Good morning all!

Got in my stretches and lunch packed.

Sundove I made schnitzel not sausage, I got the recipe from AllRecipes, it's yummy. I am totally addicted to legs up the wall, such a great stretch.

Diana it is archery deer season here, DH's dad came up yesterday, they're going out today. about hunters.

Flower I always feel like there's a battle between FitGirl and FatGirl, both want to be in control it never ends...:D it's just who I am.

Zoniegirl our weather is going the other way, getting cooler, it's in that sweet spot now for a few days, 70s, low humidity, not too old at night yet. It just gets dark earlier so that ends up impacting the outdoor activities.

Well, better get moving, hope everyone has a great day:sunny: :grouphug:

10/4 Weight - 141.4

Breakfast:
Coffee w/half and half
2 coddled eggs

Lunch:
1 cup broccoli
4 oz NY strip
Lemon ginger dressing

Laughing cow light wedge

2 Subway cookies

Monte - I'm impressed by your work. Your dad sounds a lot like my FIL - electrician, building his own house. He's in great shape still from all of the manual labor he does - I wish my job was more active.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Last night I added on: Tamilee Webb's Total Body Stretch (standing)

Weigh In: 171 (TTOM - whatever! I feel better from the previous 4 months of PMS so I guess that's all that matters. Gotta see the positive. ;))
Down: .8

Have a great day!

Sundove 10-04-2016 08:51 AM

Good Morning!
After my check in last night I noticed the WF chicken had a nutrition label. It said 1/4 of the chicken = 760 cals. Imagine my surprise when I read it, after enjoying almost half of the chicken! It was not a big chicken, and had nothing but seasoning added. I don't have a calorie limit really, just the no sugar or refined carbs rule. But.... Anyway, I am relieved to see a drop on the scale, -1.7. Hopefully it's a real number, not a vagary of the scale or hydration status.

kelijpa I agree about the legs up the wall being addicting--a good addiction! So far the other calf stretches I've tried don't feel as good a stretch.

Fat in Hong Kong You can do it!
Ramble alert! The mantra is a way to take a moment's pause so whatever your choice is, it's a choice rather than an impulse...at least I think so :D I went to nutritionist when I was post-diet bingeing. She cited research that the impulse brain reacts nanoseconds faster than the thinking brain. She told me if I can delay acting on the urge to eat for a brief moment, it's easier to make a real choice. I need to remember this too :D

Sundove - Ah, the pesky serving size. I get tripped up on that all the time if I'm not careful. Nice loss though! Nice job with the diet and exercise.

Diana - Functional fitness indeed! I didn't realize it until now, because my core is still sore, but my back isn't...and that is really a major milestone for me. Generally my back will start aching if I just watch someone else work, much less do it myself. :) I'm so glad you are enjoying your fellowship with the church ladies. It is fun to have friends! :)

nicoley - Sometimes I wish my job was more active too...until I spend two full days with real labor and then I'm glad I get to spend most of my working hours in a nice office with a/c. :) But lifting and eating more have had a huge impact on my energy levels, so I'm getting a lot more steps in...taking the long way round to the bathrooms, always using the far cafeteria, etc. It feels good to have energy again.

kelijpa - Keep up the good work. I'm cheering Fit Girl on! :cheer2:

Snaple - Weight fluctuations a perfectly normal, and much more likely then that you actually gained that much weight. 1lb is approximately 3500 calories...I'm fairly sure you didn't eat an extra 14,000 calories over night, did you? :)

Zoniegirl - I hope the melatonin helps out with your sleep issues. Sleep has such a major impact on how you feel the rest of the time, it is terrible when it gets messed up. Great job of adjusting your plan on the fly. I really do think there are days when our body needs that extra fuel. We just have to make sure we feed it something appropriate, and not ice cream! :)

Syckgirlsfv - I wonder if there was something in the air last night. Both my cats went positively wild for an hour or so last night. Not fighting like they do on occasion, but basically having massive zoomies. Dashing from room to room and up and down furniture...they nearly toppled the cat tree at one point. My poor dog got a little nervous and went and slept under the piano! I hope you have a great day off...we all need that recharge time. :)

Nichola - Banana bread. Manna from heaven. I should make some this weekend....:) Would you believe I'm still sore? I had no idea it was such a good core workout (or else I'm just a big wimp, which is a possibility). I need to put in a vegetable garden next year! :) Good job on getting rid of temptations through. I'm another who can't have chips in the house. Even the little individual bags won't stop the chip monster from breaking loose. :o

flower123 - I've never actually worked on a lamp before, to be honest I'm not really fond of lamps, I like my lights to be permanently attached. I've rewired a couple of ceiling fans before, and they are pretty easy, and a lamp should be simpler. Do you know what is wrong with them? I'm not the best troubleshooter in the world, though I did save a FB friend a service call on her fridge the other day. :D

Chunkahlunkah - Totally go for the chair makeover. You probably already know this, but in case you don't....spray the chair outside! You may think you have all the nearby areas covered with plastic or whatever, but spray paint goes a LONG way! Then you end up with a thin mist of whatever color ALL OVER THE PLACE! Don't ask me how I know this. :o My favorite thing I've "crafted" so far is my headboard. I took a 5 panel door and turned it into a headboard. Have you ever read the Epbot blog? Jen Yates, the lady who writes the blog, is the cleverest crafty person I've ever seen, and she posts tons of tutorials. www.epbot.com

Ate too much yesterday again. Only over by about 100 cals, but came up short on my protein goal. Made myself get on the scale this morning, still holding at 215.4, which makes me feel pretty good, seeing as I ate everything in my house over the weekend. :o Didn't lift yesterday, I'd like to say it is because I'm sore, but the truth of the matter is I just didn't want to. Not lifting today either because it is movie night with my friends, and I don't want to have to rush home from work, get my 2 hours workout in, and then come up with something to bring for the grill. Just too stressful. I'll plan for Wednesday, and I can't really put it off much longer than that, or I'll end up with DOMS.

So my new car was delivered yesterday. It is a beautiful gold 1998 Mercedes-Benz E320. Only 44K miles. I'm very pleased with it. Only a couple of issues with it so far, but that is to be expected when you buy a used car, especially if you don't check it out ahead of time (bought on Ebay). I'm changing out the battery after work, and then I've got to troubleshoot why the drivers power seat doesn't work. I've got my fingers crossed that it is a fuse, because that I know how to fix!

I was just thinking the other day that I wished there was a way I could put a time lock on my entire kitchen. :) It is embarrassing to me sometime just how programmed I am to look for food. Do you know the first thing I do when I walk in my dads house is open the fridge, and start rooting around for food? This is why I track my food before I eat it. Sometime just putting it into the program is enough time to stop me from eating it.

All of you know that I have food issues. I say this in general. There is always some type of issue for me. Sometimes it's intense sometimes not. But this is the reason why I eat the same thing every day. A lot of people would find it boring, but it really keeps me on track. Also, I can't have certain foods in the house, no option. If DH wants something that will cause me a problem, he needs to go out and get it and eat it wherever he is and not bring it home. Sometimes I will convince myself that stuff is toxic for me. This is helpful. I can see where going to another home would be a problem, especially if you can go into refrigerator, etc. What am I going to do if I ever figure out that I am lying to myself about these toxic foods? :lol3:

ETA: I apologize to subjecting all of you to my nonsense. I'm sure it has to be traumatic to some. :dizzy:

Congrats on the new car. Are you going to name it/her/him?
I know what you mean MonteCristo--I do the same thing at my Mom's! Yesterday I had a stressful task and after that a bunch of normal errands; none of them included grocery store because I was already well-stocked. Before i knew it,I was pulling into WF, heading straight for the comfort eating of that warm rotisserie chicken. :dizzy: Btw, I think their nutrition info is inaccurate :crossed:

Hi...new to the group, just checking in and saying hello!

Elaine

MonteCristo 10-04-2016 10:59 AM

:welcome: Elaine. Glad to have you here!

Syckgirlsfv 10-04-2016 12:13 PM

Diana! I adore your nonsense!!!! Humor is of major importance in my world ;) I need it, it makes everything better!

this morning I weighed in and TA-DA! 159.8! After the cheeseake! :dunno:

I forgot to mention to everyone that I bought some ground venison the other day...on a whim. I am not sure if it's better to cook in to a loaf or patties, or should I use it as a ground meat in a dish? Anybody have any ideas? I've never used it before :o

I slept in this morning, which always makes me happy :D 8:00. believe me, with the cats and DH, that's late!!!

Just enjoying my coffee this morning - with some pumpkin pie spice creamer. SO GOOD. I don't like my creamers too sweet, but this one is very good. Not too sugary. I only use creamer, and I don't ever add any other kinds of sweetener to it. International Delight, in my opinion, has the best flavors. I love this time of year because of the seasonal flavors, my favorites being salted caramel mocha and peppermint mocha. Do you all have a favorite creamer? I love me my coffee :coffee:

Everybody have a great day~ :D I am not sure of my menu yet but I do think we'll get out and do some type of outside exercise activity. Most likely ride our bikes...it's beautiful here. We have 80's and sunny all week and it's going up into the weekend :sunny: :beach:

MonteCristo 10-04-2016 12:15 PM

We always used ground venison as a ground beef substitute. It is too gamey in my opinion, so I prefer it is something strong, like chili.

10/4/16

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great day! :)

Because of my exhaustion yesterday after getting only 4 hours of sleep, I skipped my workout. Felt off all day. Not a great start to my new October goal of working out 4 days a week! But, the good news is I slept well last night. What a relief! Am planning to workout today.

I have my first political discussion meet up tonight, which should be very interesting given the current presidential election and vice-presidential debate tonight. I'm a political buff, so this is exciting stuff! Also, we are meeting for dinner. So, I hope there are some good choices there.

Yesterday's revision - no workout, calories 1,301, about 100 over, under on my protein, slightly higher on carbs.

Sundove - thanks for comments and support! Re: where I live, I'm in the middle of the state, still in the desert. We get about 6 months at 90 degrees or higher and 6 months of beautiful weather. The winters in the 70s always remind me of why I put up with the summers of 110 or more. Tucson is beautiful! So, is Northern Arizona. Most people can't believe we have forests and mountains in the same state as such harsh deserts. BTW, I got my username from the nickname that Californians call Arizonans who go to the beach during the summer to escape the heat...Zonies! Congrats on your loss!

Monte - congrats on finishing your project. Hope your abs are feeling better. Congrats on your new-to-you car...sounds wonderful!

Chunk - thanks for your comments and support! Great job resisting the pizza! Those spontaneous challenges are usually difficult for me.

Diana - thanks for your comments and support! Congregants on your loss! I'm sending prayers for everyone in the path of hurricane Matthew and hope it goes back to sea. So glad you are enjoying your ladies group! Your salad sounds delicious. Re: your comments, I'm not sure what you mean about using electronics at night. I think I do because I'm usually on my IPad or watching TV until I go to bed. Thanks for comments regarding Melatonin. Will try if I continue to have trouble.

Flower - glad to see you! I appreciate your participation in whatever form you choose.thanks for your comments and support! Hope you have a great visit with your cousin!

Hong Kong - thanks for your comments and support! Haven't tried the Melatonin yet. I have a doctor's appointment this month, so I will ask about the side effects and will let you know. Great job getting back on plan!

Syckgirls - enjoy your day off and bike ride!

Kelijpa - enjoy your nice weather!

Nicoley - good luck on SB!

Perunning - welcome! Hope you find lots of support here.

Greetings and support to everyone I missed! ;)

I'll post my calories for today later after I go out tonight.

Sending everyone lots of support and wishing you a great day!

Hi all
Not going to do personals now because I am on the iPad. It often is uncooperative when it comes to bold function

Gained a lb today. Not sure why. Perhaps those nectarines. Going to the opthomologist Retnea (sp) specialist today. New doctor. Hoping it all goes well. These apts. are always stressful. I might get frozen nectarines after the apt if I feel like driving to TJs with seriously blurry vision and eyes dialated. Could be worse. That's for sure.

More later if dialated eyes are willing. Sometimes they don't do fully okay with PC/tablet light until the next morning. Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday

snapple 10-04-2016 03:39 PM

Hi everyone :)

I had a really nice turkey sandwich so far today and 3 prunes.

Sammie was made of: whole wheat bread (I had open faced) turkey, lettuce, onions, some avocado, hummos, and mustard.

A cup of coffee with a bit of cream too.

Hi flower! I have retina appointments too :( I understand the stress. I have had them since I was pretty young, at an age where nobody really ever has to think of that sort of thing and it used to make me feel very, very sad and aged before my time. Sitting around the retina surgeon's is not something most 20 somethings hang out and discuss. I wish you well... and a quick recovery from that one of a kind eye dilation.

Monte
LOL wouldn't I just like to try and consume that much though!

Diana
I also agree, I am familiar with food issues as well, seated in anxiety and other things. I appreciate your sharing that. As for your salad that sounds wonderful. I would be in heaven at a gathering to see a healthy salad like that :)

Fat in HK
My bf brings home snacks and chips... and I keep banning them! LOL we gotta be on the same team!
