Happy

I haven't stuck to a weight loss program for this long since my twenties. I am excited. This time no ifs, ands, or buts I HAVE TO lose weight for my health. I will be 38 in July and I don't want to go into my forties being overweight. Diabetes runs in my family, I had GD during my second pregnancy. My aunt was just diagnosed with uterine cancer. :(Hopefully early stages and being overweight increases your risk for getting it. Also having back problems. So far I've lost 8 pounds in a few weeks just by not overeating and drinking more water or plain green tea. No juices, no soda. I still eat most of the same foods I ate before just in moderation. I also started hiking on a trail near my home. Eventually when I lose more weight I would like to start jogging and/or running. Right now I am too big and it will put a lot of pressure on my knees. I also have some kettlebells and will start using those more. I actually joined this website in 2008. I got pregnant with my son shortly after so I stopped and it has taken me 5 years to come back but I am here now and sticking to it this time. :carrot:

No problem! I was 281lbs at 5'8", aged 38. I, too, made a life changing decision then and now I am 165-ishlbs aged 39. Go for it!

Hi! I started my lose 40 by age 40 plan in 2012...as I didn't want to go I to my forties with health issues. It took me a little longer but I did it. Good luck :-)
