Debating on Adding hCG to Ideal Protein Program

I have been a previous client of the IP program and have had success. With only 40 lbs left to loose I hate to admit it but I don't want to diet for another 5 months just to loose it.
Seeing and hearing the testimonies regard the Hcg diet; I've debated combining the two to see if it will improve my weekly weight loss. Why do I think it will work?

IP daily intake of calories average around 500 - 600 calories.
Hcg daily intake of calories is recommended 500 - 800 calories.

Both programs stress an eating pattern that focuses around the following:
*Liquid (Breakfast)
*Protein and Veggies (Lunch)
*Protein and Veggies (Dinner)

Granted the protein/veggie intake for Hcg is 3.5 oz while IPs is 8oz.

Both match protein sources of lean beef, fish, and chicken; IP focuses on Whey Protein Shakes for both Breakfast and Lunch.

Both programs recommend the following veggies:
Asparagus, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Celery, Chicory, Cucumbers, Onion (raw or green), RAdish, Spinach, Chard, and Zucchini. Green Lettuce is limited to 3.5 oz with Hcg while IPs intake is unlimited.

Fruit is restricted on IPs protocol until the 3rd Phase, while Hcg allows two portions per day at least 6 hrs apart from each other.

Both programs require adequate water intake. Recommended intake being half of your body weight in ounces of fluid.

Both diets allow "extras". IP encourages the use of Walden Farm products that are calorie free. Mrs. Dash products can also come calorie free in an effort to spice up protein meals like fish, beef, and chicken. Lemon and Stevia may be used as well.

Hcg does have "free foods" while IP does not.

Both programs have established a Reintroduction/Resetting and Stabilization/Maintenance phases.

Although the initial weight loss week for IP appears to be higher than Hcg. Both diets average a weekly weight loss of 5 lbs +/-.

IPs protocol is doctor diverted while the Hcg protocol may or may not have an overseer. The drops & injections have been associated with various side effects; while I have not found any reports of IPs products effecting anyone. IP also has gluten-free products, and weekly monitors blood pressure, body fat, and measures inches.

It would seem to me that following IP would be my best interest since I have succeeded with it 2x in the past; however, the length of time to obtain the weight loss can be burdensome; thus the debate of combining the programs.

IP encourages Multivitamin, Cal/Mag, Potassium, and Omega supplements.
Hcg encourages Multivitamin, Magnesium, b12, and Potassium supplements.

The more I research this combo I think I will purchase one bottle Hcg and try it for one month along with IP and document the results. I have tracked my weekly weight loss with IP the last two times so this would give me an advantage at identifying any progress.

Do you know anyone who has tried both or what are your thoughts regarding this?

I'm sorry, but we don't allow hcg diet discussions here so I have to close this thread. Please see the following thread for more information.

Thanks :)
