I posted a few months back about 3FC setting up a Facebook group. I did look and it seems they had one that never really took off. If I set up a closed (or secret) Facebook group not affiliated with 3FC, just our own support group, would anyone be interested in joining?
I'll set it up if there's several people interested.
Very nice I'd like to see if a few more people are interested before making a page. I'll probably give this post like a week or so and then see if there's enough people.

I was going to make the group secret, meaning no one would know it exists unless they are on 3fc and see this thread. Also, our posts and comments won't come up on that stalker ticker that is on the side of facebook if you are on a computer. Personally, I'm very private about my weight loss attempts, but I'm wondering what is everyone else's preference? I'm pretty sure I'd have to friend everyone to add them, but I would defriend (nothing personal, I just keep my friend list very private) once you are added.
Also we need a name. It can't be affiliated with 3fc. Any ideas?
On the weigh down! I love it! I'm out, with the kids at my oldest son's karate class, but once I get home and the kids to bed I'll make it. I'll do it as a secret group, so no one has to worry about anything showing up on that side ticker. I think when a group is closed but not secret, your activity in the group still shows up on that little side ticker on Facebook. You know what I mean? It's not visible on the phone app but it is from a computer.
Edited for update: I checked and I can't start a facebook group without adding some of my friends, so I need to friend everyone first. I will defriend once we are in the group...So when you read this, PM me and either give me your name to search and I'll friend request you. I'm not going to put it on the public board here, and I wouldn't suggest anyone do that either!

K9owner, I didn't get what you meant to creat a separate page until I got you pm. I don't know why but I thought you meant a separate page for the group and I was thinking "of course I'll do that"...mommy brain lol...but I want to say that I'll be using my real account, which is kind of a big deal since I do value my anonymity on here. (I pm you this too). So I'm not going to add fake accounts. Sorry, not trying to be an a$$hole but I think it's important if people are going to be in a group and share weight loss struggles or whatnot either all are annonymous or all are not. People that aren't comfortable with sharing their real name won't join and I understand that completely. I will make the group secret. None of your other fb friends will have any idea it exists or that you are in it. Maybe some will disagree but I think when it comes to being in a group, that is important.

I think you have to either be a member for a certain amount of time or have a certain number of posts to pm...I'm not sure, you can ask a mod, but don't post any info to this thread. Its public. Just see what requirement is needed to pm...to be honest only one person has given me their info to join at this point. I'm not going to set up the group unless I have several people....I don't know like 5 maybe, but I'd rather a few more than that...I did this once in the past (not through 3fc) and a group with like 2 people isn't enough because once people lose interest it fails quickly. Went through so much trouble setting up, posting stuff, group pic etc and it ended up being a huge waste of my time. Lesson learned. Need more people so when a few stop posting (and some will) the group stays together.
