im not trying to rain on anyones parade, im just saying that very few of us will ever look like models and be perfectly thin AND proportionate. we should learn to love what we have and be proud of all the work we've done.

i hope that came out right

NO! I WILL LOOK LIKE GISELLE AND GROW 10 INCHES AS I LOSE WEIGHT!

I'm going to my room to cry now. ;)

I understand about wanting to fit into most boots! I can't yet either. Just hang on and one day they will. :)

I could not disagree more. Deep down, bone-deep, in fact, I believe that even on a very surface level, a lot of fat people are very pretty. Then, when you add personality, so many more become very pretty. Please - accept the sincere compliment. Even if your calves are disproportionate, you can still be gorgeous. :-)

i struggle with feeling like thin = attractive as well. i think it's a lot because of my mother honestly. i have 2 sisters and when we were growing up my mom made a big deal out of being thin. shes 5'6 and has always been about a size 2 or 4. even when i was 15 and weighed 115 lbs i remember her encouraging me to go on a 1000 calorie/day diet when i said i wanted to lose weight.

well, long story short, she ended up with 3 girls who constantly battle with weight and self esteem. to this day she'll say things like "has anyone told you that you've put on a lot of weight?", as if i dont know and im not totally obsessing about it anyway.

*however* the older i get (im 31 now) the more i realize that there is more to being pretty than being a size 4. my male friends seem much less concerned with girls' weight than they did as shallow teenagers. i know girls with perfect bodies whose faces arent very attractive and whose personalities are even worse. as we get older i think people tend to focus more on personality and less on looks.

aside from that, girls who are overweight can be stunning. i know a girl who is significantly heavier than me but has really pretty eyes and amazing skin and hair. shes so pretty.

i agree with laurie. when i met my wonderful boyfriend i just thought he was normal looking, certainly not unattractive but just kinda cute. the more i got to know him and found out what an awesome person he was, the more attractive i found him until i thought (and still do) that he was about the most adorable guy id ever seen.

never forget that beauty comes in many different shapes and forms!
