I'm 40 with three kids. While I've always carried extra weight in my midsection, I've noticed that after having kids it is just in my torso altogether: belly, armpits, boobs. Maybe it's all those years of breastfeeding...

Article in People Magazine
I just happened to come across this article today. 11 reasons why you can't lose the belly fat: http://greatideas.people.com/2014/04...-workout-diet/ Even though it is from People Magazine, it actually gives good information and suggestions. Most of the info has already been mentioned here.

Yes! I'm 46, but about 5-8 years ago, I noticed that when I gained weight, I started to gain more in my hips and arms---my least fat parts in the past (they're still not major fatty areas for me, but now they're definitely more prone to getting fat than they used to be).
I used to work with a woman who at the time was in her late 50's. One day she came in really disgruntled about her doctor. She had told him that even though she weighed the same as she had five years ago, she could no longer wear the same pants. He told her she must be mistaking her weight (i.e., forgotten how much she used to weigh) and that she had probably gained weight. She insisted to us, though, that she believed her body weight had shifted. So, yes, I do believe that it can and does happen---one of the many "joys" of aging. |
Hello! Have you tried - ********* amazing body renewal (just google it)? Ive heard some great things about it and my mothers co-worker got amazing weight loss with it.

Of course, my mother in law tells me this as I wear a G when I'm overweight and a F when I'm ideal weight. Like I want them to get bigger? |
Ugh I heard about the nose thing and I dread it since its always been biggish, and with a thinner face, looks bigger and now over time I'm gonna have a huge schnoz.
I just look at the women in my family, although none of them have gone through major weight loss. They've all had kids. They tend to get FUPA and that lower belly doesn't quite "snap" back even after 1 kid/at a young age. Other than that, looking at old pics, their body types have been about the same. I have 1 aunt, nearly 50, without kids, similar body type to the rest of the women in the family who has the same body type except without that lose lower belly, so overall, it seems like I could be about the same as I get older. No guarantees of course. |

Yikes i hope my nose doesn't grow although it looks bigger to me now that my face is thinner :P
Since losing 100 lbs a couple yrs ago (i'm 52) i DEFINITELY notice more in the midsection (however most of it is loose skin from weight loss) and i don't have a butt anymore whereas i had a "bubble" butt in my 20's :) Some of that could be muscle loss from years of inactivity. Everything else looks the same size (except i'm shocked at how losing 100 lbs sucked all the fat from my skull!). |
My mother is about 15 pounds more than her ideal weight. (i'm about 40)
and yet, because of age, her waist is much thicker than mine. She's always had great legs (let's just say mine aren't my best feature, particulalrly the thighs) but over time, the extra weight has just settled in the belly. |

My sister is built like our maternal grandmother - naturally slim and well proportioned. She is (at age 50) getting the same look our grandmother had as she aged - thicker torso, pot belly (I hate that term  ). I, however, am built like our paternal grandmother - broad shoulders, big boobs, no waist definition, narrow hips, with a tendency to gain weight easily. Her body shape didn't change at all with age, so I'm hoping I'll be the same. (I'm 44 right now and my weight distribution is exactly the same as always.) Sadly, neither of us got our mother's shape - the classic hourglass. She looked like a pin-up girl when she was young and thin! She's still an hourglass, just a...larger...hourglass. |
Yes, after two pregnancies, my weight settled in my boobs :( My stomach is definitely more loose, giggly and stretched out, but it is still relatively flat. I have also put some extra weight on my rear end lol
