Helppp all I want

is a cheeseburger. I don't think I've ever had a craving this intense before....
Mcdonalds please shut all your doors to me. I'm on a diet.

fast food is hard.
Maybe have something healthy now and some water so that maybe it'll go away? Stay strong! You know you will need to do this to get what you want in the long run

Do something to take your mind off of it. Drink a cup of water, have a coffee, go for a walk, read some news, call a friend, eat a piece of fruit, do 50 sit-ups..
There are many options. Just acknowledge the craving and then make your choice and stick to it. We all have cravings and I know it's hard but if you get through this one the next one may be a little easier.
Be strong! :)

Desert Dweller 12-12-2012 12:22 AM

Also, remind yourself that there is almost no nutritional value in a cheeseburger. It's just processed junk that we are better off eating only very occasionally.
Perhaps set yourself a treat day for in a weeks or a months time and have one then. That way you can choose when you have it rAther than giving in to cravings.

Ugh! This happened to me several weeks ago too. I ate a huge Greek salad (clearly not what I really wanted). It kept me chewing and filled me up. After that I drank some tea. By the time I was done with all of that, the craving was gone. Good luck!

dstalksalot 12-12-2012 12:58 AM

I get cravings for burgers too. When that happens I go to Carols Jr. and order a western bacon cheese burger with a turkey patty, protein style with no bun or bacon. I get the western taste and a big hit of protien for under 500 cals. Does it for me every time.

Arctic Mama 12-12-2012 01:20 AM

I confess, one of the reasons I adore my plan is that a lettuce wrapped bacon cheeseburger is not only on plan, but a nutritious and satisfying main course. Homemade is better tasting in most cases, anyway. Low fat calorie counting was so much less satisfying and more cravings inducing for me, it may be for you as well.

BrittanyRinkin 12-12-2012 01:46 AM

Hey! One thing that I remember is that anything I eat in private will show in public. It's not worth it.

sontaikle 12-12-2012 05:59 AM

Sometimes it's best to feed a craving so you don't go nuts. You can either get the cheeseburger, or make your own. Making your own is usually 1000x better!

Try to lose the "I'm on a diet" mentality. You can have a cheeseburger and still lose weight and all that. Just don't have it all the time :)

Marniadec 12-12-2012 08:21 AM

Ι agree with sontaikle. If it's such a huge craving, it's better to give in. I don't know what's in cheeseburgers in the US, but in Greece they only have 425 calories. You can definitely eat one and stay within your calories. It's not something I would do every day, but I'd much rather eat something bad when I really crave it, rather than end up having a full binge later.

A McDonald's kid's cheeseburger only has 300 calories. Sometimes when I'm craving, I go get a kid's meal :)

bargoo 12-12-2012 08:50 AM

Order the cheeseburger and skip the bun, saves calories.

JossFit 12-12-2012 09:19 AM

Agree with all of these options! Can you make one at home for yourself thats got delicious, flavorful healthy ingredients? There is nothing wrong with some lean ground beef, a little cheese, bacon, whatever you want.

There are also a lot of lower calorie burgers, especially the ones on the childrens menu. Skipping one or both buns can shave off some calories and just about any chain establishment has a website where you can look up the nutrition information.

You CAN have the foods you want, it just takes a bit of planning...

So have a cheeseburger. Work it into your calories, cook a healthier version at home, etc. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with some meat and cheese.

Babybat 12-12-2012 08:07 PM

Try making a turkey burger!

owlsteazombies 12-12-2012 08:53 PM

So have a cheeseburger. Just make it work. Are you never allowed to have a cheeseburger ever again? That would be a horrible world to live in.

I make my own juicy lucy's with reduced fat cabot cheddar and ground bison. Sooooo good!

BreathingSpace 12-12-2012 08:58 PM

have a cheeseburger but only eat half (if you have the willpower to do this).

Yup. I don't have off limits stuff. I find a way to work it in to my calories. Fast food is easy for me to resist because it makes me sick now. Some things are harder to work in than others.

domesticbliss 12-12-2012 09:56 PM

are you physically hungry enough to eat a cheeseburger or is it just your mind?
if you're willing to eat vegetables, then you're legitimately hungry and should find something to eat, if not- it's just a craving and you'll have to talk yourself out of it or ignore it.

I read something the other day that says when you have a craving you should say "I don't eat (whatever) food" instead of "I can't eat (whatever) food" because it makes you feel more in control, it's been helping me

CherryQuinn 12-12-2012 09:59 PM

its always amazed me how many people can eat mcdonalds or any fast food burger , im not saying that in a mean way, ive tried many times to eat one and i get violently ill, like borderline go-to-the-hospital ill. no idea why but my body rejects them and fast. maybe im a mutant.

before my gallbladder stones i would make homemade burgers. they were just as high in calories cause they were thicker but much healthier (and tastier) and my body didnt reject it. i miss those burgers. id say make a homemade burger :) youll satisfy your craving probably. and you could even make homemade baked chips for a side. mannn now im hungry lol

Really? How do you figure? Science disagrees.

Which part of a traditional cheeseburger are you referring to? Beef patty? Tomato? Cheese? Bun?

Well maybe if we're talking about a McDonald's Cheeseburger :dizzy:

But even then, it has some nutritional value, even if it is very little.

Personally I would rather have a homemade cheeseburger. Much more juicy and tasty. McDonald's ones are just...bleh! :D
