According to the chart I am a 12 for bust and a 6 for hips and waist.

I wear 4s across the board, and a few 2s.

I think your question has been answered about the chart, but I'll chime in anyway, I wear a large top and size 10 pants but my measurements do not match up with that chart.

Having worked in a sewing factory many moons ago I highly recommend trying on different sizes and even just a couple of items in the same size, all kinds of things can go wrong in the making of clothes!

That chart does to match up with my measurements/ size. I'm an XL (14/18 depending on brand). According to my measurements this chart has me larger than 3X. I wasn't even a 3X when I was 50 pounds heavier than I am now...

I found the chart about right. I wear a size 10, with pretty much those measurements. Fascinating, how we are all different.

Right now, I wear a size 4 in pants, small in tops, and a 2 in skirts.

I hadn't taken my measurements in over a year. Just took them and they match up almost exactly with that chart: 35-26-36.

That chart is based on an hourglass figure where the waist is 10 inches smaller than the hips and the bust is an inch or two smaller than the waist. Since I am a banana, I don't fit into any one size on that chart. My waist size, which is only 3 inches smaller than my hips and bust, puts me off the the chart, my bust size puts me into an 18 and my hip size puts me in a 20.

The reality is that I'm usually wearing size 1X or 18, even in pants. I do occasionally run into clothing that really is cut for an hourglass figure which basically means if they fit me in the waist, everything else is too big.
