Introduce yourself or jump right in and tell us what you have been doing.

Here's to the start of a great month!
  • Here, here! I'm getting ready for a fresh start. I lost much less than I wanted in 2016, so lets hope 2017 will be THE year for all of us!
  • Hi all,

    Welcome back Diana.

Today has been the worst day I've had in a long time. Tomorrow is a new day and a new year and I plan to be back 100% OP tomorrow. Have a safe night everyone.
  • Ronja

GettingFit I am sorry for your bad day but I know you can do this! So do you! You did it before and you can do it again! Please don't let that bad day get you down! As you said girl, tomorrow is a new day!
Someone once here said to me, "practice makes perfect" how true! I can be so hard on myself! We keep going forward and here is to wishing us all a good day tomorrow! Let's just not give up and focus on our new day, we can do this!
  • Happy New Year Diana, Ronja, GettinFit and Weekend Boater!

Hoping we'll reach our target weight (or very close!!!) in 2017... and maintain it all the way to 2018 at least!!!!!!!!!
  • Good Morning, Everyone! Happy New Year!

Last night I added on: Tamilee Webb's full body stretch (standing)
    Nothing for this morning

First weigh in and no comparing to last month, just moving forward.

    Calories for yesterday: 2130 +
    Weigh In: 179.6

    Have a wonderful day!
  • Diana thank you so much for keeping this threads. It's a great source of support. I just hope I will be able to stick to my resolutions this time and welcome 2018 as a much smaller person!

GettinFit, sorry you had a bad day. As you say yourself, tommorow is a new start. It's hard to stick to your plan during holidays but I always say it's not what I eat during holidays that makes me fat - it's what I eat for the rest of the year!
  • Ronja Hi and welcome back! We have the exact same goals!
  • Quote: Today has been the worst day I've had in a long time. Tomorrow is a new day and a new year and I plan to be back 100% OP tomorrow. Have a safe night everyone.

Yes! But let's maintain for the rest of our lives! I don't want to have to go through all of that all over again.
  • Weekend Boater Have a great start to your day!
  • Hi!

So far so good for me in 2017! Goal for today is to make it to the gym
  • Happy New Year!
    Hello,

    Welcome Ronja!

Wkend Boater...am still thinking about your cake...if you lived next door, I'd say bring it over and I'd cut it up into small pieces and put it in the freezer and "save" it for you. But there are no guarantees that it would be there a month later...I used to buy frozen yogurt and if I wasn't absolutely gaga about the flavor, I'd ask a neighbor who had kids if they wanted it and they did (minus a serving). In my family, we all got pound boxes of Russell Stover. Mine is in the freezer, but my sib's is in her belly. It could easily be the reverse. Alas, I think we are cut from the same cloth. Am reading Geneen Roth...yeah...her book reads like "food porn"...very sensuous regarding taste....I'll have what she is having...Reminds me of ladies magazines that send you a double message with a new diet and a rich dessert advertised on the same cover.

    Nancy: still thinking about you.

    Weight is about the same.

    EXERCISE: 15 minutes of biking.
DIET: too many gummies, squares of chocolate, serving of Bailey's Irish Cream (yum), artichoke cheese dip on bread.
    OTHER: signed up for class.

    GOALS:
    EXERCISE: workout 5-6 days/wk.
DIET: use food mover. Record desserts.
    OTHER: get stuff done.
  • Good morning ladies and Happy New Year!

plenio thanks! Hoping it's a good year for all of us.

Diana Thank you! I hope you have a great start to your new day too! I am excited about our new month and yes "moving forward" as you said.

Teri Regarding if you were my neighbor and the cake, that would of been great! lol I was curious about that book your reading, thanks for sharing. So true about the magazines and double message, commercials are no better! I have not started my book yet but that is the plan for this cold month. It is a non fictional account of 2 men stranded out on the sea (438 days). Some years back, I had read everything in print on those sea survival stories..the will to live, etc. Now there are a bunch of new ones out. DH read it and said it's very good so I will start with that one. I see you signed up for a class, nice! Great job on keeping your weight steady during the holidays.

kim congrats on a good day and wishing you a good experience at the gym.

A big hi and Happy New Year to you all ladies, OMG I just heard something hitting my window and a big ruckus, a hawk swooped over and went after my birdies! We feed the birds year round. They all dispersed now and are in hiding.

My plan for today is to plan my meals the next few days as I typically do. I made a batch of h.b eggs this morning and I will need to shoot over to the market later or tomorrow to get more ingredients. I have to make the snack packs today! lunch will be 2 h.b eggs and not sure on dinner yet. I miss my cappucino's, may go into town to get out a bit and have a coffee later. Have a great day everyone

    Hi everyone, Happy New Year!!

Just a short post for today.

Yesterday - decided to go to MCDonald's for one last hurrah before the crunch come January. I guess it is my planned cheat meal, as they say. I'm going to try to implement that strategy in January in the hope that will keep me on plan and off the unplanned binging. Gotta try something new to make a change from the last several months. Needless to say, I went over my 1,200 calorie goal by a lot! Exercise - tried and did a little bit of Buns of Steel video. Suffice it to say, I have a long way to go considering I was taxed from the warm-up! I ended up doing a little bit of the regular work out, about 20 lunges, which was enough for me to start.

Plan for today - calories 1,145; carb 63; fat 45; protein 123; sodium 2,258; sugar 27. Exercise - none, rain again. Might try to do a little of the Abs of Steel video. Water - 100 oz.

Am feeling a little discouraged today, but still hopeful for 2017. My mom took my fasting blood sugar today and it was 101 - I think that is pre-diabetic range. I had blood work done in October, before my recent med change, and it was 88. This new med has weight gain and increased blood sugar as a side effect.

It sucks...I need to really watch my diet now. It is not just a vanity consideration, it is a health necessity. I really do not want to contract diabetis. The thing I need to remember is that I can only control what I can control. And, that is what goes in my mouth and the exercise I do, as well as med compliance despite the side effects.

There goes the Serenity Prayer again...God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'll do my January weigh- in, December and 2016 evaluation and January goals tomorrow. I'm going to ponder them today and will write some thoughts down in my new goals calendar that my sister gave me for Christmas. It is really cool and came with stickers and inspirational quotes and stuff.

Here's to a successful month and year ahead for all of us. greetings and support to everyone!
