33lbs is amazing, good work!!!
It's so hard for us bigger ladies to see the differences that smaller ladies do; they can change a dress size in 10lbs where ours can be 30lbs each size! Keep doing what you are doing, it will pay off and show!! That's what I keep telling myself too. I do a fashion show in my closet every couple of weeks to see when old smaller clothes might fit. That's how I am trying to measure my progress, vs. by just what the scale says. |
33 pounds is great ! But, I do understand how you feel. Im down 43 and just this morning I was looking in the mirror in the gym locker room and thought, how is it possible that I still look exactly the same?! So frustrating !
The funniest thing is, I started at 250 and now weigh 206. My husband has started to watch his diet. He started at 270 and now weighs 260, so thats 10 pounds for hime. We just went to a holiday party and two different people approached us to tell us how great he (husband) looks. Then a few weeks ago someone asked me if my husband had lost weight! GRR! We do make a joke of it at my house. Husband teases me, telling me that he cant wait until I loose another couple pounds because HE is going to look so thin! Anyways, I know at some point I will look remarkably different and you will too! |

I'm down 27 lbs and other people notice it more than me. I haven't had to buy any new clothing, so I'm still wearing everything I wore before. It's hard to see major changes because you're always with you. Changes happen so gradually that it's like it's not happening at all. Trust that they are occurring.

why dont you try to measure yourself?

do you have any pics?

Absolutely keep the paper towel roll in mind - it's so true. Dropped from a 24 to a 22 after about 40 pounds, and am down to a pretty loose 18 with next 20. Just keep up the good work and it WILL happen.

Read this book: "Intuitive Eating" by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resche.
If you're going to reach a healthy body weight and stay there, it's not going to happen by obsessing over your body every day. You're creating a living **** for yourself and setting yourself up for failure by weighing yourself and worrying about what you eat. |
You're definitely not alone. I started at 275 lbs and in my opinion, my weightloss wasn't really noticeable till about the early 220s-late 2-teens, so 50-60 lbs in. I mean I noticed little things and people occasionally asked if I had lost weight before that. But about 50-60 lbs in, it's like I went to bed chubby and woke up skinny.
Regarding clothing sizes, I think it took like 40 lbs from my highest size 22/20W (at 275 lbs) to an 18 (at 235 lbs) , then about 15 lbs from there to a 16 (at 220 lbs) and then another 10 lbs to get down to a size 14 (at 210 lbs) and another 10 lbs to get down to a 12 (at 198 lbs) etc. So you're doing pretty well and the changes you're experiencing seem pretty much on track to me. |
