Default Do you get nervous when you are hungry?

Do you get nervous when you are hungry? Or on a diete? Or everyday?

My mother told me that I am the kind of person with whome you cant talk when I am on diet I am sure she said right

I also started to noticed that I become nervous when I am hungry. Than I dreink coffe, large one, and I dont whant coffe - I am hungry. When I am in pain - I eat.

I am mixed up with my feelings, are you ? Do you know when you are hungry, nervous, in paing, whant to drink or whatever? :-)

Getting to know exactly what your body is telling you (anxious, thirsty, hungry, tired, etc) is truly a difficult venture. For me, I have found that a regular yoga practice helps me differentiate those signals a little better. Everybody is different, but I don't believe a diet should interfere with your relations like that. Mine generally does not, unless I start to get obsessive or am not properly fueling myself. Are you eating ENOUGH when you're dieting? Are you getting all your nutrients? Staying hydrated? Getting adequate proteins? Managing your stress? (Even light exercise such as walking or an easier yoga video helps me with that!) Are you obsessing over your diet? If losing weight were easy, nobody would be overweight if they didn't want to be.

It may be helpful to keep a food journal that additionally tracks how you're feeling (mentally and physically) when you eat. Or track your cravings and how you feel about what you're craving. This way, you can track how your emotional responses and food responses are related and work to change that to a healthier relationship.

Lastly, when in doubt...drink a glass of water first. Hydration is most important.
