Wooooooooooooot! 170.8 this morning! I didn't do a double take because I was so happy with it I didn't want to check my weight again and find out it wasn't right. LOL.

I know, sometimes I cheat myself like that. :P

We'll see what the scale surprises me with tomorrow morning on my official weight in.

Olivia7906 06-02-2014 07:20 AM

173.75 lbs this morning :D Loving it!

jennybutler357 06-02-2014 11:58 AM

Great to see you here Paulitens! Looking good for today's weigh in!!

Well done Olivia!!

Good idea Cindy, strength training can stall you for a while but I think it's more than worth it in the end.

I was down 1.3 pounds today, so I am officially not plateauing anymore as that's three weeks in a row with a loss - wahoo!!

Paulitens 06-02-2014 12:27 PM

My official weight in this morning was 171.0. Only six ounces. :( But hey! As long as it's not going up or staying in the same place, I'm losing! ;)

forkeeps2013 06-03-2014 05:49 PM

Paulitens: You are almost there, way to go!

Olivia: Getting closer all the time, you'll be there before you know it!

Jenny: 1.3 is a great loss, keep it up (er, down!)!

This daily weighing is weird. I am logging my weight on a thread somewhere around here, but not updating my "official" weight on my ticker until my usual weigh-in day, Saturday. Yet today I am a full 3 pounds lighter than yesterday! I just don't get it. I am happy, because the scale said 167.8, but I can't understand the radical (to me) ups and downs from day to day. I am anxious to see what it says on Saturday.

Edited to add:

I found that other thread with the daily weigh-in, thought I'd start adding it in here. I noticed they do that in the "Getting out of the 160s" thread. (Yes, I peeked in that thread, just to see what it was like.... I can't wait!! lol)

Thanks ladies!

Wow, forkeeps2013!! What an awesome loss overnight!! I'd like to pull those kinds of numbers!! Congrats on the 160's!! :D

I was down 1 lb this morning to 172.75 lbs. Getting closer to the 160's. Looking forward to getting to my next mini-goal ;)

luckymommy 06-04-2014 09:05 AM

Hi Olivia! You're doing so well! Looks like I'm out of this thread....this morning I was at 169.4! I'm so excited! I just have to be patient because I'm already itching to see a 5 after that 1. ;) Best of luck to everyone!

forkeeps2013 06-04-2014 09:12 AM

Olivia: Wow, 1 pound is awesome!

luckymommy: Yay!!! I will see you in the next thread, as long as my "official" weigh-in day on Saturday is good.

GordonGirl16 06-04-2014 10:42 AM

Weighed in at 171.4 this morning! I'm getting close, and I can't wait to see the 160s, hopefully soon!

Paulitens 06-04-2014 11:49 AM

Hi, ladies! Y'all are showing some amazing progress! This morning I was 169.8. I went "yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss!!!" I was so happy!

:broc:

But I don't get my hopes up. I still have four more days till my official weight in. Apparently when I stop eating early in the evening my numbers are much better the next morning.

Paulitens 06-05-2014 08:48 AM

170.0 this morning (I was happy about the 169.8 but I knew it was just a sneak peak). It's still a great number--one lb lower than last Monday. If I weight this next Monday I'll be content. :)

jennybutler357 06-05-2014 09:37 AM

Well done Paulitens!! How is the little one? Any kicking or cravings?

forkeeps2013 06-05-2014 09:50 AM

Two more weigh-ins until the "official" one. And then (no offense) I will be out of this thread for good and on to the next one. :-)

forkeeps, yes! I can't wait to see you in the 160's group...same to everyone else here.

Paulitens 06-05-2014 08:56 PM

No kicks jennybuttler, I'm only on week 9. I don't usually have crazy cravings anyway other than carbs, which I'm managing by having a whole wheat pancake in the morning. :) I kind of really want a big charbroiled chicken sandwich from Carl's and a milkshake. Does that count as a craving? LOL.

Forkeeps -- it would be silly for anyone to take offense on you wanting to leave the group! We all want to leave the group! Hopefully next week for me. Gotta lose weight while I can. :)

Paulitens 06-06-2014 08:33 AM

Well, I was 171.2 this morning. I should pay a visit to the loo. If only I could! LOL

forkeeps2013 06-06-2014 09:06 AM

Paulitens: I knew nobody would be offended, it just sounded mean for me to say "Can't wait til I'm outta THIS thread!" But you're right, we ALL want out of this thread! And the next one, too! lol By the way, congrats on the new little one. I didn't have many cravings either; the first one, I craved chocolate milk and olives. The second one, I craved everything and gained 60 pounds.

Still hanging in there. Tomorrow's the big day and things are looking good. :-)

Skinnyminnie Wannabe 06-06-2014 01:02 PM

I belong here - it beats the 180s!

I bought a scale and checked this morning. I've been slacking on serious diet and exercise focus, but my appetite's been low, so I thought, let's see if I'm staying out of the 180s. The scale said 176.6 (don't you just love those tenths of a pound . . . there's a time and a place for accuracy if you're an air-traffic controller, I say). But hey. I'm glad. I had several "stuck points" on the journey upward which did reach 200 at one time. 173 was over a decade ago. So if I lose another 3 lbs. I'm there. The next one down was 165. The others I'll remember later. It's nice to think of them as plateaus or stepping stones on the downward direction!

And I am going to get more serious about it :exercise: :ebike: :swim: - if I can do okay when not really trying, a little trying should help. I do want to stay relaxed about it, though - I have this way of stressing over dieting that I think has actually been counterproductive in the past. Mellow, mellow, mellow, that's the way to go from here on out. Mellow as a state of mind. I can be active, but just be playful about it or make a game out of it. Keep that cortisol out of the picture and focus on the endorphins.

Paulitens 06-06-2014 01:34 PM

Oh, and by the way, this morning right before I woke up I dreamed that I weighted in and I was 156 and I was like "whaaaaaaaaaaaa!?" But it felt awesome. And I wondered what the heck I had done right that I had lost so much weight in one week. Needless to say, that made the 171.2 this morning a bit disappointing.

Forkeeps -- I was the other way around, for my first one I gained 80 lbs, kept 20 (I had a VERY bad case of water retention; I was very close to preeclampsia). With the second one I didn't have that many cravings and worked full time throughout the pregnancy (I'm a teacher), so I was very active and moving the whole time; I only gained 7 lbs or so. With this one... we don't know. Hopefully I'm in control of the situation.

Skinnyminnie -- you'll find that having a scale at home will be great, but it can also become an obsession. Keep your weight ins to 1 a week, and if you weight daily (which I do, just out of curiosity), don't let those numbers bug you because they'll be all over the place between weekly weight ins.

forkeeps2013 06-07-2014 09:01 AM

Skinnyminnie: I love your attitude! Yes, being relaxed helps a whole lot. It can be challenging, especially when the scale lets you know about that water you're holding on to, but just relax knowing you are heading in the right direction overall, despite the small ups and downs. It helps me to have a line graph that shows the overall big picture.

Paulitens: It's funny what our bodies do during pregnancy. It's good to listen to them though, they know best! I may be one of those rare people who loved pregnancy though. I had zero problems (except a little heartburn towards the end). And when it's all over, nothing is better than snuggling with a baby!

Well folks, I'M OUTTA HERE!!!

Well, I'm heading on over to the 160s thread. Hope to see you all there soon!!! :broc:

Olivia7906 06-08-2014 11:03 AM

Wow! Everyone is flying out of here! I'm going to be here all by myself lol. I weighed in today at 174.50 lbs which is 1.75 lbs up from my low early this week. Just gonna take a bit longer to get out of here but I WILL get out of here :D

GordonGirl16 06-08-2014 03:43 PM

Weighed in yesterday at 169.4! First time I've seen the 160s in months. But weighed in today at 172.4. Not sure why the gain...was OP yesterday and I don't think I had any more sodium or sugar than usual. Hopefully just water weight. Didn't get much sleep tonight and it's also very warm here, both of which could be making me retain a little water, so hopefully tomorrow it's be gone.

Paulitens 06-09-2014 08:56 AM

Forkeeps -- It's true. My first pregnancy wasn't the best (mostly because I didn't know better and gained a lot of weight, and with that I got all the other problems: water retention, acid reflux, insomnia, snoring, etc.) but my second was a total dream I didn't even want it to end! and this one looks like it's going in the same direction. :)

Novus
-- see you next week! (or maybe later, I still need to do a proper weight in).

Olivia -- I think I might be staying one more week. Yesterday I weighted in 169.8 again but this morning I weighted 170.4. I know it is because I had a midnight snack so I'm waiting to weight myself in a little later today again, and give my body a proper 8-hour fast. We'll see if the scale budges or if it decides I'll stick around on the 170s for one more week. :)

GordonGirl -- our weight fluctuates a lot from day to day. It would be so nice if it didn't, wouldn't it? :D

So the craziest thing happened to me -- last Thursday night I dreamed that I weighted myself in and I was 153, and then 160, and a series of other low and exciting numbers. That is EXACTLY what happened to me on Saturday! I hopped on the scale and it said 152. I was like "what the heck!? am I dreaming this?" so I turned on the light, and then it was 161, and a whole bunch of other low numbers. It was awesome to see those tiny little numbers (especially 152, since 154 is my main goal at this point; that was my pre-pregnancy weight with my first baby 8 years ago). My husband weighted himself and it was ok, then I weighted myself again and it was ok, yesterday was ok too and so was it today. I still think I need to change the batteries. But the whole dream thing was crazy; don't you all get crazy dreams when you're pregnant?

Paulitens 06-09-2014 10:31 AM

Ok, I waited to weight myself in (as I explained earlier, I had a midnight snack and I know that affected my weight this morning so I was going to wait a bit longer for an official weight in), and I was 169.6.

:broc:

I'll see you all in the 160s!

jennybutler357 06-09-2014 11:24 AM

Well done all of you leaving this thread!! Not that you'll probably read this as you're all too busy having fun in the 160s... :( - congrats to all of you!!

Don't worry Olivia, I'm still here and I think you'll be outta here before me - lost a measly 0.2 pounds this week...I really thought it would be more as I've been so OP all week and really working hard. Maybe I am building muscle though which is good for my fat levels. I've started a challenge on another forum to lose 12 pounds before Labor Day and then my goal will be 15 pounds left, which is incredible for me to think that after where I started!

Paulitens 06-09-2014 12:05 PM

Don't worry, Jenny... I always stick around a few days to say my good byes, and by the time I'm done saying my good byes you're all ready to move too. ;) We're all in this together no matter what our current weight is.

GordonGirl16 06-09-2014 03:59 PM

Back down to 169.4 today! If i stay in the 160s for a few more days I'll be leaving for that thread. Hopefully I'll be there by next week!

BettyBooty 06-16-2014 11:17 AM

Well, I'm back up to 176.6.

My husband had a complete nervous breakdown, tried to kill himself, and was in a mental health hospital for almost a week, and I ate terribly. I was trying to fill my fear and sadness up with food. I had to stay home from work to care for the kids, and aside form sleeping and eating, I don't think I did all that much.

The good news is that he is doing better and is home now, and he is on a major health kick. I did manage to run again on Saturday morning and took the dogs for a long walk on Sunday, and we have the weight bench all set up to use now, so hopefully it won't be too hard to get back on track.

BettyBooty 06-17-2014 08:12 AM

Back down to 174.2 today. Stuck to more fruit and veggies yesterday, and took the dogs out in the evening. New goal is to get back to 171 by the end of June.

jennybutler357 06-17-2014 11:31 AM

BettyBooty, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, I hope you have lots of good supportive friends and family around you, glad to hear everyone is doing better. I'm thinking of you.

I was going to complain about my pretty stressy end to the week with sick kiddies - it's NEVER just one of them but now it seems not so important. Everyone is doing great now but I definitely lost track of things like my exercise regime and eating healthy was as easy as I could do with salads and more salads. At least I had no time to think about treats so that helped! I was rewarded yesterday with a 1.2 loss! This is great for me to get off to a good start as the last challenge I did was a miserable failure due to some serious plateauing and only managing about 6lbs in 10 weeks.

Well done Paulitens!!

BettyBooty 06-18-2014 08:18 AM

Heck, complain about the stress and the kiddies, jennybutler, becuase not complaining (or at least, not discussing with me or others to vent and arrange breaks from the kids) is what largely drove my husband to do what he did. My FIL said he saw it coming, at least the breakdown but not the suicide attempt, and actually it is making us more conscious of how we treat each other and how we react to the kids and overall it will make us stronger and better parents. I see a silver lining, even if it was a horrible thing to experience. And, yes, we are in couples' therapy to help us get better together.

And it did make DH realize how important his health is. And my health, too. He is much more on board with getting in shape now, which is another good thing.

I walked about 3 miles in the 90+ degree heat yesterday but didn't run with the dogs because I simply HAD to go to Target with my 3 year old and spend an hour in the toy aisle. But my calories were only about 50 over my daily goal on MFP, so I am not regretting it one bit.

jennybutler357 06-25-2014 12:34 PM

This thread has gone a bit quiet! Has everyone gone down to the 160s?!

Well, I'm still ploughing away...down 1.8lbs this week, so now *only* 24lbs left to lose! I am also just 1lb away from having lost 90lbs in total - how did this HAPPEN?

Glad to hear you're getting through this tough time BettyBooty, and that's good you can see a silver lining, I hope everything works out for you guys, thinking of you both!

MayoLover 06-25-2014 02:44 PM

JennyB -- Oh YAY! I was looking for a 170s thread earlier in the day and was sad I was the only one in the 170s! Since we are close to the same weight (I'm 175.4 as of this morning) maybe we can hang here until we graduate around the same time to the 160s!

And almost 90 pounds lost, that's AWESOME! CONGRATS!

kidlets 06-25-2014 03:54 PM

Hi All! I was looking for a more active daily thread and found this one so I thought I'd jump in.

I've been having a problem staying OP for more than a day or two. I'm hoping I can get it together before it gets too far out of control.

Mayo 2 newbies! Yay!!

Jenny Wow! 90 lbs! You rock!!

Betty Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry. What a hectic and stressful week you had. I have a bit of experience in that recently but unfortunately we lost my dad 6 months ago. I'm such a fair weather excerciser so kudos for you for being out in that heat!!

summertime03 06-25-2014 09:04 PM

I would love to get out of the 170s! Currently 175. This is the lowest I have weighed in a long time...

MayoLover 06-26-2014 09:41 AM

Oh good, the gangs all here! :)

Today I am 174.8, but since I changed my mind about eating low-carb and am going to do more of a whole foods no junk kind of thing (not exactly like that, but aiming in that direction), I could shoot right back up on the scale tomorrow as I will hold more water again.

But whatever, this is only my 3rd day on plan, so I've got my whole life ahead of me to watch the scale.

Whoops. I just depressed myself. ;)

Kidlets - that's often my problem also, 3 days on then 6 days off, 2 days on then 1 day off, 4 days on then a whole year off. ;-) I really want to stick with it long-term now, so I'm trying to ease into all the changes so it isn't so shocking and jarring and won't feel so undoable!

Also, I'm sorry for your recent loss of your dad.

Summertime - I bet it feels great to be the lowest in a long time! GOOD FOR YOU!

jennybutler357 06-26-2014 10:13 AM

Hey everyone!! Great to see so many people here with me!! Yes, MayoLover let's stick together until we get to the 160s!! I'm not a fan of low carb, I will defend potatoes forever!! Hope your new plan works for you!!

Sorry to hear about your dad kidlets. What is your plan? I would say, if it's tough to stay on plan, then change the plan, that's what I've done anyways and it works for me.

Well done summertime - same here!!

MayoLover 06-26-2014 11:27 AM

Jenny: I do like potatoes -- of all kinds -- also, fortunately I don't overeat them. Unless, of course, they are cut into chips and deep fat fried... but that's a whole other issue. ;)
