Default Feeling cold?

This is a bit weird but today I felt cold in places I do not normally feel cold, like my office and on the train. I used to think that I was just one of those people that ran a little hot. You know, the T-shirt in the winter kinda guy. But I am wondering whether my weight loss means that I have lost that extra layer.

Anyone else feel the cold more now they have lost weight?

Yes! I am pretty much always cold, whereas before I would be either OK or too warm.

The body takes some time to adjust to the removal of blubber! I've read that it can take one or two years to acclimatise properly, no idea if this is true but I hope it doesn't take that long.

Definitely, and I hear that a lot from people here as well. It can be a combination of things such as loss of fat and lower metabolism.

I can only hope it gets better once weight loss evens out as I'm just freezing all the time. I really only start to get warm around 80 degrees anymore.

Yes, I'm cold all the time when I'm in calorie deficit now. It's very normal. And given how much mass I've lost, a little wonky thermoregulation isn't something surprising to me

I find that I'm cold only when in a calorie deficit. When I eat at maintenance, I'm not cold. Is this common?

I've always been constantly cold, even before I started dieting. I swear I get even colder now though. My fingers are literally numb right now.

Calorie deficit = freezing for me. So cold I have to sleep with socks and a heating pad.

Yes, it's pretty normal. Initially when I lost almost 70 pounds, I was freezing!! And now that I'm eating at a calorie deficit again, I'm chronically cold. brrrrr

I used to be hotter than hot but now---- turn up the heat, get me extra blankets, put on a hood (even in the house), make me some tea!! And I still freeze!! I have even shivered so bad my teeth chatter!! And this is while my husband is wearing a t-shirt and looking to see how high I have the thermostat set as he is wiping sweat off (and he's thin!).

If you told me 8 months ago that I'd ever be this cold, I never would have believed you. Sweat and hotness were my personal trademarks, not anymore!!

I too am always cold. My hands and feet are like ice cubes, my bf is not impressed. Even at work, I have my heater on all day, and usually need to put on a sweater. Sometimes my fingers get to cold to type I am looking forward to summer and boy oh boy, I have had enough snow and -25 degree weather!!!

MEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!

I grew up in Northern CA, so I am used to cold, usually prefer it. Living in GA has been ****, literally...ALWAYS burning up. Even in the winter. But at the same time, I look forward to the 20-30 degree days. Heck, last winter I went to MI to visit my MIL and I wa walking around outside in a thin long sleeve in -11 degree weather and thinking the weather felt JUST right.

Not. This. Year.

Yesterday, it was 56. Normally I would be panting. Nope. I was freezing my butt off and ended up turning the heat on (something we usually live without in the winter here in GA, as my hubby is also from a cold climate.) I ended up burning everyone out and I was STILL shivering. A 30 minute hot shower and a cup of hot tea later and I FINALLY managed to get from freezing to barely cold.

I guess, worst case scenario, maybe I can enjoy some sun this year without dying of heat exhast!
