A NSV weekend
 

Such a fabulous weekend I've had!

Last night I went out to dinner with friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. In the past, this would have been a situation where I ate an entire day's calories (or more) at one sitting. Instead I went online earlier in the day to check out the restaurant's website and planned a healthy meal, so when I got to the restaurant I didn't even have to look at the menu to place my order. And when my small healthy dinner arrived, I didn't feel deprived or angry when I compared it to my friends' heaping plates full of yumminess. I also found that I was able to enjoy my friends' company instead of obsessing about when the waitress was going to bring food or daydreaming about the dessert menu.

Plus my friends' made several comments about my appearance, not just the weight loss but that I had actually put forth an effort to look nice. (One of them actually said that it was nice that I no longer looked like a homeless bag lady. :lol:)

Also, on Friday night at work, I was totally annoyed the whole shift by my too big pants that kept sliiiiiding down my hips. I really was worried that at some point I wasn't going to catch them in time and they'd continue to slide down to my ankles! :o A few weeks ago I'd tried on a pair of pants in the next size down and they were just too snug to be comfortable. Well, I tried them on again today to find out if I could wear them for work....and I could! Hello size 14s! :D

After work (while I was still wearing those size 14s) I ran into a friend that I haven't seen since New Years, and he noticed and commented on my weight loss immediately.

With all that triumph in just two days, I'm ready to kick some serious a** this week! I will defeat The Fat! :cb:

Heck yeah! I love those moments where some of hard work starts reaping a reward.

We spend days dreaming about 'goal' and the magic that will take place then, but honestly every forward step is to be celebrated.

How long did I mentally dread getting ready for work b/c I knew my work pants were snug? Now, they aren't tight, even on my 'fat' days. It's such a fun milestone!

I'm glad you had a good weekend and didn't waste time bemoaning missing one little treat or approaching it with a negative mentality.

In a way, that's the biggest NSV to me!
