysterious weight creep up just before weigh-in day has started. We shall see what it says tomorrow. All in all though these daily and weekly weights don't matter. What really matters is what I weigh one year from now. I really want it to be lower! I am 16 pounds lower now that I was last year at this time. Boy, I really want to keep it up! It would be nice to speed it up but my body doesn't work that way. My subconscious teams up with my inner saboteur to sink any effort to be on a faster track.
The weather was warm enough so I was able to go on a bike ride. Plus, I went ice skating today. I'd like to get back to going twice a week like I was before Covid times.

Was able to confirm a half pound loss this morning- Yay! I have another half pound banked to confirm next week. I am way over on calories today. I may need to re-evaluate as this seems to be the case every Sunday.

My weight loss ship ran aground last night. Not sure what happened. I can't even blame my inner saboteur. The captain just went missing. I think it was mostly energy seeking behavior or just compulsive eating. So far I have gotten a break and the scale has not noticed. I also have a plan to get back on track.
This is just as things are getting exciting. I am close to crossing through an obesity level (from class II to just regular obese).

On track for today and seemly back on track overall but as always it is a challenge.
So, here is the straight up weird thing I did today. My kiddo used the sugar for something and left it sitting on the counter. I walked over, took out a spoon, scooped up some sugar and ate it - just like that on automatic pilot. It was the darnedest thing. I don't eat plain sugar like that. At the time I was really tired so I feel like it was energy seeking behavior that I tend to fall into. At least it wasn't much, less than a half a teaspoon. I have to pay better attention and stay engaged in this process!
The scale is still unaware that I had a dreadful day on Sunday- whew!

My plan to get back on track is still working. The scale still hasn't noticed that I ran off the rails. It is clearly waiting until weigh-in day (Sunday). I have come to the conclusion that dieting is a lot like baby proofing the house. As soon as you think you are done, you need to something else.

Well, that'll teach me not to pay attention. Thought I had plenty of calories left so I ate a lot at dinner. I did have plenty of calories but not as many as I thought. My day is ending calorie neutral. Although according to the keto test strips, I still burned some fat today. The keto test strips have been my biggest reinforcement during this journey. With the exception of today, they are usually spot on with regards to where I think I am with my calorie count. It has been really encouraging since the scale is unreliable. Speaking of the scale, it still hasn't realized Sunday was awful. It may notice tomorrow. Being calorie neutral today is going to make it tough to pull out a 'win' for the overall week. I'll give it my best go though.

Stressful day at work, stressful day at home. Almost made it through the day but it caught up with me after all. ~SIGH~

Doing well today but unlikely to pull a 'win' for the week. The 'win' means keeping my weekly calorie total below a certain number. The scale is holding steady. I've seen folks saying they think their scale is broken because their weight is going up. I am the opposite, I'm thinking mine is broken because it is holding steady or even goes down on occassion.

So I am giving myself the 'win' for the week even though I am slightly over on calories (11/per day, 77 total for the week). I very carefully planned out the food for my day. Part of it was getting take out for my last meal of the day. The restaurant I selected was closed (although open at the same time last weekend). My back up plan restaurant was also closed. My third option ended up being slightly over in calories which is not too bad considering I didn't plan ahead of time for eating there.
I went ice skating today. I was really happy to go and have missed it these past few months. This is in addition to my three walks and going to the rec center.

Today was a huge first. It was a new low weight for me this morning. This is the first time a new low weight happened on weigh-in day! I was able to confirm a half pound loss and have updated my side bar accordingly.
I'll need to give more thought to what I am eating on Sundays. Lately, it has been a pattern for me to go over. Because, I am so insecure in my success, I am finding it hard to celebrate these wins. I feel like an adverse turn around is in my near future. In the meantime, I will continue plugging away.

Not on track today- trying to manage too much work stress. Got all my walks in even though it was below 20 degrees (F) today. I will work hard to get back on track to save the week.

Got to skate on my 'home' ice today for the first time in six months. They allow 15 spots and the time is during the lunch period. It is a different crowd. Before everything shut down, it was a handful of figure skaters. Today, I was the only one in figure skates. Most of the rest were hockey players. I will go again on Thursday. Still struggling with my food choices but I am on track today.

Was not able to successfully navigate around getting pizza for dinner and even had a large salad beforehand. Rats! On the ropes again for another week. I will have to be very careful the next few days to try to 'save' the week.
So I started this countdown in a bit of huff because I wasn't able to meet my calorie deficit goal. Clearly, I am still working on my journey. However, I want to pick a 'start' date. Of course the real start date is years ago when I became overweight in the first place. I was thinking of saying LOL- but it really isn't funny . I have been trying to lose the weight through the years but without any lasting success.
I am thinking of starting with the month I started taking supplements since that made all the difference for me. Alternatively, I may use the first month of my first string of losses. Once I decide, I tally up or maybe not. I'm not sure if I really want to know how long I have been at this.

Doing well today. Hoping I can stay on track for the rest of the evening. Didn't do well enough today to help 'save' the week though. I will have to take my lumps when they show up on the scale.
Prior to the pandemic, I was consistently doing intermittent fasting. As the pandemic drew on, I drifted away from IF. With going back to ice skating, I have a window to start up fasting again. So today, I got in a 17 hour fast. It seems like stomachs have muscle memory because before the pandemic, I would break my fast after ice skating. After ice skating on Tuesday, I got really hungry which reminded me of my previous IF schedule.

Ah, well, a lump showed up on the scale today. ~Sigh~ and tomorrow is the end of the month. I suppose another will show up then. I weigh ever day and usually write down the number. Sometimes I don't write it down. 25 of my recorded weights this month were below my starting weight for the month. Four of them tied my starting weight of the month and only one was higher.
Tomorrow will be interesting to see if I have blown the entire month. Such is the story of my weight loss journey. Doing okay most of the time but when I'm off the rails, it ruins any progress.
