Just had my 4th visit with my bariatricician. I have been incredibly frustrated this month because it seems like the second I took my Nexplanon out, my weight loss has been incredibly slow. And I get that things slow down after the first few months, but at the same time I still have such a long way to go that, to me, it seems like I should still be loosing a little faster. I was kind of hoping that he would have something he could maybe adjust my diet, or tweak some other aspect of my plan to speed things up again.
But apparently I am still doing very well and shouldn't change anything. I was a little reluctant to agree with him, so he did a quick body composition test. He told me that at this point in the program the benchmark for fat loss (not total weight loss) was 4% and I had actually lost 10%, and that the 7 lbs (and once again, I get that that is a healthy amount it just seemed small to me because of how long I have to go- -this is the longest I've ever been successful with weight loss so I'm not used to it slowing down to 1-2 lbs per week!) I lost last month was probably pure fat, and that's really a pretty successful month.
So this month I am not going to step on the scale. I'm going to keep with the diet and exercise plan and consider a successful month where I stay on plan 90% of the time and respect my body enough to be proud of myself for the progress I am making.

That's the spirit, vKsLittleSparrow! At the end of the day, it's not the weight that matters. What matters is how we truly feel about ourselves. Cheers!
