Ugh! I have given up coffee several times for dieting. A little over a year ago, I lost 40 pounds fairly effortlessly having all of the coffee/HWC I wanted plus one meal in the evening. I never felt hungry bc I was getting that constant fat infusion all day. I always had a big iced coffee in my hand. But that isn't working for me now. I've been working on it for seven weeks and after the water weight I am down four pounds and seem to be going up now if anything. So, cutting out the HWC seems the only thing I can do at this point to go down in calories. But I'm really torn about whether I should try to learn to like it black or just give it up.
The only reason I can see to try to drink it black (which I did today, and it wasn't terrible but right now not something I will be enjoying) is that I keep coming back to it. It's always an issue for me when I'm trying to lose, either for or against. And if I learn to drink it black, it will be a non-issue.
OTOH, it seems crazy to teach myself to be addicted to black coffee since I currently don't like it or want it.
The bottom line for me is which is going to be more beneficial for weight loss, and I'm not sure which. I am leaning toward giving it up, but fear that's the wrong move. Of course, it's not like I can't change course later... Just curious about what others have done.
And since I know the obvious answer is to put something different in my coffee... I have tried them all and I don't see any benefit of, say, water yucky almond milk over black, or any of the other alternatives I've tried.

Ignorance is bliss in this case for me.

I say don't fix it if it's not broke. Right now it's not working for me, though.
Let's just say that information stuck with me.
But that's kinda my gut reaction. I guess also I'm kind of curious to see whether I'm capable of IF w/o getting that fat stream all day. I kind of feel like I've been an IF faker since it's not like I'm not getting lots of calories during my "fast".
