Last week was rough with solo parenting and then I got into a car accident when another driver fell asleep at the wheel. Guess who had several more high calorie days? We are a single car family so using a rental until we can find something. Stress!!!

I could see myself spiraling and I don't want to lose all my progress. So a low carb menu has been written up and groceries acquired.

Food today-

Egg, goat cheese and salmon on toast
Coffee with milk

Salad
Sprinkle of leftover ground beef
Cottage cheese

Cottage cheese loaf
Asparagus

Total cals 1262

Hey all. Yesterday we were at my son's orientation. He was at day 1 of freshmen orientation, we were at the parent one. I don't know what happened, but about midday I lost it. I grabbed some Oreos and an ices cream sandwich. Then when we got home, I scarfed anything I could find. I just needed junk. Total damage was about 3500 for yesterday, more than double what I usually eat.

I don't know if it's because we ate lunch at the cafeteria or not. I don't usually eqt a real lunch, but yesterday I did.... But it was a good lunch - green salad, chicken breast, sautéed cabbage and a bit of mashed potatoes. Maybe I was overly tired? I hadn't slept much the night before.... But not terribly little sleep. Or the huge amounts of driving there and back twice, so 3 plus hours (and driving wears me out).

Today is probably going to be harder as I loaded up on carbs yesterday - making me hungrier. I didn't weigh myself today, but I did tally all the food to be held accountable.

Something totally snapped and I can't quite figure it out!

I feel like a different person now that I've added 1 C blueberries to breakfast. I went a little nuts with eating last Thurs & Sat, so the scale is up. Overall I feel energetic, happy, and alert. Two night's of good sleep helped. The diet plan that got me down to goal is too restrictive for getting off the weight creep. Lesson learned! Today is long, long work day, also Election Day. Calories will be 1200 + whatever else so I don't go to bed hungry. Carbs up to 41 net.

I snapped on Sat. In the big picture, it won't matter, and the extra carbs might bump up your metabolism. The only risk is if you want to keep doing it (I did it Thurs AND Sat). For me, it helps to provide for a gentle landing: if you feel hungry from the carbs, feed yourself with a lot of protein for a day. I ate almost an entire roast chicken from Whole Foods after my carb fest. Then it was easy to get back on plan.

Snapping is pretty normal on restricted calories, from my experience. Also, is it possible that sending off your first child is a huge big deal? I would be a basket case, even though it's a happy proud thing to experience.

Up 0.6lbs to 169lbs. This is getting too close to 170 for my liking. I hope I lose tomorrow.

Hey, guys. Coolmom, that's so scary that you got in an accident! I hope you're okay.

I guess a few people fell off the wagon along with me! I started at a new job and kinda quit counting. I HAVE definitely been eating too much. I've been reasonable the past few days, but the weekend was pretty bad!

Checking in at 258.5 lbs today, down 2.5 lbs from yesterday, total 4.5lb since June 1st. Enjoying the big losses while they last.

Not much in the way of hunger today, oddly enough. Cleaned the bathroom after weeks and realized just how seriously out of shape I was. I was out of breath within 5 minutes.

Something interesting: my stomach used to be extremely firm and hard and I couldn't suck in anything and now it's... soft and squishy.

L: Greek yogurt w/ strawberries.
D: Small bag of Cheetos (from the Subway meal I had yesterday).

Not the healthiest choice, I know... but I was able to exercise restraint by not eating the Cheetos until tonight. Old me would have devoured the bag in less than 5 minutes, hungry or not. I'm savoring this while watching 'Game of Thrones'.

Hi Everyone!

LadyPetite Congrats on your weigh in's!

CoolMom Sorry to hear you had such a rough week. I hope this week is better and everything is OK from the car accident.

Berry Sometimes those things happen. I hope today was a better day for you. That amount of calories isn't even enough to gain real weight. I'm sure there is water weight, but that will resolve in a couple of days.

Mars
I hope today was a good one for you and you weren't too busy.

Syckgirlsfv Good luck with the presentation! :

Ian Did you try the warm water trick?

Laciemn Good luck with the new job.

Sonickel Congrats on feeling healthier and stronger. That's what it's all about!

Where is he going to college? Is it close enough for him to be home on weekends?

Laciemn, it's scary how quickly stress can send us into comfort eating again. A new job is HUGE! That's when I got to my heaviest and started back on plan two years ago.

Today has been good food-wise but poor sleep the last 4 nights is taking a toll on my sanity.

Menu today:

Leftover cottage cheese loaf
Mini coffee with milk
Chipotle taco
Shirataki with alfredo and broccoli (About to eat this so I'm not sure how good it will be but 1 serving is 150 cals. Ha! Umm yea, not gonna be enough).

Eta: shirataki noodles were rubbery but good. Two servings and added in some ground beef and it was quite satisfying.

Total cals 1082
