Motivation Monday

What is your motivation today? What's your push to stay on track today?

Mountain Mamma 09-22-2014 01:14 PM

You're asking ME? Motivation is what I came here to find this morning! :)

WannaB2cute 09-22-2014 02:03 PM

Im feeling the same way... I try to reply to anyone who I think I can help but lately Im feeling like I need some help / a push but not feeling very supported.
Was hoping to see what's pushing everyone else and get encouraged.

Is this site slowing dieing or is it just my post :((

My 3yo daughter is laughing her buns off at your emoticon on the treadmill. lol

Just wanted to say you can do it!!!! I surf around here everyday after breakfast for my motivation. Today is weightllifting day for me.

If she thinks the emoticon is funny she should see me in real life.....

Come to think of it.... it's pretty accurate.

well for me, i started dieting in first place cause my mom's health isn't so good, we had to take her to ER 2 times in one week, all doctors have been telling her to go on a diet and stop eating anything that contains sugar... i did it for her i promised her to do that with her! eating healthy together :) i still want my mom to be part of my life, i want her to be healthy... i'm just so happy to look at her face every morning and feel relieved that's she's the one waking me up, she is still here :) we r both doing great now :D we lost some weight and feeling happy !

Monday Motivation hmmmmm..... I guess it is that Monday is a day of possibilities and re-starts. I take Sundays (and most Saturdays) off of a regular workout (weekends are not stop busy) so I'm always glad to get back to my routine on Monday.

Thanks for reminding us of what is important & what should be motivating us! Glad your mom is doing better!

It's one of my favorites, too. i'm glad I'm not the only way who finds some of the emoticons hilarious. But then, I'm not a 3 yr old . . . . Hmmmm

wannaB2cute: I have been noticing that things are slow here lately too. Hopefully they will pick up soon!

I am trying to find motivation to stay on plan this week. Here we go!!!

Streudel 09-22-2014 06:42 PM

My motivation is the same thing every day: To put one more day of following my plan under my belt, because every day that I succeed makes the next day easier.

I had the same mantra with quitting smoking. Just one more day. Tomorrow will be easier.

Every morning you have two choices - continue to sleep with your dreams on or wake up and chase your dreams!! - my new favorite quote

Palestrina 09-23-2014 07:43 AM

Motivation has nothing to do with it. We are all motivated. Why put so much pressure on Mondays? The just gives license to the weekends being benders. Every day has the opportunity to be a wonderful day in our lives. I don't need motivation on Monday, I am already committed to making everyday as joyful as possible. I don't need a recommittment ceremony every monday morning.

Amen, Wannabeskinny! And to add to that, I'd say that I don't like to use the word 'motivation' any more. It's a feelings-based word and as everyone knows, feelings are subjective. I wonder if that sets people up to fail...they stop feeling motivated, so they stop working on their weight loss. What changed for me was saying to myself, "No matter how I feel, no matter what the scale says, no matter how lousy my day was, I am committed to following my plan." By taking how I felt out of the equation and just following the plan I'd established, no matter what, I stopped falling off the wagon and developed a pattern of success. I still have slip-ups, but not nearly as many as when I let my wildly varying levels of motivation determine how well I was going to do that day with my plan! :D

It's Tuesday, but I'll play! We are going on vacation in 6 weeks. I'm 10 pounds heavier now than I was then. I don't want to look fatter in the pictures this year than I looked last year. Also, my pants don't fit. Actually, I don't have pants. The inseams have ripped in all of them. I will NOT buy a bigger size, so I'm living in yoga pants until I can squeeze back in to my original size.
