Is Sugar Busters a ketogenic diet?

It seems like such a simple question. I have the book. Haven't finished it yet, but it's on Kindle so I searched for ketosis, keto, etc...nothing. I googled. I searched. I can't find anything trustworthy that indicates if Sugar Busters intends adherents to maintain ketosis, for a while or forever. That makes me think the answer must be No. However, I see lots of references to the "3 grams of sugar" (per serving) rule - for example, in the "Newbie Tips" page of the Sugar Busters website. As I understand it, 50ish grams or less per day will keep one in ketosis, so this 3 Gram Rule sounds a lot like ketosis.

What's the dealio?

I'm not sure what sugar busters is completely but I read the Newbie tips on the website, and I don't think it is a Ketosis based diet. It says to restrict sugar to 3g per serving, but it doesn't say how many servings of foods to eat besides 2-3 servings of starchy carbohydrates. (and I'm not sure if they are counting carbs as sugar as well, doesn't seem like it). Also, it allows for whole-grains and for whole servings of fruit and milks as long as the sugar is natural sugar, which can easily knock some people out of ketosis. So, the only thing it looks like it follows with Ketosis is to restrict sugar and somewhat restrict carbs, but it doesn't seem like it restricts enough to keep you in ketosis levels or at least not deep ketosis levels unless you forego the fruit and some of the grain servings. I think it promotes a regular lower carb, higher fat diet though.

It seems like one of the biggest differences just from a cursory reading of sugar busters is that they allow whole grains and beans (keto does not) and the ratios are different.

For a ketogenic diet it's typically 20P/5C/80F and sugar busters is closer to 30P/40C/30F
