Today's food ( I usually don't eat breakfast, i do a little bit of I.F.)

Lunch: AIP Zuppa Toscana (ingredients are sweet italian sausage, onion, celery, chicken bone broth, coconut milk, diced rutabaga, spinach, spices)

Dinner: Beef and avocado taco, side of peas and carrots

Snack for later: Paleo puffs, honeydew, possibly a cup of coffee before I hit the gym

I went to the gym last night and ran 1 mile, also did 3 sets each of curls, triceps, lat pulldowns, rows, bench press, etc etc arms and back

Weigh in: 178.4 lbs
Down: 1.0 lbs

I FINALLY made an appointment with the endocrinologist! But he is so sought-after, my appointment isn't until June 24
Thank you all for the help and empathy on my thyroid situation. AIP is really helping me. I still sleep way too long though. I never wake up feeling refreshed.
I persuaded my PCP to order a celiac panel on me. Awaiting results.

Zallie - I hope your knee feels better soon
Teri - Great job on the weight loss!!!
nancy - a glass of wine sounds heavenly right now!! I probably won't be able to drink it until my wedding though :/

Hi Everyone!

I had my Endo appointment today. My numbers are still in a normal range but they are at the upper range. I take a higher dose of Synthroid. There aren't many options to add in a smaller amount. The Dr. feels that if we change anything it might put me hyper. I agree with what she says since I have gone done this road before. I am feeling decent right now. I have another apt in July and we will re-evaluate then. Remember about me adding in the Citrucel and stool softener for the stomach pain? It has taken care of that problem but it has also helped with something else. My cholesterol has always been elevated but not to the point that the Dr. wanted to prescribe a statin. But the last time it went up again and I felt the Dr. would want to prescribe something this time. MY CHOLESTEROL IS IN A NORMAL RANGE! Yes, all Caps. I want the whole world to see and hear it. It has never been in a normal range. I was thrilled to see that. So, keep this in mind if you are having issues with elevated cholesterol.

Default Good morning

Diana, I am IMPRESSED by your cholesterol results! Way to go Very interesting.

Nancy

Teri, You have a Zoo at your house! Gotta love 'em!

Well, I didn't do well with making good dessert choices yesterday. I had about two and a half slices of pecan pie plus a brownie along with my regular food. Hence, my calorie intake was close to 2000!! Maybe more than that. Will I ever learn? Alas, it's a new day......

Today's goals: treadmill, situps & stretching, veggies, fiber, calcium, 1200 calories, 2 liters water.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

January 8

John 6:58
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Face it: Dieting wouldn't be so hard if food didn't taste so good! Like anything good, we want to get as much of it as we can. It's easy to place a high value on the food we eat. But, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. God has given us many freedoms, but one we should not abuse is the freedom to consume as much food as we want. No one can limit what we eat except ourselves. We need to realize that our daily bread supplies what we need, not what we want. Excessive eating is selfishness, and selfishness is sin. When we feel the urge to overeat, let us turn to God and nourish ourselves on the true bread that comes from Him - His Word.

Today's thought: God's bread of life is non-fattening!

Good morning all,
147.0 this morning
2 pounds over personal goal

Just caught up on the thread. I can’t believe how time slips away.

Diana I expected the beginning of the year would be busier. Maybe it will pick up. Congratulations on your normal cholesterol levels. That’s great.

Nancy congrats on the WI and subsequent drops. We have been limiting our eating out, too. We made pan seared scallops while camping. They were delicious. Love crab legs.

GrannyNancy you’re always providing great information. I’m going to start on the Brazil nut thing. We have some mixed nuts, so I will pick out the Brazil’s haha. I’m in the market for a new rain suit, too. I have the Frogg Toggs but the pants are huge and make all kinds of noise. A guy I met at a rainy music festival had an Under Armor rain suit he said worked really well. My husband has some Carhartt items he really likes. I think I will look into those as well.

Teri congrats on the loss. Your menagerie sounds fun.

Rachel, Zallie, Emily, Muse

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great day

Good morning to all the chickies!
WI bump up 163.2 so up .6, but I am ok with that it is not a 2.0 jump! I will be pushing lots of water today to counter act the microwave popcorn from last night
WO all cardio today with the elliptical since my right knee is still hurting across my knee cap. Have no idea how I hurt it but I will let it heal and not push. The elliptical is easy and gentle movement.
Lifestyle (not calling this a diet) yesterday was good, I did slurge by making homemade nacho's last night, so my 'fake' cheese, tortilla chips, turkey taco meat and some olives then dip in salsa. Not super exciting but satisfying

Rachel, my mouth was saying give me give me when I read about the pecan pie!
Haha Teri love the food descriptions
Emily I know what you mean about appointments with a specialist. I finally was able to make one with a rhumtologist for oh...April. The first time I tried it was 10 months later! I ended up canx that one (that is a long long boring story in itself)
Kelijpa I love scallops and don't know why I don't cook them more often? There is an asian market on my way home that has the most incredible seafood in tanks + fresh and frozen. They also have small bay scallops that are very sweet

ok back later for more got to work now

Personals:

Diana - awesome job on the cholesterol! Make sure you keep eating healthy fats to raise your HDL I hope you like avocados and nuts ! Also, it's so fun to see that you still do TurboFire! I still do it once in a while

Ciecie - Good luck with your kitchen! Are you organizing? I can't wait to do some spring cleaning, maybe on my next day off!

Teri - as far as sweets go, while I don't do Keto, sometimes keto dessert recipes are GREAT for reduced-calorie desserts! I made these pumpkin bars and they were AH-MAZING. My picky fiancé even loved them: https://trinakrug.com/keto-pumpkin-bars/

TODAY

Lunch: Leftover ground beef tacos, with carrots and peas... topped with nutritional yeast, in Siete grain-free taco shells, I also had a Strawberry-banana V8
Dinner: will be leftover AIP Zuppa Toscana
Snacks: I have a pomegranate and Cassava chips for snacking, a K-cup for coffee for before I go to the gym.

Weigh in: 178.6
Up 0.2 , but I am retaining water from weight lifting - I am sore. It feels good to be back at the gym finally after being so sick... I'm just trying not to push myself TOO hard.

Last night's workout:

Ran 1 mile in 13:45. I was down to 12:30 before I got really sick; my goal is a 12-minute mile.
Also did 3 sets each of:
20-second plank with Bosu stability ball
sit ups holding a 10 lb medicine ball
Hip-dips
Some leg exercises
