Weight Change around TOM

What are your typical weight changes around TOM?

It has been awhile since I have really tried losing weight, and I cannot really remember how it effected my weight. It seems that I gained for a couple days prior, and then had a drop after a couple of days.

I usually steadily gain for a few days around my TOM. I usually gain around 3 lbs, sometimes more or less. When I was a higher weight I would gain up to 5 lbs during my TOM. I also gain around ovulation, which I think is close right now. I usually gain a lb or two around ovulation and it goes away after a few days, same as my TOM. I wish we did not have all these fluctuations! But I'm learning to not focus on the scale as much, and that definitely helps!

TOM has never affected my weight, but I think I'm an anomaly. I've only noticeably retained water once in my life, after the birth of my second child.

I'm an everyday weigher so I can tell you that I tend to maintain a number for a few days straight before my TOM and then, when it hits, I have a big whoosh. It's really strange.

About two pounds here. The first two days, and then it's back off.

I drop quick weight during mine. And then don't lose anything the week after.

Mine depends, but usually I gain 3-6 lbs overall before the water drops off.

This last time, I gained about a pound a day for three days leading up to my TOM, then it stalled for a couple days, then it began coming off.

And I too can have a gain or a stall around ovulation, though that's less prominent and less frequent than around menstruation.

Thanks ladies! I feel a little better about the 3 lbs gain now. Hopefully I will see a loss in the next few days. I weigh in once a week usually but have been weighing in daily so that maybe I will kind of know what to expect next month.

Madison I weigh everyday and have pretty much for years, I have a calendar that sits on my dresser where I log in my weight, I usually compare week to week, like what I weighed on Tuesday this week to Tuesday last week, so I don't get crazy about it.

Anyway, what my long ramble was meant to say was I used to gain 2 pounds day one of TOM without fail, now it isn't that structured, but if you're weighing daily, if you keep track of That as well, I just put sp on the day it shows up, then you'll know what your particular pattern is.

Best of luck to you :sunny:
