for the past 10 minuntes my heart beat is going like I just did some intense cardio, even though I haven't moved...I get these frequently(once or twice a day lately) and besides being annoying, they make me wicked nervous...sometimes it can get to over 200 beats a minunte
I am not stressed, nor is it due to caffine because I don't drink coffee or soda (and only a little tea)
And I'm just wondering if weightloss can cause this?
The first thing I thought of was anxiety. Attacks can come on in a rested state so don't rule that out. Also, you may want to look at your caffeine intake. If it persists or concerns you I would get it checked out.
I believe weight loss can cause heart palpitations, but that doesn't mean it's a good or normal thing. I would definitely go to the doctor about this.
I'd get checked out. Nutrient deficiencies/imbalances can cause that, as well as hormones, and diet can be the culprit. But when that is the case it must be dealt with. It's not a benign just-happens-with-healthy-diets side effect.
Lots of possible causes already mentioned above...but some more to consider are thyroid problems, low blood sugar and yeast/carb detoxing if you are eating lower carbs than usual.
Definitely needs to be checked out ASAP. Last year I had irregular heartbeats and my doctor had me go to a cardiologist as soon as possible. Mine are PVCs which are considered harmless unless there is heart disease or damage, and mine checked out okay. But you never know... heart issues are not something to mess around with.
something else and probably not applicable to you is that some asthma preventative inhalers can cause a racing heart in some people...if you are not used to the medication it can cause this to happen and frighten a new asthmatic with its severity..like i said probably does not apply to you hun...just thought i would mention it...cheers liz
many dieting supplements contain things that cause heart palpatations... read the labels... probably have caffine too. That is IF you are taking something.
I think heart palpitations caused due to weakness.
I don't think that what you describe are heart palpitations though. Heart palpitations feels like your heart is pounding really strongly, a bit faster, and you feel it and hear it. And it usually only last a couple of seconds at a time. If it last 10 minutes at a time I would be worried. Get checked!
There's so many things this could be, from blood sugar or stress to minor heart attack or SVT; definately go get it checked!!!!

I'm going to close this as the consensus is really you need to consult a doctor. So please get this checked out.
