Renewed mine in October. I did not lie about my weight, but I was tired and harried and harassed, and the pic looks like a bad mug shot!

I may as well had the height chart and booking number sign in my hand it looks that bad!:?:

I had the pic taken at 250-260 lbs, but I had written down that I weighted 225. Hahaha, like I was fooling anyone.

I'm 182 lbs now :)

I had to renew mine this Jan, so the pic was taken at my highest weight (303), I remember thinking "Oh well, here's a before picture."

Even with my only being down 30 some pounds at this point, I can definitely see a difference between now and then. I'm glad it was taken when it was, though - it's been a good motivator.

You're not alone! My old one says 270 when I was really 300. I carry it around because I like to talk about diet/nutrition and since I moved here after I lost weight people don't believe I used to be obese.

I weighed 266 on the day my current driver's license was issued . . . but I told them I was 250. I can't tell you how excited I was on the day I realized that I was actually under what my license says!

I don't quite fully remember anymore, but it's possible I was actually honest about weighing 285 on my previous license, but at that point I was damned proud to have gone down from 360! :D

Mine expires in 2016. Right now I'm down to 213 and I definitely want to be at goal for a while by then. ;) And oh god, I can't wait to have another try with that photo! My previous license pics actually turned out nice, but the current one is probably the least flattering picture ever taken of me.

JohnP - Do you get people assuming that you are "naturally" skinny and making comments of the like?

Pretty much - when the topic comes up people are very surprised I used to be much heavier. Also, because I intermittent fast, when people see me eat I'm always eating big meals. It's natural that people think I have a fast metabolism even though when you look at the numbers for my height and activity level I'm burning somewhere between 300-400 calories less than calories calculators estimate.* I'm not complaining though I still maintain on somewhere around 2800 calories.

Heck, as long as I'm talking about myself here, allow me to ramble.:D I thought I was "naturally skinny" because I couldn't put on weight. I was trying to put on weight because in high school I I was 6'8 and 180 lbs! Hard to play power forward when a strong breeze can move you out of the key. When I got my first job after college my weight started going up. Turns out when you're playing basketball for 2-3 hours a day you're burning a lot of calories. Go figure. :D

*I base this fact on the three month period where I was wearing a gowear fit and religiously tracking every bite with a scale.

I was so happy to renew my dl this past summer, as the previous one was near my high weight and looked terrible. Not even just the fat, but the photo washed me out, my hair was flat from a hat, you name it.

The new one was MUCH more flattering and is less than ten pounds off my current weight - more accurate in all respects and not an embarrassment to me to present to people checking my ID.

emurph 04-08-2013 06:45 AM

Haha, my driver's license picture is from when I was 21 and I'm 32 now. I won't get another picture taken for several years.

My military ID, on the other hand, is awful. They always take the picture at a weird angle that makes my face look huge no matter how much I weigh.

betsy2013 04-08-2013 11:12 AM

I've got about 45 pounds to go to get down to what my DL says I weigh......and that was given when I was about 35 pounds heavier than I am now! Plus my hair color has changed. Plus I had eye surgery so no glasses. I figure they just ask so that the people who work at the DMV have some joy in their lives -- talk about thankless jobs! I have images of them on break discussing which person lied the most about their weight on their license that day.

Doomkitty 04-08-2013 11:41 AM

I don't like to look at my DL, it's kind of embarrassing... I know it shouldn't be but it kind of makes me panic. I can't believe I let myself get to that point and now I'm stuck with that stupid picture for like...one more year. -_-

zoesmom 04-08-2013 11:48 AM

Heh...mine was a falsified (and illegal I might add) weight. I was 290+ when the photo was taken, but I was so embarassed, I told them I was 272...like that is really that much better all things considered

I can now proudly proclaim I weigh less than my weight at that time...AND less than my license :D

I didn't report in on Friday or over the weekend because it was non-stop food. I walked at least 6000 steps Thur, Friday and Sunday, but only hit 4500 on Saturday (which I blame on wearing uncomfortable shoes so I could look cute). I've also been less than good about snacking, but it's a new week and a new chance. Today's goals:
6000 steps walked
No snacking between when I get home and dinner
Dinner is steak with mashed potatoes and peas, so only 1 cup of mashed potatoes
1 small dessert after dinner with no snacking on candy

My goal for tomorrow morning will be to not sneak any jelly beans before leaving the house.

Dichi 04-08-2013 03:24 PM

Pfft, in my license I look tanned and fit. I remember when I got it I was upset because I had a bit of a chin waddle...oh to only have a teeny wadle.
