Back again :(

It would seem I've failed at the maintenance part.... My weight is up from 145 to 185 so here I am starting over. Wow, this really stinks :( (sigh) Ok, I'm going to try to stay positive and I'm going to try and get up for a run tomorrow but I'm feeling kind of down right now and I'm pretty upset with myself. Anyone feel like giving me a kind word of support?

Stop beating yourself up! What is done is done, and there is a fix. YOU can fix it. One day at a time, one meal at a time and one pound at a time. You did it before and you can do it agian!! God bless you with success!!

TamTam is right. Don't beat yourself up. Plus, you are not starting over completely. I see that you started out at 205. So, you are getting back on track before you put all of the weight you lost back on.

I am in a similar situation. I lost weight and put back 40 pounds on. I just posted in this thread about it:

At least you're back in the saddle, that's half the battle! Stick to it!

And Vermont! So nice to see an old friend! What's new with you?

Joe - I like your thread but since it's in the 100 club I don't feel I should post on it.

You are 20 pounds lighter than when you first started, which is great! I know it may feel bad, but many of us have lost and gained weight back, usually we've gained what we had lost and then some extra pounds. If you never give up, you can only be successful even if it takes you a long time and if you face some obstacles. It's great you're back and willing to work on your new lifestyle!

Aunty Jam 08-04-2014 07:40 PM

Thanks! :D

Oh you guys :( I'm so upset with myself again! I woke up at 5 to go for my run, didn't even get out of bed! Looked at the window and there wans't a lot of light, decided in my sleepy haze that it was to dark to run and went back to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of trying to run tonight... but it's 86° here today and that's quite warm :(

LaurieDawn 08-05-2014 06:15 PM

First, this is a lifelong struggle. Weight goes up and down. You are still succeeding. You are still maintaining a large loss. And your focus the first time stopped you from exceeding the 205 mark. That's so admirable.

My advice on the run tonight? Go. 86 may be too hot for a run, but it's not too hot for a walk. Short or long - get out and do something. And then celebrate it by telling yourself that you are the type of person who makes it work, and will make it work by running in the dark tomorrow morning.

LaurieDawn you rock! Such positivity! Just what I needed. I actually just got back from a walk with my dogs, even managed to convince the husband to join me. I thought of running tonight but my thunder thighs quaked with fear.... What if someone saw me???? This is the first time in a long time I have cared if someone saw me run. I'm just feeling self conscious today I guess.

I don't think that any of us from Regainers will hold it against you that you don't need to lose 100+ lbs. Catching yourself before putting it all back on is a huge accomplishment. And if you love to do something - running or otherwise - never let the fear of someone else's opinion keep you from doing what you love.

Aunty Jam 08-06-2014 01:36 PM

Aw thanks... I'm embarrased to say I didn't get up for my run this morning either :(

MsWildRose 08-06-2014 01:42 PM

I'm right there with ya! Took me all of 2012 to lose 20 lbs. Had a very rough year (jobwise) in 2013 and gained it all back.
Now 2014 is winding down and I am barely down 4 lbs.
I downloaded the couch to 5k app on my phone and preparing for a 5k in Sept. I am also tracking my food on the free Sp@rkpeople app.
Good luck to you. Together we can do this!!
