Journal Exercises

  • Hi everyone! It's getting warmer, and I'm getting more ready to dedicate myself to consistent exercise and healthy eating habits! I'm in pretty good shape and have been for a while, and eat lots of healthy foods, but I have issues with eating too much and binge eating. I really want to work through that now rather than later.

    Journaling is always good to do (but not easy to keep up with). I'm going to try really hard to keep up with a journal for my body image, mental health, etc..

    So, I'm interested in hearing if you have exercises or activities you use your journals for!
    Here are some that I think are good:

    1. Writing a dialogue between you and your eating disorder, like a conversation. Always let your loving self have the last word (i.e. "I'm not hungry, I'm nourished, I don't need to eat just yet).

    2. Collaging- I print out some images that I can cut out (clothing, people, nature, gardening tools- things that are personally significant), and glue them into my journal to keep me busy through the cravings.

    What do you guys do? I can post more too if you want ideas!
