Low energy --> have you had your thyroid tested? (Probably at some point, since you mentioned being treated for depression, but things maight have changed... although I hope not, for you.)

It's really, really hard to separate things to determine what gives more energy- for me, WITH the weight loss came eating better. And exercise. And more water, etc etc. It's all combined. I didn't JUST lose weight. I changed my eating 100%, and started moving. So I can't determine whether just losing weight gave me more energy.

But yes, I have more! I think it was a combo of all three.

As others have said, it's hard for me to isolate weight loss from the other variables that went along with it, like exercising and eating better.

However! I did once lose weight w/o changing my diet much or exercising. That was when I lived in a beach house during a winter. The place wasn't insulated correctly so was freezing. I dropped major pounds just from being cold all the time. I don't recommend this as a weight loss strategy btw but it sure was effective! Anyway, I do recall feeling more energetic from the weight loss alone.
