Getting nowhere :(

Hi everyone,

So I've been dieting since January and managed to loose 3 stone so far, great stuff, however I am now stuck! No matter what I do, tried changing calorie intake, tried detox, different diets, I cannot seem to shift another single lb and I'm getting so disheartened I'm tempted to just eat a big fat cake and resign to the fact I will forever be fat :(. Anyone else been stuck in this miserable plateau and any tips on how I can get back to shiftING the lbs??
Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

I feel the same way. I have been dieting for 3 months, and I mean going strong. I gave up all whites no bread, no candy gave up all forms of sugar and for what.... I actually have only lost 5 lbs and now all I want to do is just eat what I want because its like what I am doing isn't working anyway, however let's not give up. Sometimes it takes a while for the body to get right and we have to change the workout routine. Don't give in or give up hope. Although it seems like it took us overnight its gonna take some time to get it off.

Maybe it is time to give your body a rest and deliberately maintain for a couple weeks. When your head and body are in the right place, start again. It's not worth giving up. You have made great progress! But sometimes we just need to give it a little extra time.

I'd suggest getting a calorie tracking app so you know exactly what you're taking in. As long as you use one (I like MyFitnessPal) and weigh everything, you'll probably see why you're maintaining.

Tracking your calories is a great idea, you may find you are taking in more than you think with little stuff that adds up. I know it is frustrating but maintaining and not regaining in itself is a huge accomplishment. I didn't see anything about exercise on your post, I agree that maybe mixing up your routine would break that plateau.

Thanks for your replies. I do use my fitness app for calorie counting, I should of mentioned I've maintained for the past month, I do yoga and power walking twice a week and a single mum to a toddler so I'm quite active. It's just so frustrating, I wanted another stone off by Christmas just so frustrating at the moment.

Are you weighing everything you eat on a digital scale?

How about exercise?? A lot of people forget to add or adjust this as their health improves. I find adding on even an extra 10 - 15mins on a walk can help.

I suggest weight training and calorie counting. Try different exercises and work different muscles in order to wake that body up!! ;)

I feel the same. How do you measure yourself? I know that scales aren't always accurate. My scales hasn't budged in over a month but my clothes feel looser.
