I don't have time to post much but I'm reading everyone's progress and I just wanted to reply quickly to Nicholsfamily. Two of my kids have very bad asthma (literally months of hospitalizations) so I have a bit of experience with breathing problems. Do you have forced hot air heat? If so, you may want to try turning the heat down as low as you can stand. It may do wonders for her breathing problems.

Also, if it is asthma just wanted to give you a note of hope. Once we got it under control both my asthmatics have been able to compete at very high levels in their sports of choice (Irish dance for my daughter and crew for my son). The meds today are excellent. Also, one other piece of advice - if your insurance allows you to go to specialists, take your daughter to a pulmonologist or even an allergist - anyone who can test her lung capacity. Neither of my asthmatics has even needed so much as an ER visit (let alone an extended hospital stay) since we've been going to our pulmonologist. It's been over a dozen years. My daughter is now 19 and my son is 17.

Good luck. I'll be back tomorrow or Monday.

Flower: I've been told about the mag citrate I'll give it a shot.

Nichols: It's a home remedy for general stomach upset or acid reflux. Takes about 10 minutes to kick in but works incredibly well. Only downside is my eyes were swollen this morning from the sodium but didn't care because I was no longer in pain.

CoolMom: It's not work stress this time, it's my ex. He's moving to Alabama and our son is entering the teen years. I'm not impressed.

I can't imagine going to the gym tonight I'm totally wiped out from being in pain for 2 days. I can't really eat so my energy is extremely low and I'm having allergies to top it off.

I'll get rest tonight and try for tomorrow. Have a good day, all.

Nicholsfamily Great mom to take DD to another doc. Usually these conditions are easily treated once properly diagnosed. If she has a bit of athsma, then you will figure out the treatment plan.

I already cheated. Maintenance is tricker than when I lost the hundred lbs. Although believe me, I am not complaining. I just know I am always a breath away from long term relapse

Seems like this would be high calorie. Not sure of the carbohydrate count because my I can't locate this food in the database of my tracking program.

Hi Everyone!

Today was not a good day. I always tell everyone else that tomorrow is a new day. So I will have to face that for myself. I really hate going out to the area where my Mom's house is. I grew up there and was treated pretty badly by the kids I went to school with. I knew last week I had to go out there and the anxiety has been brewing about it all. I am an adult and should be over it all. I don't even know if I should post my foods. It is all quite embarrassing. The bad thing is that I won't know if I am reacting to the lower dose of antihistamines. I could feel myself swelling up earlier today from the crap I ate. All of this frustrates me so because I was hoping to make some progress from my vacation/Christmas gain. I felt like at least some of the weight had to be water weight. I know I have had two TTOM's this month and a pretty bad angioedema reaction. That whole month has felt like a major flop. I'm still here and still trying so I need to keep my focus on that positive. So, picking myself up, dusting my butt off and moving forward from here.

Larry Yay for the new recipe. Well, I'm sure there are cans of possum in the pantry of some of my Mom's neighbors.

Flower Love the instant face lift. Yay for the trampoline and your day. Keep trying, you are getting there. I am right there with you about the long term relapse. I got back on track when we got back home but my mind has been reeling everyday. I think the stress from month end, year end, etc has compounded everything. I am going through the motions, but I feel that I am struggling mentally and literally just going through the motions.

Kelijpa Yay for the workout.

Sundove Great job on the whoosh!

CoolMom UGH! On the house. The house was old when we moved there 35-40 years ago. The house is 70+ years old, probably closer to 100. There hasn't been many upgrades and it needs a lot of work. Screening probably won't work well in this case because there is nothing in that area and no outsiders want to come in. I can easily rent the house, but I don't want to deal with the repairs, the complaining people, them not having money, etc. Also, I personally have issues with this house. Both of my parents died from the same cancer. For my Dad we thought the cancer was agent orange related. But my Mom died from the same thing. That cancer isn't on either side of the family. So I'm not sure about all of it but I don't like the house and want the house gone. When I was trying to clean out the house, everyone told me to call the kidney foundation to come out and get the stuff. They don't go out that far! Did I say UGH?

Daydreamer Good job on your day.

Treasa I hope your day was a good one.

Novangel I'm sorry about the extra stress. I hope you start feeling better quickly.

Ciecie You do a great job enjoying treats in moderation.

Waving Hi all around! Enjoy your evening!

Diana That's a lot of layers of stress, no wonder the calories are up. You've put a number on it and are moving on I second Coolmom's wishes that the house gets sold. And hoping the angio settles down asap. btw, Wonder if you ever heard of a writer Thich Nhat Hanh? He has a good book called Healing the Inner Child. He writes a lot about mindfulness.

I too ended up with too many calories today, going to the gym now to do some damage control. I stopped at the health food store's hot bar, like last week. Made good choices except a baguette, and then also ate my planned dinner. Calories about 2000. I felt hungry!

Good evening

W 209.4 (down 1 lb from yesterday)

I have some friends visiting on Friday night for dinner, and one of them has the following restrictions: no gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, almonds. I think I can make us some chicken and veggies. I want to serve a dessert, and have some experience with vegan baking, but I'm not sure how to handle the no gluten, soy or nuts part.

Diana I'm so so sorry about your trip to your mother's house and the very difficult month you've had. It sounds like the trip triggered some difficult emotions. Have you heard of the poem called "Guest House" by Rumi? I especially like the part "he may be clearing you out for a new delight." I hope this is just clearing the space for a better, healthier February ahead.

NicholsFamily I hope the appointment with the paediatrician goes well, and I hope your daughter gets the care she needs. It's so hard to see your children struggle! My son has medical issues, and it worries me constantly.

Novangel I hope you feel better soon! Take it easy while you're in pain.

Sundove Good job on the whoosh!

FlowervI'm sorry the cravings are still going strong. I've heard maintenance is so much harder. I hope things get easier for you.

Ciece M&M cookies sound yummy! enjoy!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

I bought the ingredients today and made my ZERO CARB MEATLOAF for dinner.

It turned out awesome. I used Hot and Spicy pork rinds for added zest.
I had to freeze the leftover right away to make sure that I did not over indulge.
I am very pleased and will make it again.

I ate lunch out. It was a 6 oz sirloin cooked rare with no sides at all making today a Zero Carb day. Been quite a streak of Zero Carb days now.

I ate a peice of lasagna for dinner and that was a HUGE mistake. I was in horrible pain again the past few hours even with 800mgs of Ibuprofen. Back to baking soda/water and now I have some relief..hopefully it's not only temporary but I have to try to go to sleep in case it comes back. Won't make that dumb mistake again, tomato sauce is very acidic. I was feeling better so I took a chance. Omg.

CoolMom, we have joint but I have physical custody. I will give the details about the move later but I think when a non-custodial parent leaves the state with no plans to come back it should null and void their parental rights. Just my 2 cents.

Ugh...I have to try to get some sleep. It's chicken soup and salines for at least a week. I can't go to the gym but this is guaranteed weight loss. :/

Hi all

From last to first, personals
Larry meatloaf sounds awesome. I can feel how much you enjoy cooking. For me it used to be therapy. Before the last diet started 7 years ago.

Upandaway congrats on that one lb! I might deal with the dessert food restrictions by dipping fruit in nut free chocolate. I used to do it all the time. Dried fruit, fresh strawberries. So easy. Otherwise plain fruit can always be nice. There are GF flours people buy. But why bother figuring it all out? Yes, in one way maintenance is harder. But on the other hand, I am so grateful to be here. Just always have that big fear of gaining again because of decades of yoyo weight.

Sundove, WTG on those 3 lbs lost !!!!!

That reminded me of monster spray. A spray bottle kept under beds for kids who are afraid of monsters. I am told it works very well for that purpose I love Thich Nhat Hanh. I actually went to 10 days retreat with his nuns, monks and him. It was sometime around 1998. Brilliant man. sorry you succumbed to the baguette. They can be such sly things, those baguettes I understand all too well those days when the cravings are high

Coolmom Sweet potato turkey chili sounds great. And very healthy. Sorry the scale is not being more cooperative. Thanks for asking about neck and shoulder. Yes they are doing much better. i sometimes hold my hands behind my back while on the It relieves the stress on the neck and shoulders

Diana
I am sorry that this has been such a challenging month. With the Angioedema and all. And then with your mom's house. The old social wounds etc have different levels, as far as I am concerned. We can think we have dealt with them. And then another level is there to face. I am sorry the house is so painful for you. But I can see why. Considering both your parents were living there when they passed. And your social experiences in the town with kids was not great. Mine wasn't either. I had horrifyingly low self esteem. I do hope the food tasted good. I know you will get back on track with the food. But do understand the frustration of it not being soon enough. ;hug:

Ciecie
your menu for the day sounds great

Nicholsfamily
I hope DD's apt with the doctor went well.

Novangel I am SO sorry to read that your ex is moving to Alabama. That's really rough I hope that somehow things can soon ease up for you. Sorry the pain is so bad right now. Have you every tried DGL and also L glutamine powder? My MD and naturopath both recommend L Glutamine for gut issues/acid. MD recommended DGL. Naturopath agreed. They might help. IDK. Sorry its so bad right now. Oh I just remembered when my gut gets like that I put water in a jar and add some ground slippery elm and/or ground marshmallow root (both medicinal herbs) . Let it absorb in the water and then drink it (Using hot water is not recommended for these plants). I have been suffering a lot with acid etc. So I am glad I just remembered. I am going to go make some right now. Whew, so glad I thought of it.

Treasa good to hear from you. Sorry two of your kids deal with Asthma. But so happy that its under control. WTG.

DayDreamer

Kelijpa sounds like you did great yesterday with the exercise and all. WTG. (fist bump)

Today was pretty much a disaster. I think this is how it may be until next Wednesday. The I will have to get serious
Coffee 60
Chicken sausage with salad 320
Apples 300
Peanutbutter cups 690. ( First I got paul newman's pb cups. Very unsatisfying. So then I went to Trader joe's and got their dark chocolate pb cups. I think while eating those I heard a celestial choir).
Chicken meatball soup 200
Frozen ice milk with chocolate sauce 130
Salad 100
Total for day 1800. Considering my age and level of inactivity that will result in a gain for sure.
Thanks Diana for mentioning the trampoline. I will go do that right now. Not sure I can do it for 20 minutes. But will do my level best.
Sad total for the day

I hope everyone has a good and calm Thursday ( unless you prefer excitment)
