  • dinner was so good I made turkey burger patties w/melted lite jarlsberg, toppings included chopped tomatoes, pickles, creamy horseradish sauce, and lite mayo for DH. With those we had tater tots! Tater tots make me happy and herbed peas.

I walked a mile around the grounds at work for a 68 calorie burn earlier, and did 5 sets of squats when I got home. Also had some pretzel chips w/jalapeno greek yogurt dip before dinner because I was STARVING when I got home!

I have wine. I know I was going to not have any, but DH got himself some last night and there is a glass left. Plus, I love my wine! *sigh*
  • Quote: I can eat, and have eaten, far too many cans of canned fish and very large salads (in excess of 2 lbs). There are two stages to a diet. First, picking the right foods. Secondly, not eating too many of them. Stage 2 is tough! But you can get pretty far on Stage 1 alone. I am now trying to master stage 2.

So, "binge" on and revisit at about 10lbs from goal.
That sounds about right. It is indeed hard!

My meals went almost as planned today. I found a swiss chard in the fridge when I was clearing out all the leftover veg for roasting so made farçou instead of the protein pancakes. They are basically a fried pancake with veg blended into it. With sour cream and salsa on top, yum!
  • that sounds good! how do you make them?
  • Quote: I can binge on anything. I can vividly remember hurling up salad because I ate so much of it. Not that the behavior is healthy either way, but I probably wouldn't have hit the weight I did if I'd stuck to overdoing it on salad!
Hahaha I can relate! I gained 80 pounds eating legumes, hummus, eggs, vegetables, and cheeses with a small amount of bread, rice, and pasta.
  • Hi Everyone!

This will be a quick one for me. Our friend Danny has been having a rough time. Today was a really bad day and his family has been struggling with him. DH has went over there every day and I have been over there ever other day. We got a call, asking if we could come over earlier since he was having such a bad day. DH seems to have a real calming effect on him. He seemed a lot better while we were there. today. If you would, please say a prayer for Danny's peace and comfort and strength for the family.

We ate really late tonight. Hoping that it won't cause too much of a gain tomorrow.

  • sorry about your friend Diana! I said a prayer for him and his family, that they will have peace and comfort in this terrible time, and that they can all find rest.
  • Hi everyone, just popping in to say Hi.
Went to the Dr Monday. BP and BS good as I expected but bad Cholesterol is high, increased even from when I was heavier. . Took the wind right out of my sails. The whole point is to avoid extra pills. Statins were suggested cause I'm already exercising and not eating blah blah blah. Whatever. Weight was good tho. Got some HRT too. I guess it really is the "change." No exercise today. Ate on Plan but felt numb about it.

Hang in there everyone, especially Diana.
  • Quote: that sounds good! how do you make them?
I use this recipe in my Vitamix. A food processor would probably work too.

Just a gentle pulse in the end so the chard doesn't lose all of its texture.
  • Diana, good thoughts for you, hubby and your friend. That is a terrible situation.
  • Good Morning, Everyone!

I accidentally overslept this morning. Then I had internet problems when I tried to get on here. I am going to make the most of my day!

I didn't add on any yoga last night.

I know the family will appreciate the thoughts and prayers for them.

  • Quote: Does anyone else share my ability to abuse healthy food?
I do! I'm an overeater, especially of healthy foods as if they've got some kind of green light on them. And while other people may not gain or may even lose on a "clean" diet eaten to satiety that hasn't been my experience. I gain because I overeat.

I have to be very careful and very vigilant. Sometimes (often!) that's a very hard thing to do and I go through periods where I'm unsuccessful reining that in.
  • Diana, I am very sorry about your friend!!
  • Diana,

I am praying for your friend Danny, for his family to find strength, patience, and resources in dealing with him, and for you and your DH as you support them through this difficult time.

  • Sorry to hear about your friend Diana.

I am up 0.2lbs today. It will be a tricky one today as I have a meeting at lunch. This means I cannot run before lunch and so will need to run after which means that instead of taking my lunch at 12 noon today, it will be 2.30pm at the earliest. I am going to be hungry and that scares me.

My plan is to have a protein shake to get me through. We'll see if it works out. Calories will be about 1600 today.

  • Down .1 today. I hope that's not indicative of the next week's progress. Between TOM and the fact that I ate a lot later than usual, I think I should be okay.

    Yesterday calories were 1016
Roll mops (herring with a pickle)
a smoked salmon and onion omelet
lots of broccoli with some dill mustard mixed in mayo for dip
a small slice of halibut cooked on my Himalayan plank (hello, sodium!)
