Ideas for rewards??

So I have read over and over again that it's a good idea to reward yourself for small accomplishments along the way, whether that be for sticking to your plan, reaching your workout goals, or 5 pound loss, etc. I want to do this, but I really can't think of a good reward. It can't be anything too spendy. I'm not into going out and getting my nails or hair done or anything like that at this point. So I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else done anything like that or have any ideas?

I like to get things like a bottle of nail polish (cheapies, $1-$4). A new pair of undies (singles, usually around $2.50 each, maybe up to $5 if they're fancy). A cute hair accessory (can get those at the dollar store). Clothes (thrift stores are super great for very cheap clothes, and you can find great stuff). Make up (again, I'm cheap in this department and opt for brands like ELF, so a buck for a new eye shadow or lip gloss).

All things to make myself feel (more) beautiful.

I add a bead or charm to a pandora-style bracelet for each set of ten pounds I lose. :) Each one was chosen with a special meaning, and many of them were only a dollar (although some were as much as $5). It's great motivation to want to earn the next piece and I can look it over any time I want and marvel over my progress:

I've recorded the details of my bracelet piece by piece in this thread if you're interested in checking it out. :)

If you don't want to spend money. The gift of time. A nice bubble bath. Create a small block of time to sip a cup of herbal tea in peace. If you have a significant other, take some time to give each other a nice massage. If you have one, spend a few minutes just hanging with your pet.

Volunteer. Go do or see something in your community that you've thought about but never done.

Down load some new songs for you ipod or mp3.

The possibilities are endless, you just need to figure out something that works for you.:D

I think I am going to be a little spendy. I really want to fix up my bedroom, so my first reward is new blinds. DH went to get them and found out that they are having a sale in a week or two, so my reward is on hold...so maybe that will be a 10lbs loss gift? LOL
I've also been thinking about sheets, pillows/cushions, paint. Stuff that I should be getting but I tend to put my wants last...

For less spendy rewards--I would love new journals & pens, books new or used, costume jewelry, funky flip-flops or new summer hat... :)

Great ideas! Mani-pedis are my rewards.

It just depends on what you like! I rewarded myself with new exercise classes, bellydance classes, tattoos, movement festivals, and new exercise dvds.

Thanks, everybody, for the ideas! I appreciate all your input. I still need to think on it some more. I’m sure I will figure something out. I’m just having an odd week and can’t seem to make up my mind about anything! :dizzy:

Elladorine, I love your charm bracelet and your Dory tracker. :)

I have an Origami Owl locket I got as a gift last Christmas. I decided for every 10lb loss, I'm going to add a charm to the locket. They're about $5 - cheaper sometimes on ebay.

I am a thrift store junkie, so I have been rewarding myself along the way with new-to-me clothes. It's so much fun to go in there and shop for sizes I never have shopped for before.

Elladorine, I was wondering about doing the charm bracelet thing and either having the bare bracelet and wearing it all the time so that it serves as a visual reminder of what I've accomplished OR keeping all the charms together so that when I meet my/a goal I then get a shiny new bauble to coo over. But I'm having troubles finding good places to buy a nice variety of beads. Where do you get yours? :)
