Ambushed! Pissed!! Help!!!
 

I dropped my kid off at a sporting event and was hanging out in a half familiar town, trying to get in touch with someone, and feeling out of sorts. The places I wanted to go to were closed, didn't exist anymore, etc., so I gave in and went to Starbucks.

I'm already now in not the best mood and am sitting trying to enjoy an iced tea lemonade. So this pretty young girl with a baby carriage comes in. She's talking to me like she's a new mom and we start hitting it off. She asks for my phone number and I thought I had a new mommy friend! I give it to her and she immediately launches on her new diet beach body company!!!

It turns out that she saw me, apparently fat, sad and lonely, used the baby (she is a nanny she finally confessed!!!) to try to snag me as a client by pretending to be a fellow mom!!

I was shocked, insulted, and used. I waved to strangers pretending I knew them and even pretended to pick up my phone and talked to my daughter to get her off my back.

Immediately I get four spammy text messages from diet beach body lady. I blocked the number.

I feel SOOOO put upon, targeted, and OK, I'm not thin anymore, but still!!!! :mad:

After I left (escaped), I thought of the baby and wanted to go back in time and call the family she was working for. That is just creepy.

Frig what the heck!?! What a brat, that's so insulting.

That is rude! If anyone ever did that to me I would not even try to be polite about getting away. Good for you for blocking the number!

It always amazes me that anyone thinks this is the way to build a clientele. I'm sorry you experienced that nasty stab in the back, but looking at it another way, you have your ducks in a row way better than that poor, sad excuse for a nanny. (((hug)))

Yeah, I was looking at everyone else in Starbucks and thinking, "Why me??" Maybe I seemed the least scary!

Whoa, she's a b****! Some people need to mind their own business. She can't be good at her job if she has to lie in order to get phone numbers and clients.

That is disgusting, awful, oh goodness I can't even think of the words....

I would probably be a bit more vindictive than you and post her phone number all over Facebook with the story for my friends to see, but I'm not sure what purpose that would serve aside from self-satisfaction.

I am so sorry what a horrible person she was. I can't even imagine what was going through her head.

Maybe she has a website or the company does and you can report it or give a negative review?

I would be so angry - sorry that happened. I actually had two guys who were chatting me up one day as I was leaving a store to get into my car. They talked to me for a while then handed me their weight loss cards. At least they didn't pretend to be anything they weren't!

Wrong, wrong, so wrong.... And yeah, now you are just going to want her as your coach since she is so trustworthy and all, right??!

I'm so sorry that happened. I don't know what I would have done, probably about the same, call someone or pretend I head elsewhere to be then block the number.

She is the same as a con artist. You are an open trusting individual and expect others to be the same as you. Maybe you should have texted her to Eff off before you blocked her.:lol:
