Before starting my diet, only 2 weeks ago (lost 8 lbs, yay me!), I would get almost like hip cramps in my left hip every now and then. I'm talking speratic jolting pains that almost take me down. I figured it was weight related. Since I started my venture I have not had any until today. I'm talking worse then it has ever been. I was in the store and could barely stand. When I came home, the shooting pains were still there, even while sitting. At one point the pains were shooting down my leg.
Has anyone ever had this problem or know what it may be?
I would recommend you get a thorough checkup by a trusted doctor. I had the same thing a few years ago. Turned out I have degenerative arthritis in one hip; eventually will probably mean hip replacement. But I've lived with it now for several years, and the shots worked remarkably well for me. I've learned to manage it and to do exercises which do not harm it further (a LOT of swimming and water workout).
Hopefully yours is not a serious problem, but always good to make sure. I wish you the best.
I haven't personally but like Misti my mother had the same pains and was also told that she has arthritis in her hip. I would deffiantly suggest seeing a doctor.
I would definitely seek medical attention from your family physician. Good luck.
I will definitely seek medical attention but is it possible to have arthritis at 34 years old?
I took an advil, which subdued the pain. Now it seems just slightly sore. I did 30 min walking/jogging on a treadmill today, pushing through the arch pain in my foot and did some cycling. I wonder if that triggered it. I'm not sure how though, because before when I was getting the pains I did not exercise at all.
Well, like they say, "no pain, no gain".
