Definitely at a Plateau

I haven't lost (or gained) in over 2 months. I'm definitely at a Plateau :(

I am not doing anything differently than I had been, either. I have been under a lot of stress though.

Suggestions?

Try doing exercises that you've never done before or work out longer. Maybe change your foods. Your body probably just needs a shock. It's used to the same routine.

It's like someone that works at a hospital ER. When they first get the job they lose a ton of weight because they're always running around and on their feet. After a while the body gets used to it and they stop losing weight. They need even MORE exercise in order to shock the body.

Congratulations on the 92! And on not rolling upwards from the plateau (my usual trick).

Is there anything you can do about the stress? I've read frequently that the stress hormone cortisol can affect weight. Is there something you could do to reduce the stress or is it something you can't control?

Cortisol only affects weight if the person overeats. It's a misconception that cortisol alone can affect weight. What cortisol does is block insulin being produced, which makes cells crave sugar and glucose. If you start craving that, it's more likely that you'll overeat on stuff like bad carbs. But she said that she's been doing everything the same, so I doubt it's stress.

Unfortunately, nothing I can do. My mom has been very ill in the ICU for a month and is now being transferred to inpatient rehabilitation today. It's been a very tumultuous month, as I'm her only child and my parents have been divorced for years (so much of this has rested on me.) I'm trying to take care of myself the best I can, but TBH my stress reduction and self care (on that level specifically) routine, etc. have pretty much been halted :dizzy:
