I didn't do as well today as yesterday. In the afternoon I couldn't seem to get myself to stop snacking. One of my kid's friends left a bag of barbeque potato chips. Not that I'm crazy about them, but in my snacking mood, there they were and I ate a bunch of them. Also, I did not exercise yesterday or today. I'm going to make that a priority tomorrow.

B: whole wheat bagel w/butter, raspberries, coffee w/ half and half
L: leftover PLoco chicken and cole slaw
Snacks: Too many! gouda cheese and rosemary crackers, barbeque potato chips, chocolate chip granola bar from Trader Joes, and a banana
D: shredded chicken thighs cooked in chunk salsa, two very small flour tortillas, lots of lettuce and tiny tomatoes, one glass of red wine

Larry I love it! 12 oz Prime Rib!! whoa!!

kelijpa There is something soothing about mint tea. It is one of my favorite after dinner or afternoon treats. It is really satisfying combined with a square of dark chocolate.

Inkrid cobb salad and a rum and coke sounds delicious!

Nichols hope you feel better. :)

Sundove Getting stuck on the highway . . . so stressful . . . I'm glad you survived it and were taken care of.

ciecie loved following all your short posts about your day.

RetroRabbit Good luck with your end of school projects!

HOLA 3FC Folks!

GUESS WHAT?? My pants are longer … do you know why?? YUP! My thighs are thinner … :lol3:
It’s nice to see the change on the bod and not just the scale. :woohoo:

Okay, you folks were very kind in saying … do what makes me happy regarding posts… So – here ya go!

Michelle: Great move on the scale… but better realization that “eventually it HAS to show up on the scale.” As far as weighing in daily – I do… just for a little motivational pat on the back or kick in the pants. I know most plans say to NOT weigh in daily, but I tend to do that which I’m told not to do… REBEL! :) It sounds like you have the best of both worlds for the winter season … in the part of CA that you live. FUN!

Volatis: Horses … YES! And it seems your time is surrounded with horses. How awesome for you. I have an acquaintance that lives about an hour and a half from you. She use to ride and I think own horses. She recently moved back to England … her home country, from Minnesota. I think she’s getting settled back in quite well. // Great that you are seeing a slight change on the scale and it’s going the right way. And great job on the treadmill and bike!! I love beets also. However, one day I thought I was bleeding to death because of the “output.” Cracked myself up because it was only the beets… DUH!

ciecie: you are the Larry of exercise! He’s has 300+ days on plan and you seem to be in the run for most days doing exercise! If I had a ribbon – I’d give it to you :)

souvenirdarling: Thank you for teaching me how to spell “harrumph” … you made me smile! Thx

magistra17: oooo DARK CHOCOLATE … YUM! You said “I wish I could write personals the way you do.” Well… I’m retired and live alone, and many days I don’t have any specific timed planned events… so, I can read and write. I also make it easier by opening WORD and having it on the right of the screen and 3FC’s on the left… and type as I read. Today – I was up and out early, napped (involuntarily – just crashed in my chair), then out again tonight, watched the debate… and now, trying to get things read on 3FC’s. See you have a life, I don't --- (lol) … I do actually, it’s just less constricted. ENJOY! // Nice Picture! Oh girl, chips … yum, but :dust: to break that snacking mood. Be tough! Be strong! YOU CAN DO THIS!! :cheer3:

Larry: I think that is so awesome that the server gave you TLC. My eyes watered a little reading it. You are a special person and it is coming back to you. Seems you are our one man in this thread… maybe we should rename this thread to “Larry’s Chicks!”

Kelijpa: There’s supposed to be so much you can do with coconut oil. I even heard it’s to be a great deodorant and toothpaste. (Wow, that doesn’t make a very good visual.) Thanks re: the water. I have a check off for every 8 oz I drink… otherwise I wouldn’t remember that I didn’t drink – nor would I drink that much. I love peppermint tea. One of my most favs is TAZO – Refresh. It’s a little hard to find in the stores… The first time I drank it I went “ahhh … this is so so refreshing.” Only later did I learn the name was REFRESH! Here’s some :goodluck: for “getting exercise back as a regular habit.”

Inkrid: Well… when you are force fed Brownies, at church!! What can you say but … okay?? Thankfully there was only one, because one always leads to more for me! I am not sure if you want to expound … and it’s okay if you don’t, but what is a Child Facilitator? Thx

Nichol: I hope you find out what’s going on… how’s your protein intake? Not, that that would cause belly pain. I hope you feel better soon.

Sundove: I can “hear” your mom saying “turn that THING off!” it made me chuckle. Thanks for the encouragement; I am doing a little better on my veggies. Started to get trained in the brain for SB… I can’t wait. I’m craving cottage cheese and an apple… even over bread! “pantsometer” GOOD ONE! Ooooo … and (police) “GOOD LOOKING” … I thought for a moment we were going to be reading a Harlequin Romance… “then escorted me safely to … "(that’s when my mind wandered :) ). On a serious note, how scary! I am glad you weren’t hurt.

Angie: you said “but sometimes I’m just not hungry for that taste, you know?” YEAH! I do… and worse yet, I’m just not hungry, period. Your tom/cuke/on mixture sounds very delish… I’ve made something like that, but in place of the cuke – avocado. Yummy too! EXCELLENT -15.6! Disney huh? Well here’s some pre-trip :dust:.

ZCA72: I agree… protein fills me up too. I think it is interesting how we are all made differently … yet the same in so many aspects.

Hey RetroRabbit ... spring break --- Paint & write (and sleep too) … I admire creative people. I hope your two weeks will feel like a month.

See you all manana! Gail

:dust: for All!!

BelovedWarrior ~ A Child Facilitator is a functional word for Parent! :)
Nicolsfamily ~ I hope you're feeling better! :(
Diana ~Way to go on the half pound! :carrot:

I know something's working on some level because I woke up in the middle of the night ~ hungry!! Not counting calories, but I bet that's a sign of a deficit! ;)

For Breakky had Bacon and Coffee ~ ran out of Cream but put in Chocolate Almond Milk... hmmm, not bad!!

For Lunch am going to do errands with my DH after the PPT meeting at the school... if he takes us out as a default, I will order a Salad. If we get back home before Lunch will go to the Juice Bar downtown!

Snack will be a handful of Nuts.

Dinner will finally make that Shrimp with Honey! Got a Salad Bag with Kale and Beets! Last night the boys wanted Chinese. I had the Beef and Broccoli and General Tzo Chicken... with the Chocolate Almond Milk!!

ZCA72 03-04-2016 08:36 AM

changed stats...finally hit into the 170s! woof. getting there slowly but eating so well while doing it :)

HI everyone!

alot of work today. busy.
got cold again outside. but I can feel spring coming. can't wait to take my first good hike up in the mountains soon!

2 cajun pork chops
1 big old slab of prime rib steak with butter for dinner

One thing that is superior in helping me in eating near 0 carb---I never gain like I did on my old LC plan. Never gain back anything at all. I never have to deal with 'up 2'---WHY? or down 2 and yea, but UP 1 the next day. That crap is over. I don't mind kissing it goodbye one bit!! If I am up 1/2 lb it is sodium and I know it is gone the next day and never is a thought to me.

I am very thankful of the way my plan works for me.

EVERYONE HAVE A FAB FRIDAY!

BelovedWarrior 03-04-2016 08:50 AM

Hey all... Gonna go weigh in today. I haven't weighed at home yet, but my scale is pretty much right on... because I'm 1 pound more, with my clothes on at the clinic. Then I have to get a bunch of laundry done and things picked up around the house. I'm leaving town for a couple days the beginning of next week. I hope everyone has a terrific weekend! :carrot:

ZCA72 - OH! Those steaks on the grill (avatar) look so good, I can almost smell them. (I think I'm even drooling ;) ) YEAH!! for getting in the 170's. Keep kicking it...

Good Morning Diana - another success for you on the scale. YOU ROCK! Hey, did you ever get an answer about what ketosis is?

Inkrid - Oh... how funny (child facilitator) ... Keep up the hard work... with your plan.

Later chicks -- G

novangel 03-04-2016 09:20 AM

Just checking in real quick before work. I'm still weight training and starting to see less fluff. :D Yesterday I ran about a mile and a half before weights so I really got in a good session even though TOM just started. I left the gym with horrible cramps and I was like whoa..I over did it.

Tonight I'm taking a day off for TOM but Friday is usually my rest day anyway. My fatigue is over the top today from this stupid thing. I will make a pit stop at Starbucks for sure.

I hope today is a good money day, I could sure use it. There has to be light at the end of the tunnel any day now. :crossed: I have been very patient that's for sure..

Have a good one, all!

Nicholsfamily1987 03-04-2016 12:31 PM

Alrighty let’s do some personals!

12BHealthy: Welcome! 17 lbs in one month is very impressive! Low carb is very hard to maintain and the fact that you have been on it for a month is truly amazing. WTG and keep up the hard work.

Sundove: WTG fitting into more clothes. That is one of the best feelings when you are losing weight…is trying on smaller sizes! Your right about the grocery shopping in the evening..it is way too tempting!

Novangel: Even though you have probably answered this 100 times for me. How many weeks have you been doing the weight training? Last night I took your advice and did 10 minutes treadmill, weights, 10 minutes again treadmill, and weights again. In between reps I will do crunches to work on my ab area. Today marks a week since I’ve started I believe. I took a before shot of my arms and I probably should of my stomach..but it grossest me out.. lol I know it’s unrealistic to think I’ll see results in a month but I’m going to take pictures again March 26th! *Fingers crossed*
Beloved: Good luck at your weigh in today! My protein is awesome semi-low. Lower than all my other intakes lol. I don’t eat a lot of protein..even though I try too! Yay for your pants being longer and your thighs being smaller!

ZCA: WTG getting into the 170s. I sure do miss spring too! I’m glad your plan is working for you and I hope it continues!

Inkrid: Thank you! If I’m looking at your food right do you save your biggest meals for dinner? I try and do that sometimes it’s easier said than done..especially on the weekends! …which lately is when I mess up! We don’t have a juice bar in my city but I bet it’s awesome!

Magistra: Yum BBQ chips …definitely one of my favorites chips to snack on! Lol

Retrorabbit: I understand the stress with schoolwork! Good luck with your senior project and spring break is usually the time I catch up with homework..so I don’t really get one lol. But I hope you enjoy yours!
Hello all around!!

Weigh in: 133.0
Calories: 1200-1300 today
Exercise: Cardio Alone. Did weights yesterday and abs. I don’t know if I’m not going hard enough or what it is but my arms or my stomach are not in pain… ??

For those who asked my youngest had a first rough day of preschool. She was up and ready to go but once she got there she fell in the cafeteria and hit her head…as if she hasn’t had enough head injuries the past few days. But the nurse called me and said she was okay..then when she got home she had a bad case of the poos (I know TMI)…I don’t know if her nerves were getting the best of her or if the school food didn’t settle well or what. But Wednesday and Thursday went well so that’s good!

My calorie intake has been good all week (as you can tell with my weight) but the weekend is quickly approaching as I am becoming a basket of nerves especially with TOM almost here and me craving everything I really hope I can hold it together. Luckily I will be busy a majority of tomorrow so maybe that will cut out a few extra calories I usually eat during the weekend we will see! Hope everyone has a great Friday!

BelovedWarrior 03-04-2016 03:53 PM

:woohoo: :celebrate:
WI = 272.4 the least I’ve weighed in over a year!!
AND, by BMI dropped 3 points
and I’ve lost 10 pounds of F-A-T!
:cheer: :cheer3:

Novangel: less fluff (and stuff) … thumbs up! I look forward to getting mentally in the game to exercise. That’s never been my MO, but… then again, neither has cooking at home or eating veggies – so even us sexagenarians can make life changes :) I hope you have a very very restful Friday. Just like your avatar—kick your feet up and just “hang out!” Oh … and I hope you get showered with $$$ :D

Sundove: OH YEAH Baby! Cottage cheese and Apple dreams --- who’da ever guessed? Makes me literally lol! Not really a pleasure trip – a friend has an appointment with a DR in IL and she wants me to go with her for extra ears and eyes. HOWEVER, we are staying at a really cool hotel … and I have my own separate attached suite. Yowza … that will be suite (I mean sweet) … feeling goofy :dizzy: // I see you mentioned you are north of LA … I visited a friend in Santa Maria… Nice – next month is STRAWBERRY time!! // can you share crack slaw recipe? OKAY – later !

Well howdy there 12BHealthy2016 … AWESOME weight loss. :bravo: I hope you continue to hang out here. I read a bunch of other 3FC’s forums to keep my head in the game … but I mainly write here as these folks are very very inspirational. ENJOY your weekend!

Nichols: great NSV with one week of weight training. :cp: I like the idea of taking pics of arms before exercising… I hope to remember that – should I ever get to that point. I think you are beautiful in your avatar pic. Thanks for the good luck wishes … They helped! I could easily eat protein over veggies … any time, but I like crunch so I need veggies. Hope you have a great peaceful/restful weekend. // OH! I just read about your little one. Again, the head! Yikes! Poor baby. What’s her name, if you don’t mind? I’d like to keep her in my prayers :) // I didn’t read your last paragraph before writing peace & rest… but I just want to hope again that you have rest & peace especially since state you are becoming a basket of nerves.

Everyone else --- have a great-fantastic-terrific- and re-energizing weekend.

Snow tonight 59 degrees on Tuesday…WOO HOO!

my fitness goals have been attained for today. :D

novangel 03-04-2016 09:43 PM

BelovedWarrior: Never say never, exercise wasn't my MO either. I used to be a smoking, drinking, semi-overweight couch potato! Never in a million years did I think I would start exercising.. let alone 4 solid years of it. I just stood up one day and said "I'm done". It was kind of weird. I got it in my head that I was ready to start traveling and can't be overweight on the beach. Whatever works I guess. :) Work was good to me today! $$

Nichols: I started around Feb 15th and spend anywhere from 45-60 minutes 5 days a week. You mentioned you're not sore, how much are you lifting? General rule is you should be having a bit of a hard time making it to 10 reps. I do 60p on arms and 75p on legs. My thighs especially were very sore for about 3-4 days. I'm at the point that I need to increase on arms because 10 reps is getting easy. I'm definitely losing fluff! Weight resistance burns cals even hours after leaving the gym. ;) I will take updated photos on March 15th.

Less snacking for me today. BBQ chips are all gone. The kids finished them off. Whew! Still no exercise. I need to get a move on with that. Friday is my short work day. I finished around noon, but felt tired for the rest of the day. Maybe I just needed a recharge day and tomorrow I will be more motivated.

L: celery with Laura Scudders peanut butter, one TJ's granola bar, a few rosemary crackers
D: veggie pizza two slices
D: one square dark chocolate, mint tea

BelovedWarrior Sometimes in the evening I fall asleep in my chair too! For Christmas my daughter got me one of those memory foam travel pillows. I keep it next to my chair for those times when I'm too tired to move. It was my favorite gift this year. . . . Hey! Congrats on your loss!

Inkrid I love that middle of the night "hungry" feeling. That's when I know I'm losing. Such a good thing.

novangel love your story about exercise, so inspiring. Can't wait to see your updated pictures.

Sundove I grew up in N.CA, but I've lived in LA for most of my life. I am prone to sadness, so living where the sun shines most of the time is good for me. It helps. I love that the days are getting longer . . . ahh, spring/summer, my favorite seasons of the year. Can't wait.

Nichols Sorry to hear about your little one having a bad day. I hope things get better for her.
