  • Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Check-In! Let's make it a great month!

I want to welcome everyone to the Daily Accountability Check-In. Our goal is to stay accountable and on track by posting our daily food and exercise choices. All food and exercise programs are welcome. Consistency is the key to reaching our weight loss goals.

Introduce yourself or jump right in and tell us what you have been doing.

Here's to the start of a great month!
  • hi everyone !!! Happy August. I can't believe the summer is passing so quickly. Living in Northern Vermont, warm weather seems fleeting. Thank you as always, Diana for keeping the Daily Accountability/Lifestyle Change garden tilled and cared for so well

Diana Seriously You are SO pretty ! Is that a more recent photo than the previous one? You looked good in that one also. But this one is even nicer. I can see your collar bones sticking out. wowie ! Looks like you are just the right weight. Thanks for the update in Ian. Glad things are okay with him. Re: the gallbladder, its an old issue. Arises every few years. Because I do not take the supplement I should take to keep it stable. This time it was a bit stronger. Oddly it doesn't usually effect me directly in the gallbladder. I feel it in sinuses. This time I felt it elsewhere as well. Odd how it works. I dont have gallstones though. So that's good.

Magistra, what lovely menus you always post. I am still in awe of your sewing skills. What a great thing to be able to do. Sewing machines and I do not seem to get along too well. Love the idea of making quilts. I remember shopping for fabric at Joanne fabric when I used to make christmas tree ornaments. Oh I used to find such amazing things there in the mid 1990s. It was a paradise Glad your mammogram was easy. Woohoo

Kelijpa, I think I should say congrats on not gaining this month. Honestly, that sometimes can be an accomplishment. If you did stop at the farm stand to get some peaches, I hope they were good. They really are not high in calories.

RetroRabbit, I hope you have a great time at the music festival. What kind of music is it? Well, you will not see this until you get back home. So I should ask what kind of music was it?

Berryblondeboys I hope you are doing well.

Syck, I do wish the drought will come to a gentle end soon. It has been too long for you all in CA etc.

Matisse, the description of where you are sounds lovely. The photo is very nice. Congratulations on your 2 lb loss !!

Coolmom, sending you some good energy to make it through the 3 day working weekend. What movie did/do you want to see?

Weight when I woke up was back down to where it was on Monday. That's great. Still have 3 more to lose. But I am glad it is back down.

Today I had 1,100 calories. A local supermarket chain is having a birthday sale. Pint of blueberries for a 99 cents. I bought a pint. I am sure they came with a side of chemicals that I do not want to know about. But I got them anyway. They were delicious even though mass commercially grown. I thought the gallbladder would resolve very quickly. I am feeling much better as long as I stay on the straight and narrow. I think deeper healing may be happening this time. Because for 1 1/2 weeks before the flair up I had begun doing work on the meridians Including the gallbladder meridian. I still am doing that work. So this may be a healing crisis sort of deal. idk.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Enjoying the first day of August !!!
  • I literally just posted in the other thread so I copied/pasted my post here!

Larry: Congrats on being down another 2 lbs!

MadeToThrive: You did great this month! Keep up he hard work! I am the exact same way you are! If I stop posting usually it means I'm messing up! 3FC keeps me on the straight and narrow!

CoolMom75: A massage sounds nice! What I'd give...that's probably gonna have to wait until my kids are grown because they keeps my pockets pretty empty these days! lol

MsTibbles: Yum BBQ chickens sound delicious! lol

flower123: As for back to school...I am pretty excited to see the kids go back to school. They stay extremely busy during the school year because homework and extracurricular activities...which in turn keeps me busy driving them to and from...which keeps me away from the refridgerator! lol. As for getting time to myself..I work 8 hours a day so I have plenty of time for myself.

magistra17: Good luck on the quilt getting done fast! Take a picture after you make it! I love homemade quilts!

    Diana: Beautiful picture!

Matisse: It doesn't take much for me to head for the basement and I would probably be in there if I seen storm clouds like that lol. It could rain and I'd be heading there lol!

TGIF! I am so happy to see Friday! The last two weeks have drug by..its usually because work is really slow the last 2 weeks of the month! I have been practically falling asleep at work! lol! The kids are out for the night and that means peace and quiet time for me... they have been energized and wired since I got home from work! Tomorrow we should be pretty busy..going to try and get some painting done in my bathroom and have a t-ball game and then Sunday we will get the lawn cut! Which means another fast weekend I'm sure. However, next week is full of back-to-school bashes and teacher-meeting fun!

Scale was about the same this morning...I only walked for about 20 minutes. I have been having some tightness on the right side of my chest and my upper arm for the past 3 days and I almost think it's because of the kickboxing that I have done for 3 days straight...maybe I punches the air to hard or something lol. It's driving me crazy though .. so no hard workouts until it gets better!

Well I'll talk to yall later! Everyone have a great night!
  • August starting weight 185. I hope to lose 6 pounds this month...we will see. I've been pretty stressed these last couple of weeks and surprised that I didn't have a gain. I didn't eat so well for the last two days, and kind of disappointed in myself. Tomorrow is a new day and going to start the month off right. But, It won't be easy. I started getting my classroom ready and we seem to have meetings almost everyday now. This is when I start to lose focus on my eating and exercise habits. Hopefully I can get into a good healthy routine.

Well, I look forward to watching and celebrating everyone's progress this month. I also like the new avatar that were recently posted. I think I'm going to do mine once my weight catches up to my avatar photo. (LOL) In that picture, I'm probably around 165-170ish.. So, once I lose another 15-20 pounds. I was also thinking today that I never did a proper "before" picture. I'm going to take one tomorrow, even though I've already lost 15lbs. It will be fun to compare the pictures when I've lost another 20 pounds are so.

It's midnight here now...need to try to get some sleep.
  • W: 186.6

B: scrambled eggs w/grated cheese, blueberries, tchai tea
L: salad w/ artichoke hearts, walnuts, dried cranberries, pecans, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and Marie's bluecheese dressing
    D: one slice pepperoni pizza
    D: one ice cream drumstick

E: 15 minutes stretches, abs, arms

I saw my doctor today and it went very well. My blood pressure was only up a little. My doctor was pretty happy with my weight loss and he cheered me on to do more. I had him check the edema in my ankles. It's not too bad in my right ankle, but my left ankle is annoying. Anyway he said that it's not coming from my hypertension, which is good because that means it's just a circulation problem. He told me not to sit in front of my computer too long and to wear a compression sock. That was good advice, but I am hopeful that my circulation problem will cease to exist if I continue to lose weight and exercise.

kelijpa You broke even for the month of July. That's better than ending with a gain! I'd say that is a success!

Diana Great picture! I am ready for August. I am actually quite excited about it.

RetroRabbit Good luck with your senior thesis! What are you painting?

    berryblondeboys Hi!

Syckgirl My doctor started prescribing a mammogram when I was in my 40's, but I ignored him until I was in my 50's. This was my second one. Unfortunately, there is a history of breast cancer in my family. I don't get a mammogram every year, more like every three years. I don't blame you for not wanting the radiation.

Matisse Beautiful photo of the St. Lawrence. That's a pretty neat location.

Coolmom Good luck with your work weekend!

Nicholsfamily I always used to love that time in the evening when the kids were asleep. I remember those days. Hope you all have fun meeting your teachers this week.

    minnie Hi!
  • Good Morning, Everyone!

Last night I added on: Energy Balancing Yoga from Quick Start Yoga for Weight Loss
This Morning: Oxycise Level 2 workout

    Calories for yesterday: 1410 +
    Weigh In: 171.6 (TTOM)
    Down: .4

I have done a bit of tweaking in my program. In fact, there have been several very small tweaks in a couple places. My weight seems to be reflecting these changes that I have made. The unknown is it one thing or all of them together? Dang science experiments! Also, is it these tweaks or the fact that I have been more consistent with my calories? Meaning, my higher calorie days are not as high or off the deep end as they used to be. Again, dang science experiments. Oh yea, now that I have mentioned this, it's all going to go out the window.

Flower Aw shucks! Thank you. The picture is from a few weeks back when DH's Aunt and Uncle were in town. When I originally got to my "goal" weight I would drop down into the 140's. That would mean me losing another 30 pounds. I have gone back to look at some of those pictures and I looked really thin. I recall the bones on my back, chest, hips protruding and it was not a good look on me. TMI: I covered up more w/DH because I didn't like looking like that. So, I think I could lose some more weight but not what I was before. My body has also changed some in recent years since I have weight trained more. For some reason, I am one of those people who can carry more weigh. Not sure what's up with that. I hope you are getting a full healing with your gallbladder. How are your energy levels with your thyroid now? I know that was causing problems a while back. I swear if it's not one thing, it's another.

Nicholsfamily Did I miss that you were doing kickboxing? I love it! Are you taking a class or a DVD? I have one particular program that I do and still get sore, after all of these years. It gets me all across my upper body. The good thing about kickboxing is that it is a full body workout.

Minnie Congrats on the 6 pounds! That's awesome! Good luck with not losing your focus with your program while the activities are picking up. You can do it.

    magistra
Good news from the Dr. I hope the edema issues get resolved. As you know, I have issues with edema. It's a huge pain for me.

Waving Hi all around! Have a great day!
  • Good Saturday morning everyone
I am posting using the iPad. So personals will come later in the day. I mainly wanted to semi vent about Bertha my digital scale. I moved it three inches. I noticed a 1.8 lb loss today. So I tried moving it back on the bathroom floor 3 inches to where it previously was. And now it's a gain of more than 2 lbs. It seems that Bertha has mood swings. So, I have no idea what I weigh, what I have lost or gained. Edited in: I just moved scale to downstairs bathroom. Now it says I gained 3.8 lbs ( from the reported 1.8 lb loss). Scale is only about 6 months old. Wish I knew which spot in my home reflects accurate weight. For now I think the best solution is to take a nap. Things are always better during a good nap

Hoping everyone is having a great Saturday. <3
  • Happy Saturday, all! Not much time to post since I'm heading out the door to work my second job for a few hours before I go to my daughter's house to watch the grands so she can go work her first job and then her second job. It will be a late night for both of us. I worked my full-time job yesterday and then immediately went onto the second and worked until 3:30 am. Got about 5 hours sleep and am going to head out again.

Diana - LOVE the new picture. You are such a wonderful person and your kind spirit is evident in your photo.

I'll try to catch up later if I get a chance. Have a great day everyone!!!

Started August at 217.0 . . . pretty excited about that number. Thanks for all the encouragement. Love this group!
  • Atkins Induction Day 102
Diana Great new picture. you look awesome.

flower123 Thanks for asking about my Wife. Other than life long persistent migraines she is doing well.

magistra17 My wife likes to quilt but those days are almost over due to arthritis in her hands.

kelijpa Finishing the month without a gain is a win.

    RetroRabbit Hi

Sorry about the temperamental scale. Maybe the floor is uneven in certain areas. I hope your day was a good one.

Kris Thank you. Good to see you back for a new month and congrats on the teens.

Larry Thank you. Keep up the great work!

MsTibbles Great job on your points.

I am changing my workout rotation for this month. I have been lifting heavy weight/low rep for a while now. This month I am doing a low weight/high rep rotation. I was completely drenched in sweat from my workout today. My heart rate was way up there the entire time. I don't like weights but I really liked the workouts I was doing recently. We'll see how well I adapt to the new workouts. I didn't have many workouts in the low weight/high rep category so I had to acquire some different workouts for this rotation. I haven't even done them yet, so I'm not sure what I will like. We'll see. Today's workout was very similar to Pump style workouts.

Waving Hi all around! Enjoy your evening!

Well, whatever you are doing - it's working!
  • Starting off the month at 150.2, almost 5 pounds heavier than last month.

    B egg on toast
    L egg on toast
D if I don't get some meals prepped it may be egg on toast again!

Diana, we did end up seeing Ant Man last night. It was good! Good luck with your workout plan.

    Flower, Bertha does sound fickle.

Magistra, that's good news from the doctors visit. Keep it up!

Minnie, good luck with your goals this month!
  • Hi All Happy Sunday !!

Nicholsfamily awesome that your kid's schedule keeps you away from the refrigerator. Yet another benefit to having kids <3

Minnie, congrats on the 15 lbs that you have lost already. I know it can be so hard to stay on track. And yet you somehow are doing it enough days to lose. So you ARE doing it. You mentioned that you are getting your classroom ready. You are a school teacher?

Magistra, sorry you are having the problem with edema in the ankles. I have read that flexing the ankle can help with that. Trampoline was the recommended way to do that. I have no clue if it helps. For me, not so sure it did. And as you know, compression socks are great for that. I do hope it resolves soon

Diana, I would not be at all surprised to know that you have a lot of muscle weight from all the exercise you do. I hear ya that you want to lose more. But you do look good even at this weight. Re the thyroid. its doing very well. A couple of weeks ago the dr cut back on the bio-identical thyroid pills. The thyroid THS came back a bit hypo. Great for weight loss. But... So she cut me back on that. T4 level ( cortiol) wa great because I use chinese herbs for it. How are you doing with Thyroid? On another subject, glad to hear your "science experiment" is working out Re: Bertha my scale ( named after my grandmother who hated my weight) yes, I am assuming floor is uneven. Perhaps a reflection of me on some days

Made To Thrive, you sound SO busy. I got exhausted reading your schedule Huge congratulations on the weight loss. 7 lbs. Yay. you rock

Larry. glad your wife is doing well Speaking of weight loss... 14 lbs in July? That is amazing. And in total you have lost more than 50. You are an inspiration.

MsTibbles Glad you had a good time at the BBQ. Sounds like even though you went over by a bit, it all worked out.

    Berryblondeboys

Coolmom I am wondering if part of the weight gain is muscle mass due to more biking. re: Bertha the scale, "fickle" is a very polite and kind way of stating it. I call her a PITS (Last word is scale)

Kelijpa, Novangel, Syckgirl Matisse and everyone else

Today I had a huge rebound. The gallbladder seemed somewhat stable. SO ... well... there was a lot of food eaten. There was a bag of turkey jerkey 240 calories. Pint of blueberries 165. Then a sample that was likely 70 calories. There was the locally made very fattening granola from the bulk dept. probably 3/4 cup of it. I would guess that's around 350 calories. non fat milk 60 cocoa.... my regular low fat Chicken and salads. Well the whole thing probably came to about 1730 calories. I tried to keep the fat to a low level. Except for the granola I was successful. I previously spent 6 days of fat free and oil free living. Today I fell hard. The good news is that I worked hard to keep myself from eating more than that. It took a lot of convincing to keep it down to a dull roar. Suffice to say I will not be communing with fickle Bertha tomorrow. Honestly, I need to find someone with whom I can exercise. Even if it is just the little personal trampoline. I really do need to start doing that. But trying to do it alone is a lost cause. I need the distraction of someone with whom I can talk while doing it. Plain and simple.

I hope everyone has an awesome Sunday. Having an easy time staying on track with the food.
